Wow….it feels great to be back to a Simple Saturday! It has been 2 weeks since we have had our 2 day posts and I hope that you can see that this is both simple and fast!
The life saver to this card is the Whisper White Note Cards – I adore them as I love the quality of the paper and I love the price! A double WOOT-WOOT! It is hard to get a great picture but this real red foil is stunning.
In a crunch time for a card? This is a super card to whip up! You all know how much I adore sentiment framelits….and how can you not resist with the super fun word of falala!!!!
The sweet and simple holly is not only a classic but it is super easy to watercolor with the Aqua painters (oops, I forgot to add that to the list so here you go with the colors I used as well! The colors are Pear Pizazz and Always Artichoke
To the outside of this holly stamp…I simply use the Sahara Sand Ink to do a quick "wisp" of color around the image.
A couple of quick accents to the holly makes an instant pop …there are times that you do not have to do much to make an effective accent1
I adore white space but I thought that the ribbon would be the perfect touch to break the space….sometimes just a bit is all it needs! I like to adhere the ribbon and adhere it to the back and then tie a simple bow and adhere it with a glue dot! Easy….peasy!
My first "peep" is leaving today but yesterday it was a fabulous day! Besides the normals that I love…the kids, the animals etc….we went bowling and took my Dad! It was a hoot and oh so much fun…..he did not want to play but they had a "ramp" that you can put a ball on and push. We had a blast and he score a strike!
Have a great day and if you are traveling, please be safe! I hope to see you back here tomorrow….to be inspired by the stepped up version!

Love all the details on today’s card. I could see this with a “Thank You” stamped inside the card for a Christmas gift thanks. I think it would work. I love all the accents, especially the Sahara Sand accenting around the holly. I’m looking forward to seeing the Stepped-Up version of this card tomorrow!!
It sounds like you had a blast bowling! I’m sure your dad loved spending time with you guys. Safe travels for your first Peep leaving. We’re traveling to see my brother in Minneapolis today and Caleb is taking one of your treat boxes to him. 🙂
Susan, this is stunning. I love the detail in the holly. You are right often less is more.
The DSP and holly stamp look perfect together. The ribbon is a great accent, just enough icing on a cupcake. Look forward to seeing what stepped up looks like tomorrow.
Oh Susan great card. So glad you had such a fun day yesterday. My niece got engaged Wednesday night at a bowling ally!!! Her fiance put it up on the score board? I haven’t been to a bowling ally in 20 years.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.
🙂
Great card….love everything about it! Definitely CASING! I love the shading around the holly. I have a shading marker just for this (comes in gray and beige) and I hope SU comes out with one. Safe travels to your oldest and have more fun with your dad. Make those memories!
Susan, love this card! Did you use coaster board to pop up the falala? So pretty!!
Such a beautiful & simple card! Perfect!
So, so sweet. Love the foil paper idea!
Well deck the halls, isn’t this a beauty? Now, how to step it up? I only can think of some punched out of red glimmer paper for the holly berries or isn’t there a cherry cobbler dazzling diamonds you squeeze out to make the berries? Whatever, this is really fun and pretty. Love the envelope liner paper too. This almost wants me to get some of these word framelits but no, other stuff I want and would use more.
Bowling, I pretty much grew up in bowling alleys! My dad was even city champ in my hometown one year! When my parents died, we gave a lot of the bowling trophies to a group that repurposes them for kids. Me bowl, I am doing good to break 100 and that is all three games!
I love your card! I really want the shiny dots, before they are gone. I’m not so great with Crystal Effects.
Glad you have been having a great holiday weekend! I look forward to talking to you soon!
Cyberhugs!
