Welcome to the Pals’ June Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects using “Anything with Wings” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
This is a fun theme for this months hop and I knew the “cutie” I was going to use right out of the gate! I can still remember when this single stamp made its debut to the Stampin’ Up! Catalog (2 years ago)…I instantly LOVED it at first glance and I still love it today!
I call this a Peanut Butter & Jelly kinda card….WHAT???
Easy…it is super easy to use…it is always in style…and it is one that I say – “When in doubt…pull it out!!!” as this stamped image will always not only make YOU smile – but the recipient will do the same when they get this super sweet card!
Kinda like Peanut Butter & Jelly…when in doubt …pull it out! We loved it as kids and it still is super yummy as adults!
There is not a bunch to chat about in making this cards as it is super straight forward but I will point out a couple of tips that make a simple and basic card….stand out a bit more!
You all know that I love clean and simple cards and I am also a firm believer that one needs the basic staples of tools to make clean and simple cards. The Simply Scored Tool is just a must have in my opinion! I often do this…a simple score of the cardstock to add some fun!
After Stampin’ my image using the MUST HAVE Stamparatus I used the Blends to color in this fun image. It took literally minutes as the ink just glides on and gives perfect coverage!
After I colored it I thought to myself – I should have used clear embossing powder to make a bit of shine and then PLAN B went into effect…I never took the stamp out of the Stamparatus so PRESTO….
I placed it back in….stamped it again with the black ink and then quickly added clear embossing powder over it and heat set it. Worked like a charm and actually worked like I have planned to do it that way from out of the gate!
I am the very first one that agrees that the time element in life gets the best of us…but this is a super example of why I am a HUGE FAN of a card like this…
It is fast to make…It is rewarding…and it is a keeper!
I invite you to look at the “stuff” you have in your stash and then take inventory of the basics… I am all about these things as you need them 1st to create classics and then add to the inventory as you are able to do so….
To me…the basics in this project are…The Stamparatus…the Simply Scored Tool…The Heat Tool…The Blends and a great Black Ink! As far as Embossing Powders go…the 3 that I use the most are clear, gold and white…again, clean and simple!
OK – that is it for me today as you have a BUNCH OF HOPPIN’ to do and be inspired by. I thank you for popping by (or shall I say buzzin’ by) and I hope this sweet card brought a smile to your face!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 10, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Mixing It Up” projects. Don’t miss the fun!

Welcome to the Pals’ April Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we love to put our ”Families First”! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
WOOT-WOOT.….it’s a BLOG HOP day…..(and that is ALWAYS a fun day)…I have a little project for you that I am going to be working on over the next 2 weeks as we have WEDDING BELLS ringing on May 4th! My middle peep, James is getting married! 🙂
I just loved the theme around this blog hop as my personal motto is….FAMILY FIRST!!!
I am sure that you can guess that I would be “ALL HANDS ON DECK” for an occasion like this! I might tweak this a bit but for now…let’s roll with it as I am just in love with these sweets Kraft Pillow Boxes .
I have a bunch of pictures for you and truly there is nothing hard at all in making these sweet (yet very sturdy) boxes look super special! This is a great time to pull out what ever you have and USE IT UP!!!! You know that I always share….even if something is retired – WHO CARES??? if you like it…that is ALL THAT MATTERS!
I know that many of you are not keen on 3-D projects but please hear me out and hit that button and get a pack or 2 of these – you will be happy that you did so as trust me, they come in handy with minimal effort but the end result is nothing short of FUN and a FEELING OF SPECIAL!
One thing that you have heard me say over and over…when in doubt – GO FOR A SENTIMENT STAMP…and yep, today is no different! I think that sometimes we do not put the weight into looking at a sentiment stamp as thinking….there are no images….nothing to color….etc.
Stop and look at the sentiments to see if the font speaks to you….look at the themes….and if the green light is on…than I say go for it as this is a prime example of how this gem worked for me!
This stamp set is in the annual catalog, called Better Together and I will say….I have used it a bunch! It has been around for several years but I will say that I have reached for it often as I find the font to be fun and unique…please do not forget about the annual catalog…it has many keepers in it!
You also know that I say OVER and OVER…it’s all about the basics! Peek below and see the rectangle stitched frames – a true blue classic! A staple like this is a one time investment and one that you will never regret. When you have a classic like this – you can always use it for many projects!
Basic stitched shapes like this are a must have in any shape that you can get your hands on…WHY? – Easy = they are a great foundation for a clean and simple card. When we have the right products…we can enjoy the journey of crafting by letting the basics be your foundation and then build around it!
