Happy Weekend…happy Simple Saturday! I am the very first to say that the thought of having a “real” snowman makes me shiver! I an not a “winter” person, I think snow is beautiful to look at (from inside of my house)
Today and tomorrows card is using the Snow Place Bundle and this is one that I would definitely get the bundle as there are so many framelits that make what we do – SOOOOO much easier! It is on page 33.
I know, I know….I am being square again and I just can’t help myself as I just love square cards and I know how I feel when I receive an odd size card so it does bring me joy to make them as I know the recipient will love it!
The overall size of this card is a 4 ½” square and then I made the envelope and liner were made with the envelope paper. WOW – this paper is so affordable, a dream to work with and I am doing the happy dance that it is in the Real Red (Holiday catalog, page # 26 , (20) 12 X 12 sheets for just $6.00
Because “Mr. Snowman” has a black top hat on today, I decided use black as an accent color to add the contrast to the real red BUT…the real fun is the Corrugated Paper (page 148 in the annual catalog). If you have not worked with, it is fun.
You get (2) sheets of white and (2) sheets of craft. I realize that this is a product that you might not use a lot but it is something fun to use from time to time as it gives a fun interest! (I think it will be great for snowflakes and also a great accent for Valentines)
Because the sentiment was too long for the space that I had, I simply “fussy cut it randomly” and then matted it on real red….BAM – done! I love this font, actually there are many great sentiments in the stamp set.
Before I adhered the white “fun” paper to the black, I adhered a small piece of the real red cotton ribbon and then used another piece to make a bow and a glue dot to the rescue! DONE!
Did you notice the red enamel dot on “Mr. Snowman’s” hat? These are another keeper and they are found on page 9 of the Holiday catalog. I sure hope that they get carried over once this catalog goes bye-bye but just in case, you bet that I will stock up on some. It is a perfect little accent that adds a subtle and classic bling!
Well….thoughts???? I know to get excited about making Holiday cards but it is really just 2 months away…..YIKES – - please do not forget to send me a Holiday Swap card…you still have time, make one up over the weekend and send it my way.
I have really, really been a good girl and I have not opened up 1 swap card to take a peek. When John brings the mail in and he sees that “Swap Card” is on the envelope – he tosses it in a basket for me (he’s trained well…right?)
He teases me that he cannot believe that I have not opened them at all…why???? Well I know myself well enough – I would look…look…and look and get nothing done – I love to be able to sit down and be surprised and then I love showcasing them on my blog. I am always so proud of each and every one of you!
I hope to see you back tomorrow to see what I did to “Mr. Snowman” – he is just adorable and this is a fun set. I hope that this cute card brought a smile to your face!
Below you will see all of the products that I used for today’s card….if you want to preview it and see more details about it, click on the item and then if you wish to purchase it, you can add it to your shopping cart.
I think that it is great to have this scrolling store as it makes it so easy if you are purchasing items but it is a great source to just preview it and find out all of the specifics! Please feel free to email me…I will be glad to help y

Oh Susan you are so right . . . I do not like the cold winter and snow . . . except from in doors and in pictures! Brrr with the thought! Mr. Snowman here is so cute. All the details are very happy. I love the hat and the tie. I hope to get a swap card out to you this weekend!!!
🙂
Cute card! Can’t wait to see what you do to ‘dress this up’ even more! Thanks for sharing all of the tips! Got to get started on my Christmas cards … wow … 2 months away! Better get to stampin’!!! Have a great day!
Oh, he is so cute! Love how you used the corregated paper. Great card! I do love the winter and cold weather….like to bundle up and take a walk ☃
Adorable!!!
Hi Susan,
I am like you and hate the snow and cold. I do, however, love snowmen and was planning to do that for my Christmas card this year. Your card is adorable! I am excited to see the stepped up version tomorrow !
Thank you for your wonderful inspiration 🙂
I love your snowman card! With highs in the low 80’s here in NC, though, snowmen seem to be a while in the future! As usual on Saturdays, I love the “simple” card and wonder how you could possibly make it better!
I did not make it in as a demo yet. My finances have to be sorted out, first. I’m still paying off the June and July trips. Very soon, though!
Talk to you soon!
Cyberhugs!
PS–I hope your weekend with Hannah is extra special!
Like the stamp in the set says, “Snow way!” Christmas is that close! Furnaces and indoors is my thought on winter looking out at snowflakes and snowmen. We don’t have a fireplace. Anyway, the card is very cute and I like the choice of colors. The hat is the cutest with the touch of green and the candy dot! Love how you did the sentiment. I knew there was kraft colored corrugated paper but I missed that there was white sheets in the pack. I just love the texture. Maybe tomorrow’s card will have snowflakes or dazzling diamonds stuff on it? Either way, COOL!
very cute little snowman, I love this set and have enjoyed the penguin and the snowman the most! I will confess that I completely missed the corrugated paper AND the red accent dots in the holiday mini…must be slipping!
You make such very pretty cards, I Look forward to your e-mails.
There is so many nice ones that I really can’t pick a favorite of them. I like all of the cards.
