Woot-woot…here is to a NEW week and lets all make it a GREAT week. In continuing the gift guide inspiration for you – today we are going to take the focus of the "tags" from the weekend and make them into a different and equally fun twist!
Please make sure that you go back and see yesterdays post on the tags. I added it later in the day because of my camera not cooperating (and I still am not happy with my pictures today)
Perhaps "tags" are not your style so let me inspire you to be totally hip and go for the square look! I think these little cards are fun to make and they are an extra touch that people always love receiving! You will see the theme is continuing on from the weekends post!
I suggest that you make these in the same fashion – be a Boy Scout and BE PREPARED….you'll be happy and they making process will go super smooth. I wanted to package them in a box so it gave the real fun feeling of a "gift" and I always think it is fun to jazz up the box!
Have fun with using what you have on hand to jazz up your box and also the same for making your cards! I know one thing that we all have in common, many spools of ribbon and many stacks of gorgeous DSP paper. USE IT UP!!! (does this sound familiar) Trust me, you will feel sooooooo good using up products that you have because guess what – there will always be more new and fun products coming down the pike!
I do recommend if you have the thick white card stock to use that as the stability of it is simply the best. (I honestly believe that once you get used to using it, you will never go back) and being able to purchase the adorable 3" X 3" envelopes…..wowzers a win`win. I think that many times we forget that we sell them. I find them super handy and I always have a pack on hand!
I think making a fun gift project like this works so well with our paper stacks…remember, you can use every little piece of scraps to use on tags….hopefully you could see that from the weekends post….nothing wasted!
Let's talk about scraps….in a nutshell I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with them.
I know that I feel so much better when I use them up and if I find that I am getting LOADED up on small pieces…..trust me – CLOSE YOUR EYES AND THROW THEM AWAY!
I try to use as much as I can but I think the "crafter" in us sets in and we keep every little piece and then we get stressed – PURGE!!!!
I hope that you have enjoyed the twist for today showing the adorable 3" X 3" cards set….it is the same (kind of) but then again, a different twist from the weekend post. You know what your friends would enjoy more….tags or cards, you simply cannot go wrong either way!
I simply cannot believe how much I have used this Real Red envelope paper….it is so darn affordable, no need to use up your DSP as I think the effect is just as effective! Clean and crisp and being able to have the envelope liner framelit – EASY-PEASY!
Please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know…..would you be more likely to make the "tag" idea or the 3 X 3 cards? I am an email away if you need me and I look forward to a great week ahead!
Below you will see many of the goodies that I used to make this great post today! Shop away….it sure is easier shopping here than fighting the stores!

Love the idea of these gift enclosure cards, as well as the tags. We always need ways to use every last scrap of our precious papers. Would you share the instructions/ dimensions for the box? Your Mason jar idea for presenting the tags is adorable. I think your pictures were fine. It may be the yellowish hue from the table that is throwing you off. Maybe a plain white background???
Love these little cards! Ditto for instructions on the box; it is the perfect presentation for these cards!
Oh Susan that is a hard one, because I would make them both as gifts. I like the idea of the mason jar for the gift tags. As always thank you for sharing. Blessings
Love, love, love this! Adorable cards as always! A friend of mine was retiring and moving away from here so knowing that she always admired my cards I made her something similar with bday, thank you, thinking of you, etc. all boxed up. The smile and gratitude I received made me feel so great inside and her appreciation of my homemade cards was the cherry on top! Hugs!
These cards are adorable, Susan! What a great continuation from your weekend posts. I am much more likely to make tags versus your cards today, but you’ve inspired me to try the square cards today. Thanks! Happy Monday!
These are super cute, Susan, and you’ve done a wonderful job with the Presentation! Just remember that since the cards are small, extra postage will be required to mail them. I know it doesn’t make sense, but they are non-machinable as a letter, that’s why. Letters have to be at least 3 1/2 high and 5 long to be regular postage. The postal clerk at my local P.O. gave me a Shape-Based Pricing Template complete with slots so I wouldn’t have to wonder any longer about whether my cards would need the extra postage.
You know I love the 3×3 cards and this is no exception. I just reversed my idea of making some cards since these are soooo cute. I am going to make me some of them BUT for the people who live away from me and I never see I hand write a letter customized to that person. I have cute little holiday stationary. So, I can write my letter and just fold it like I would normally and go ahead and use a regular envelope for regular postage. I can decorate the envelope a little too. Part of the fun is the making of the cards anyway. I am going to make some with tags on them but make them this size. I found a pad of stationary with the big gold polka dots on it that goes with a previous DP and that will be fun with some of your ideas. Though I love my green colors, I want to use some of my papers I have.
Yes, box info please if not a video on making it!
Isn’t the Antique Tags a hostess set? Wouldn’t it be FaBOOlis (as in the other hostess set) that SU would let us buy the hostess sets after they are retired? I loved both of the sets in the holiday catalog. My local SU demo gave me a few of the images in photo two since she knew I wanted them. She had borrowed a set from a friend of hers. So, I can make two cards at least. Then, the 3×3 envelopes I do have I can make a set of them and pop them into the square pillow box since I splurged and bought that die. Boy, do I have my work cut out for me! At least it will be fun work!
Another request for box info pls 🙂 I think my friends would like the cards more but I love the tags in the mason jar!
Love these!! You are such a great inspiration–thanks for that! How about sharing the box instructions—Please! It’s perfect!
Super cute Susan! Terrific idea to make 3 x 3 cards.
I would probably make both. But if I had to choose, I’d probably make the cards first. I do dearly love the box set for it. I also echo the request of other posters for the dimensions and instructions if possible. Such a wonderful gift idea. Thank you for all you share. Your kindness is amazing.