Hers is another peek of a project that I have been working on! Easter is right around the corner and many of you might remember this sweet single stamp that was retired years ago! This is a perfect example of how I say….KEEP WHAT SPEAKS TO YOU…and this little lamb – he spoke to me years ago and he still does!
I have made over 60 of these and probably will be making more as they come together SUPER QUICK but you can see that they are super fun! I have (3) Reese’s Eggs in it (smaller size) but they are just PERFECT SIZE for a sweet favor.
Last peek as you have a BUNCH OF HOPPING TO DO!!!! You can clearly see that the sky is the limit with your creativity. These pillow boxes are perfect for treats…perfect for a gift card…just a staple that you need to have for those “just in case times”
I love using glue dots as much as I can when making these as the as a time saver and also a super strong hold! I encourage you to look at all if the little additions you have to use as a spring board to add some clean and simple fru-fru to make your little project pop!
I say have fun…and just look at what you have and go from there! I do hope that we continue to come out with more punches – they are always the fastest option when in a crunch for time and also for mass producing!!! Our punches are so sturdy and truly go thru the test of time….and I am one that tries to never let them leave Randall Lane!

Welcome to the Pals’ March Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because ”Spring has Sprung” – at least on our blog hop if not outside! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Good Morning and are you ready to HOP?
I sure hope so as you will be one tired bunny hopping from 27 different Blogs of inspiration – I say….put on those hopping shoes and get started! This will be such a fun hop this month as who would not welcome a parade of cards to help push SPRING into our crafting lives!
The East Coast has been wet…wet…WET and we have mud, mud,,,MUD so I will gladly take a bit of sunshine and also some COLOR! I have a SUPER SIMPLE card for you that is just so simple to make but in my “simple eyes”….it carries a big statement!
It just “works” when you have the right products at your fingertips and you let them do the work….let them shine and bloom!
The stamp that I am working with is the Incredible Like You Stamp Set. The minute I saw this stamp I knew it was going to live on Randall Lane! By now you know the way that I look at a stamp to determine if it needs to come to little old Williamsport, MD….and yep, it made the cut!
- It’s a Photopolymer (my favorite)
- It has AMAZING sentiments
- I adore that there are (2) different fonts
- The (3) dots…(music to my crafting loves)
- The (5) lines….super fun and would be STELLAR stamped tone on tone in Versamark for a fun background.
When you pair this great stamp with another Blue Ribbon winner, the Happiness Blooms DSP….you have an INSTANT POP of WOW! I just love it when this happens as you can just let the products do the work and the end result – an adorable card!
As you can clearly see…this collection of paper is super bold but to me…it is a must have as the colors are classic and fun….the prints are just fun and fresh and the scale of the prints are great for card making as well as for 3-d projects!
The WOW of POP that makes this card work is the use of a simple Punch. When we can use a Punch and instant smile comes on my face as punches are just so easy to use and they are so very effective on a project.
This punch, the Daisy Punch made its debut last year and this is one that I would always have in your stash as let’s face it…it’s a classic and who would love a little POP like I am showcasing today for you!
When Stampin’ Up! comes out with a punch….it always has a home as to me, punches are just so easy to use and Stampin’ Up! does them sooooo well…..you can see that I did not adhere the petals of the flowers as they look great with the petals curls up a wee bit.
I try to work on groups of odd numbers as it is easier on the eye and it balances your card out. By adhering 2 of them flat and then POPING up the 3rd with dimensionals…the pop instantly happens!
Here is the last star of the show….another Blue Ribbon keeper that just has to be in all of our homes….the rectangle stitched framelits. These are just the basics that will make crafting fun. I often blog about the fact that if you have the “basics” then you are good to go…
It starts with having the right tools & then letting them do the work!
Trust me, I am the very 1st to realize that there are soooooo many products out there that we could fill our house with them….just ask John – I say it is a good thing that the peeps are out of the nest as I have now took over Hannah’s bedroom!!!
Having framelits in the basic shapes…circle, squares, rectangle etc…are your “go to’s” for creating without stress….and these puppies…with the stitched details are the icing on the must have cake!
In the picture above you can see that all I did was take the same size of rectangle and let them be the focal point….I ask you, how easy is this? I feel like sometimes we try to make things harder and I know I too am guilty as charged with that…but I am now facing the fact that IF I want to stamp, play and create….I have to do it efficiently so simple just works for me!
