Good Morning….it is the weekend and WOOT-WOOT!!! I know that you all seem to enjoy when I post about tips and tricks and also just things that I use that I ADORE to share with you as I know we all are on the same page in many ways….
TIME + ORGANIZATION = A HAPPY STAMPER!!!
I get asked often about mailing a card in the mail that has pearls, perhaps a button…basic BUMPS that make our mailman crazy etc….
Here are a couple (well 3) options that I can suggest for you!
#1 – You can take a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" piece of paper and run it through the Big Shot with an embossing folder to place over top of your card. This is the fastest and easiest way to do it but I must admit, I rarely do it as I tend to use the next (2) more….
#2 – Foam Sheets – These are very thin. I purchased them thru Amazon and you might want to go in with a friend if you think that you need to split the order up! You do get a bunch but I like these as you can easily cut them to the specific size that you need. Click here to see this product!
I will also say…that I tend to use these for other things that I need an extra padding for when shipping. Having handy things like this is a lifesaver as you never know when you need them!
#3 –Padded Mailers - I really, really love these mailers! WHY?….the padding is great – no need to add anything else and the are WHITE so it looks super clean, simple and classic! I admit, I ran out of them about 2 weeks ago and went to Sam's Club and bought others but I like these much better!
Many times, I need to add additional postage as it might be a square card or maybe it has a "bump" that requires extra postage etc….I find that there is a minimal extra charge when I use these padded envelopes. You can also easily use these for mailing a stamp set (thin ones) and also small products like dimensionals, tear tape with a card! LOVE THEM! Click here to see them!
Mesh Bags – Now to another product that I just would not be without! I feel like I always like to keep projects "safe and clean" and I use these below bags for so many things…my stamping projects, kits, I like to keep needlepoint in them – they are just so darn handy!
I must admit, when I looked at my past history with Amazon, I paid significantly less than what they are showing up now, Click here to see them but when I went to my history of purchases, I just paid $2.69 a piece as an add-on item and now they are much more expensive…. ( I am not 100% sure how the add-ons work) but I will say, that I love them so much that I would pay this for them….BUT – READ BELOW….
Last weekend when we were visiting Hannah I popped into the Container Store (this is like a kid in a candy store – I LOVE this store) and look what I found! They are basically the same thing – I actually bought one to see if it was similar and it is.
You can click here to see them and you will see that they came in 3 sizes. Below is a picture and you can see that they are super similar!
I hope that these tips have helped you and next week I am going to do another post on how I organize cards that I have made up already…..(CALGON…TAKE ME AWAY) If I do not organize them by category….it is total chaos! (sound familiar to anyone)
Hope to see you over the weekend…Simple Saturday and Step it up Sunday!
p.s. – today is Milo's 2nd Birthday (I still cannot figure out how a rescue knows the exact day but we will celebrate it anyway) A tradition we have is Frosty Paws for every one – pop back to see a picture of the crazy party!
I could not resist sharing this with you…I came home and took my necklace off and put it on him…he loved it and as he walked past the other dogs, they looked at him like "WHAT THE HECK IS ON YOUR NECK!!!"
I am taking him over to Earlene's today for a visit! He is sooooo special!

Love the mesh bags and I am going to try to get those asap! The thin foam is also fabulous – THANK YOU!
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SWEET MILO! So glad to hear he is going to visit Earline today too – What a great day for you all. ENJOY and can’t wait to see his pic again tomorrow.
Have a super day!
Super duper ideas! Happy birthday Milo! You are a lucky pup!
Love your tips…..they are always so very helpful and thank you for the links too! Happy b-day, dear Milo! You’re rock’n those jewels and definitely King for a Day! Enjoy the paws party!
Thank you so much for the wonderful tips, Susan! I’m sure that Milo was strutting his necklace in front of the others on purpose just to show-off! He is just Too Cute! Happy Birthday Milo~
You always come up with the best ideas, which help all of us. I do use the thin foam sheets and always collect them from packages I receive. Milo is certainly cute in your necklace. Happy Birthday to him.
Thank you so much. Just ordered them.
Thanks for the great tips!! On my way to order both items. Milo is rockin’ your necklace! Caleb actually thought it was his real dog collar. 🙂 Happy Birthday, Milo! Enjoy your treats with all your furry friends.
Have a great birthday Milo! Maybe take a cupcake to Earlene to celebrate with her too?
I use the foam sheet stuff or the padded envelopes too. The foam sheet stuff I collect from packages mailed to us. So I have not had to buy any. It cuts easily too. My friend Pam saves hers and then uses it to mail me stuff so I always seem to have a big sheet of it. Speaking of such I need to go cut off a little piece to place over a pearl for my MIL birthday card I need to mail today!
I have a few of the mesh bags that I had bought from craft stores or needlework stores too. They are very handy for a lot of things.
Ah, the Container Store! When we lived in Houston I was there all the time just to drool sometimes! I found out that a certain bus ran a couple blocks from our house and went right to the Container Store without any transfers! I learned not to tell my husband where I was going because he would have had a heart attack if he knew where all I would go on the bus system! One time though I found some stuff that was too big too carry on the bus so I had to call him to come and get me and all my stuff. It was maybe 5 miles from our house. Anyway, he didn’t ask how I got there and I never told him. I think he figured it out though. Boy, I sure miss that store! I still order from them though!
Thanks for your tips! I use packing tape on the back of my envelopes over the bumps from pearls, knots, rhinestones, etc.
Great tips Susan.
Love, Love your tips.
I didn’t know about using the big shot and an emboss folder. Makes great sense to me.
I often put the thin foam sheets in the envelopes. I save them when ever I receive a package that has this in it.
Right now have a huge roll of it that I received recently with something that I ordered, this is a fun bonus when I buy something through the mail.
Oh Susan ….what fun ! I love your tips and the links . I use to live near The Container Store and now I am out in the woods …. ,but I save more money . That store and The Dollar Tree were too easy to get to then !!
Milo is precious and sooooo lucky to have been found by you !! He is very photogenic !
Happy birthday to Milo! We use the day we bring our fur baby home from the shelter as their “birthday”. Thanks for sharing your mailing tips.
