The Pals Paper Art Challenge is back this week and it is a color challenge! I confess ~ I had such a hard time with this one as all my mind kept think about was "fall cards" and then I finally walked away and when I came back to work…my Mojo was going!
Here is the palette of colors and I hope that you not only see what the other team designers came up with, I hope that you play along too! I know that there is so much incredible talent out there…please consider playing – if you need help uploading a picture, please email me and I will be happy to help you!

I know that I have said this before in past blog postings, but I feel like we cannot forget the Annual Catalog and when I had my “mental block” I thought….go to the annual catalog and take look!
For those of you that like clean and simple…than this post is for you! This layout could be adapted with many other sentiments like….Way to go ~ Happy Birthday etc… It is amazing that these simple little banners can create something so festive.
This stamp set, Banner Banter comes as a bundle….true you could easily snip out these banners but a punch makes it so much faster and remember, you’ll save an instant 15%!
Today I stamped the banners on white paper with the respected inks but it is also great to stamp on the same color of card-stock and the same ink – a totally different feel!
Here you go with the dimensions and some tips and tricks for you to make this card yourself.
- The base is the whisper white note card and I know…I know – there are many of you that do not like this size and I need to say….”I do not get it?” it is a SUPER-DE-DUPER product and not only is it super affordable (20 note cards and matching envelopes of $6.00) the weight of the paper is just like the thick white card stock….
- The white layer is just a “smidge” smaller, (4 7/8” X 3 3/8”)
- To create the banner string….(I cheat a bit) ~ it is so simple, I simply adhere the white bakers twine around the mat (not worrying about it is it perfect at all) and then I used stampin’ dimensionals on the different banners to fill it in!
- For the ends ~ easy-peasy….just take a piece of bakers twine (3 of them) just long enough that you can make it in a knot and then glue dot it in place!
- The sentiment is from the Bravo Photopolymer Stamp Set and because you can see through it, a clean and easy stamp every time ! (Don’t you adore this font)
- On the “plain Jane Chocolate Chip banners”, I jazzed them up with some simple stitchin’ with my old faithful, the white gel pen and then added the other old faithful, the itty bitty punches!
- What’s not to love than fun polka dots to line an envelope? This is from the super popular Designer Series Paper Stack in the Subtles Collection
Well as the saying goes…that’s all folks, one fun, clean & simple card that I am sure anyone would love to see in their mailbox! That is simply the BEST feeling in the world to open your mailbox and see a familiar handwriting and a handmade card….The card and sentiment would be a great one to keep on hand and you could have fun with a huge array of different color schemes….for those "just in case times".
Please pop over to the Pals Paper Art Site and see the fun that is going on and then I hope that you are able to carve some time out to create a project using these 3 colors!
Feel free to email me and I hope that this simple card makes you see that SIMPLE WORKS! Now go have a GREAT DAY!

This is one ADORABLE card. I absolutely LOVE this idea!
Adorable. I love thisf font it could carry the card on its own.
I agree, Susan. The smaller notecards with matching envelopes are great for projects just like yours here.
Sometimes you just want to send a short message. And I love the bitty banners! Thanks so much for sharing!
Making banners just got easy for me! Thanks for the tips! Cute card. I love how you outlined the brown paper!
Adorable card and love the banners! I, too, like the notecards and have been using them to make thank you cards to have on hand. Perfect size!
This card is so cute and the colors are great! I love it when I see a card made from things I have and haven’t used!
I have that bundle and forget to use it but do love it! Your “super-de-duper” card makes me want to go make this! I love the size of it!
I’m not good about sending cards, I just love to make them. That card is so cute, it’s just begging to be sent to someone. Gotta work on the sending part. Thanks so much for your perky attitude and great designs. Love this one!
Love love my Baby Banner Punch and note cards too! This is a cute cute card and the font on that Bravo is so curly and special !
That card is a “Smile” in an envelope !
Adorable card Susan! I love the clean look! The details really kick it up a notch:-)
Fun card and so adaptable to other colors and occasions! Gotta love that! The brown banners are made funner (is that a word?) by punching the little star and your stellar white penned dashes and dot on the start paying more homage to BRAVO!
At card club we made a banner and I made mine just like yours adhering the twine first. Those around me was still fussing with laying it on there and then trying to adhere the banners while keeping it straight etc. So, I was done faster than them and looked better too! I only knotted about an 1/2″ made letting that hang. I can try your ends next time for another fun look. Our banners were just plain punched out of colored cardstock. I think I will dig out my pen or some markers and add some stitching and a little punched heart too. Thanks for the added inspiration!
Bravo is right! This is adorable and the banner is so festive!
LOVE your card ! TFS !
Love it.
🙂
Cute card, Susan. I love the simplicity of it.
This couldn’t be more adorable with the sweet banners and this rockin’ color combination!
Susan, as usual you pulled off such a fun, but clean card! You are the master.
I do love it! Such fun!
I have not made any cards in months. Like, since Convention. Things have been busy, but I’ve also been in a card funk. I need to get out of the funk! Since all my stuff got lost, I am going to need to go to the store just to be able to use what I do have–my clear blocks were in the lost shipment! What a crazy situation!
Have a nice weekend!
Cyberhugs!
Not only is the card so sweet, it is a great sketch for other CAS cards for so many occasions. Love it…
Beautiful, colorful banner!
Super cute!
Super cute card Susan! I love how you balanced the colors and utilized the white space on the card.
You nailed it! Great card and it’s not “fall”! I need to remember to use that set / punch more often.