Here is one last peek at this sweet card….SIMPLE right? I sure hope that this put a smile of your face and I hope that I was able to show you that using the basics and letting them do the work….will ultimately work for you in a great card!!!

Have a GREAT day and I thank you for popping onto my blog today…you have a bunch of hopping to do….so lace up those shoes and get going – I will see you next month! May we all have a BUNCH of SPRING in our steps today…. 🙂

Welcome to the Pals’ February blog hop. We’re so glad you’re here because it’s “Time to Sale-A-Brate”! Our Design Team created projects using Sale-A-Bration items to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Hello…Happy HUMP day….and are you ready to HOP!?!
I say PUT ON YOUR HOPPIN’ SHOES as there are 29 blogs of inspiration for you today and I am super happy to be here sharing some FUN with a NEWBIE Sale-A-Bration item.….I call it ” SAB…round 2″
I think that it is fair to say that Sale-A-Bration is the “sweetest time of the year” as heck – who doesn’t like a freebie! Remember, for every $50,00 you spend,,,you can pick a goodie that makes your heart pitter-patter!
Below you will see the stamp that I used today! It is such a versatile one and I am just thrilled with the end result of this card! At a glance you might think that this looks super hard…..but NOPE…..2 main reasons!
- This stamp is a Photopolymer which makes it a cinch to stamp!
- Works like a charm with the Stamparatus… a stamp positioning tool is truly a “must-have” for all of us as it helps sooo much and the more you use it over and over….it is something that you say, “How did I craft before!!!”
I just adore a classic color palette and today is no different – you just cannot go wrong with Black and White with a POP! My POP is the fun Granny Apple Green!
You can see the repetition of the detailed stamp in Black and then I simply took the small heart and filled it! I did not use the stamparatus with the heart as it is super easy to look through and stamp! Just think of the fun you could have with so many different color combinations as well as different sentiments!
For these reasons….this is why this stamp set “spoke to me” ! I truly think that you need to look at stamps and think….how can I make it work for my style…my needs etc…..to me, it is just so darn clean and classic!
Let’s have a chat about this framelit that I used for the sentiment! It is from the below Climbing Roses Bundle and I admit, when I first saw this bundle I thought….I do not need more roses and then it happened – I saw the framelits and caved!
I can remember I thought 2 things…
- There are 2 very unique framelits….(the one I am using today for the sentiment) and the other, the lattice (I have a super card coming soon with that)
- I loved the sentiments on this stamp set and I do love to use the aqua painter and thought….I will enjoy this bundle!
Again, ask yourself questions that work for you and your stampin’ needs!! Another question I ask myself is…can I use the “meat and potatoes” of the stamp set….and make it work for different Holidays/Themes of cards that I would use it for! YEP, I thought it could be great for Just Because, Anniversary, Birthday, Thank You…..
BOTH of these features stamps are in the same thought pattern…you can really stretch the uses!
Below you can see up close the detail of the framelit – isn’t it just so clean and classic! Another classic and a dream to work with is the Granny Apple Woven Ribbon – this makes the BEST bows and my trick that always works for me….use a glue dot to anchor your bow to “stay put” just where you want it to be!
By just adhering the sentiment image 3 times in different colors gives you a look of instant depth on the card. I encourage you to off set images like this as it brings the focal point front and centered!
Staying in line for the theme of the Blog Hop…..Sale-A-Bration….I used the oh so popular SAB pick of the Designer Series Paper, Botanical Butterfly for the envelope decor! I always have to dress up my envelope as the way I feel about it….the envelope is the “First Impression”…and we all know what out “gut instinct” tells us about that!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! by Susan Itell | Dec 12, 2018 | Christmas, PALS Blog Hops, Uncategorized |
Welcome to the Pals monthly blog hop. We’re so glad you’re here! December is time for glitz and bling with “All that Sparkles & Shines”. Today we feature projects that sparkle or shine. Maybe even a little of both.
You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I have a fun, clean and special card for you today! If you are new to my Blog….WELCOME but for those good old faithfuls….I have a double whammy for you today!
A “keeper” and a “formula”…
For you newbies….you might be sayin’ what the heck is she talking about? Well a “keeper” to me is something that is timeless, a true blue classic and a “formula”….well that is, a layout that you can use OVER and OVER with many stamps and papers you already have…for countless card themes….one for you to jot down the measurements and file for the future!
