I just love this time of the year…(except the time change) and I think that it is super fun to make unexpected gifts to celebrate with family & friends….in general, to be thankful! I am sure that many of you have seen these super cute jars of cookies but trust me, they are always a huge hit!
Please click the recipe ~ M & M Cookie Recipe and get ready to go to the grocery store and make people smile!
Remember gifts from your hands and heart are a true work of art!
Decorating the jar is the fun part! I have kept this super simple and I hope that the pictures will bring clarity for you! Please feel free to email me if I can be of specific help but I think one thing that is for sure….this is a super cute and yummy project!
The burlap ribbon, the circle framelit to cover the top made this an easy way to jazz up a good old faithful, the Mason Jar!!! The leaves were super easy to make and if you are doing this with children, they will love it!
I simply took scraps of the paper of the leaves and balled up the paper, smoothed it out…balled it up again (doing this works the fibers in the paper to make a fun effect) and then ran it through the Big Shot using the leaf framelits! FUN AND EASY! Because I cannot list out the markers individually, the colors I used are Crushed Curry, Old Olive & Early Espresso….you can really use any color combination you have!
The banner was a cinch to make with the banner framelits! When I stamped the image onto the vanilla scraps, I took the markers and inked them up…gave a BIG HUFF of Stampin' love and then stamped….it works…it is fun!
One idea that is fun to do…after you make the cookies, fill the jar with family memories and things to be thankful for….and then while you are together with your family over the holiday, have people pull out a memory….it is a great way to have fun conversation and relive memories1
There you go my friends, you all know that I love to share with you the "little and special" things that I like to do and it is a joy to share them with you! Sharing is a huge part of what I do and I hope that this inspires you. You will be amazed at special it will be to someone to receive a simple and creative gift like this!
Enjoy this blog hop…there is always so much talent out there – be a huge sponge and soak it up!
If you are new to my blog, welcome and I invite you to subscribe to my blog as I love to share what I do each and everyday!

Is this a fun idea or what! Way to go Susan go out of the box (jar) for the blog hop!
Super idea, need to get some made up. I assume you meant to mean 3/4 cup butter or margarine in the directions when mixing. Thanks for reminding us of the project and have a joy filled day.

Susan, thanks for the reminder on this idea. Its fun and festive and great for neighbors!
What a great gift and so beautifully decorated! The cookies sound delish too! Also, wanted to say Happy Veterans Day to all the brave men and women who have put their lives on the line to serve and protect our country. Thank you!
This collection of leaves is perfect, Susan! What an amazing dressing to a wonderful gift!
Perfect fall gift! I will do this with the grandchildren!
Fun! The only thing better would be the recipe for those darn ginger cookies of yours! I love all the details from the tag to the burlap ribbon. What a fun yum, yum! I love the leaves – does it matter if you distress the paper before or after using the Big Shot? Gotta hop along now!
Awww….so cute . What a great gift and my daughter does this type of gift for church friends and I will pass this on . Those Fall sprinkles are so colorful in your jar . I have not ever seen the Fall ones ….SO CUTE !! Your adornments are just perfect . LOVE IT !
Wow, great project Susan. Thanks for the recipe…i see making these for Christmas gifts in my future!
You never, ever, disappoint! This is a darling project, and would be awesome to take with as a thank you for T-day dinner.
Hello my friend! Another fun project to bookmark! I love the look of your leaves, and the idea of creating a memory jar after the cookies are baked is terrific. Happy Thanksgiving to you ~ enjoy family time!
I sooo love the way you crumpled those leaves–clever and so realistic.
Thank you, too, for the recipe; like many have said, those cookie mix jars are such a great gift idea.
Blessings abound!
Those leaves are so realistic-looking that I had to do a double-take peak at them! These types of gifts are always fun to give and receive. Can’t wait for your Eddie update and pictures tomorrow!
This is such a wonderful and fun gift! Can I be your neighbor?
Beautiful, Susan. Such a great idea. I love the crinkly leaves and the burlap.
Hi Susan,
I love this idea but am not sure if you used pint or quart size jars.
Thanks,
Cindy