Let’s get going! This card is showcased with the stunning Dashing Deer Bundle and YES….it is being carried over so pull out your chair and do a little dance as this is one versatile and classic offering!
Remember, you will ONLY GET THE 10% DISCOUNT NOW as after this catalog it will not be a bundled price and heck, that is $5.00 so why not – helps towards shipping!
I hope that you can see the detail of the stamp. I was just THRILLED with how this stamped and I love the fine details that the framelits give! It is details like this that you say to yourself after you run it through the Big Shot…WOW – I did that…..and it was so easy yet so WOW!
I was not happy with the way my photos turned out as it is so hard to capture the sheer elegance of the gold foil paper so you are going to have to trust me…it is one classic that I would be SUPER proud to send!
I just adore using lots of paper with layers. It is a simple but always effective way to showcase a clean and simple card…my favorite type of card to make! I have several “close-up” shots for you so I hope that you find them helpful in getting the feel of the card.
Another thing that I adore to do is score! I always use the Simply Scored when doing so as I feel it gives you a much deeper score line …look below at the way the gold foil paper was scored….I think it is STUNNING and just the right amount of bling to make the card have that WOW feel!
I am not a card maker that uses a bunch of sparkle and shine to my cards but I will say, the holidays are a time that I do enjoy using it and the overall effect that it brings is just the “right touch” With that said….here is a GREAT TIP for you….
I would make sure that you have the Foil Sheets in your stash as there is nothing worse than working on a project and saying….now a bit gold or silver would do the trick and then for you to find out….you are out!
I have listed at the end of the post the (4) different offerings that Stampin’ Up! offers in the Foil Papers…they are a great price point and you only get 2 sheets so it is not like you have a big worry of storage of MORE PAPER…trust me on this one,,,you will be happy that you have them for when you need that extra special touch!
Now for what I know you all want…..THE FORMULA! Well…here you go and I do hope that you will copy this down and then make one! When I blog about “formula cards” I always encourage my blog readers to go NOW to their craft area and make one up….even if you do not have these exact products….
This way you will be able to reference right back to the pictures. This formula is a great way to use up paper and also a way to minimize the amount of DSP that you use.
- Card Base – a regular A-2 Card….4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″
- The Gold Foil Piece is 2 3/4″ X 5 1/2″ and then scored at 1/4″ and 1/2″ on each sides….(long side) and then on the (short sides), score at 3/8″ and 1/2″ on both ends. Adhere to base of card. (If you have the little markers for the Simply Scored…just put them on the Simply Scored as it makes it super fast and easy to remember where to score)
- The solid piece of cardstock is 2 1/2″ X 4″ and then the DSP is the same. Adhere over the gold with tilting the Solid rectangle as shown.
- Add the focal element to the card…for today, I used the deer and then popped it up with some slivers of dimensionals to give it a lift! A wee gold bow adhered with a simple glue dot was the perfect bling for this classic Holiday card!
- Add a sentiment across the middle on a strip of paper. I think an element like this is the icing on the card as it creates an interest to the eye without being super distracted! I also like to only cut one end of the sentiment strip and also extend it over the rectangles…
There you GO!!!! I hope that these directions are a great help to you and I also hope that you will make this layout up! I am all about making multiple cards up and with the Stamparaus….it is a breeze to do so! I hope that card touched your heart and has inspired you to get inky today!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s hoppers. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created. Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations.

by Susan Itell | Jul 11, 2018 | Congratulations, PALS Blog Hops, Uncategorized |
Welcome to the Pals July, 2018 Blog Hop. We’re having a “Pattern Party”. This month our creations will feature our favorite Designer Series Papers and coordinating embellishments from the new annual catalog from Stampin’ Up!
You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal!
Let’s get started by saying “hippity-hoppity-humpday “ to you and I thank you for HOPPING on and see the fun DSP Pattern Party inspiration that i have for you today! I must say…there are many DSP’s from this new Annual Catalog that make me smile….so I thought that I would pick something that might not be as that “instant wow” to you when you have picked up the catalog to see the new offerings!
The DSP that I am using today come from the Best Routes and the Animal Expedition collection! Being that I am a super clean and simple kinda gal…I love prints like these that are “classics” as I find that they will work for many projects that I might make! The other great thing about both of these is…they are both part of Stampin’ Ups! buy 3 get 1 free offering during the month of July!….
You’ve gotta a lot of hopping to do today so let’s get into the beauty and simplicity of todays card! This is a card that I like to refer to as a “formula” What is a formula? Well…..they are your friends as a formula is a “recipe if you will” that you can pull out time and time again…make some changes with the DSP and/or stamp….and POOF – you have whipped up another masterpiece!
Today’s formula fun is using the Friendly Expressions Stamp as well as the framelits as my accent/embellishment from the Stained Glass Thinlit Dies. This stamp set it just the cat’s meow as the fonts and sentiments hit a grand slam…(a true MUST HAVE for your stamp collection!!!)
I am a stamper that loves to share tips and tricks along the way….always! I firmly believe that this is how we learn. There are so many different ways that we can make it easier for us when we sit and create.
I am all about ease and I know that many of you do not use this secret weapon….the Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets! Another must have product for your stash!
This is a $10.00 investment that you will be thankful that you have! It is a super thin adhesive that you put on your cardstock BEFORE you run your die through “Mr. Big” and then PRESTO….you have adhesive on your detailed die…that all you have to do is remove the backing and once again, POOF – you are a happy stamper!
The biggest misconception I think many stampers have is the fact that they feel like they need to use the whole darn sheet at one time! NO…NOT AT ALL! I simply take a piece of scrap the size I need…peel the top part of the adhesive sheet back and then place the scrap of cardstock on the adhesive!
Next, I like to re-cover the piece of scrap with the sheet that says Sizzix (see below picture) and then trim away just what I need. This step helps to not get your scissors icky!
The other tip is, use the paper piecing tool after you run the shape through (especially with such a delicate die like this) to grab the release paper and again, POOF – you have adhesive ready for you to give it a good and firm press….with no mess!
I know that many of us find it hard to create a masculine card…but this is a card that I am sending to my middle peep James as he just started a new job! We all know what it is like to get something handmade…something unexpected….and hopefully from “dear old Mom” will even make it that much more special to him!
Because this is going to a “guy” I thought that this BEAUTIFUL die would be the perfect accent for some dimension and interest to this clean and simple card. I snapped a quick picture for you to see that it is as easy as this….just eyeball where you want the “peeking out” to be under the sentiment!
How about the FORMULA for you! Yep, this is another tip that I would do today. I would find some “me time” and recreate this card using whatever you have and then write the formula down on your sample. For me, this IS the easiest way to not only get the feel of creating it…but now you have your very own recipe that you can file away just like you do in your kitchen!
Feel free to email me if you have any questions. To me, you simply can’t go wrong with keeping things super clean and simple. They beauty of this type of a design is…IF you choose to fru-fru it up with either some ribbon, sparkle etc…you can easily do that….but if you want it to go out the door like this….you can do that with pride as well!
- Card Base is a regular A-2 (5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″) in Thick Whisper White. (I always use the thick weight for my bases) and then I covered the front with a piece of Basic Gray. I love a card that has “substance and weight to it”
- The white matting rectangle is 5 1/4″ X 4″
- The Strips of DSP are 1 1/4″ X 3 7/8″. To make the adhering these easier and straight…I use green glue to place them as I have time to wiggle them around if needed…..but please, do not stress over being perfectly straight…..just do your best – after all, it is – JUST A CARD!
- The sentiment piece is 4″ X 1/2″ and then the mat is a wee bit bigger at 4 1/8″ X 5/8″
- In the last picture you will see that I popped this piece up as I think we all agree upon this….simple dimension makes a huge difference to our projects!
- The envelope…..I do love my envelopes! I made my very own with the help of the Envelope Punch Board! Not only is it super easy, it is a “statement piece” as there just is something special when you see an envelope that is not just white!
There you go my friends – another fun card that will be the win-win for not only you….but for the recipient as well! That is exactly how I like to make my projects….duplicatable and classic. Have FUN today on the hop and please feel free to leave me a comment on how you like this formula card!
Now it’s time to use the Blog Hop Line-up below to see what the rest of my Pals have chosen as their “favorite”. Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations.
Mark your calendars for August 8, 2018 when we Cut it Out! Participants will showcase projects featuring “cuts” from punches, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits. . Don’t miss the fun.

I am so glad that you popped by and I must admit, it feels great to do a Blog Hop again (I was afraid I was going to forget all of the in’s & out’s) but now it is time for me to go hopping and see all of the great ideas out there! This is one thing that is just the BEST in what we do…being inspired by others!
Below is the line up of products that I used for todays card! I am super excited to send it and remember, this “formula” for a card is a true blue keeper…just change the DSP used….perhaps the color and/or sentiments and you are good to go! Have a great day and thanks for “hopping in”!
