Here you go….the STEPPED UP version of yesterday’s card…There are just a couple of changes but I think that my vote is for this one….what do you think? I do not think that you could go wrong with either one but I am leaning towards this one! Please leave me a comment and let me know which card suits your fancy!
I hope that you are not getting tired of these 2 day posts and if you want a switch up…PLEASE let me know – you know me, I aim to please and if you have not subscribed to my blog, please do so on the right side bar so you do not miss a daily dose of Susan fun!
The biggest difference is that I matted the lots of labels framelits! Here is a GREAT TIP…..it is TOTALLY worth the investment to purchase the “nestling dies” – what do I mean? The ones that are graduated…like these!
Do you remember that yesterday I share with you that I would reveal why I used the 1/4″ strip of blushing bride? – well…the below photo should shed light to you….there are always things we have up our sleeves….isn’t creating just the best!
I also shared with you that the hardest thing to do is to match the darn flower up with the punch….well, I was just lazy and I am so glad that many of you caught this! The best video (besides having Jeannie do it for you) is from Connie Stewart – I adore her! ( I am sorry that I have searched and searched and cannot find the video/link) – hopefully someone that is reading this might have it and share.
***** Here is the link – it will be the BEST thing you have learned today!!!!****** Thank you Barbara….you made me smile and I am sure a whole bunch more!
You can see that I covered up the lines from where the paper bumped up to it with both the strip of paper and then the Bakers Twine…just call me sneaky Susan! ( I always love magicians)!
What in the world would I do without the white gel pen…I ALWAYS have a back up…just in case! Please do not stress about dots and dashes….REALLY – I think that we all have other things in our lives to worry about than that! Just DO IT!!!!!
I just love this color combination! For the framelit area I did pop it up with dimensionals so for the lower right flower leaf, I doubled a dimensional to keep the balance! I just wish that you could hold this in your hand as it is truly a beautiful card.
The lining is the same as yesterday, why not? It works perfectly! There you go my friends….another weekend of fun! You could easily change up the sentiments with a variety of choices….I am really, really warming up to the blender pens…they are super easy and I am giving it a “Scouts try” in using them…and I am liking them!
I appreciate your comments and thoughts….please let me know how you like it. This is a great stamp set and it is wonderful to be able to use just (1) stamp set to get the job done!
Enjoy the day….John and I have been working our tails off trying to make it easier on the horses to get out! Yesterday was the 1st day for 8 days that they went out and trust me…..they were fresh as firecrackers! It is a beautiful sight to see them play in the snow!
Until tomorrow…we have some “House Cleaning and Tips” to go over!

I love both but must say that the stepped up version is my fave – What a lovely card! Enjoy your day and help with the snow is on the way; 60+ degree temps tomorrow in No. Va. and I bet the same for you!
I agree that both cards are beautiful. My fav is today’s card, also. I like the matting around the framelit and the twine is a nice touch! Enjoy!
Love your Sunday card – always love when you put your dots and dashes on a card – so personalized then.
Love your stepped up versions each weekend so I hope they will continue. I’m voting for yesterday’s card as my favorite–it’s the less is more thing. However, I would add the pink mat under the white framelit. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with the other posters that today’s card is my favorite. I love these flowers and your coloring is great. I really enjoy the two-day cards showing different ways to use the same supplies. Enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts.
I love both cards, but I actually think my favorite is yesterday’s! I usually prefer the stepped up version, but there is something so clean and classic about yesterday’s card — that really appeals to me! I never tire of seeing these two days of similar but different cards. I think it’s fun to see the different options. Thanks, Susan!
These Sat/Sun posts are wonderful! I always look forward to how you Step It Up. Please don’t stop. Sunday morning wouldn’t be the same!
Dear Susan, I love both cards, I love today’s card a little bit more. I was so inspired by your card yesterday. I cased it and made three of the cards. I put another mat under mine. I also used a edge punch on two of mine .great job Susan. Have a great day. I am so glad the horses were able to play in the snow. Hugs,Ellen Hinds
Hi Susan, When I saw your card yesterday I had to wonder what you were going to do to step it up. It was already great. Now I see and I like this second one even better. I really do love the two day step it up cards and hope you won’t ever stop. It is almost always a surprise what you do. Sometimes I pretty much guess what the next step will be but like today, sometimes I just can’t figure it out. Most times I like the stepped up version better, but not always. I often stop myself when making cards because I don’t want to go overboard and mess things up, but your ideas give me the courage and inspiration to go ahead and add the extras. Sometimes for the better, sometimes not but you know it really doesn’t matter because the person who gets the card doesn’t ever KNOW there was another version. And most people are just grateful to receive a card, let alone a hand made one~! That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Have a great week and hello to all the other commenters.
Love both cards probably because pink is my favorite “girly” card! Please keep up your two day designs. This shows us how to do two designs depending on our paper supply, etc. Glad to hear your snow is diminishing and your animals get to play again.
Wow, Susan! Both of your weekend posts absolutely blew me away! We’ve had company here for about a week and I think I have them as addicted to your blog as Dan, Caleb, and I are. We (men and women alike) either gather around our computer or pass around my iPad so everyone can see your daily creations. You are SO talented. I adore your score lines at the top of yesterday’s card. I keep going back and forth on which is my favorite but we did a vote– 3 votes for yesterday’s card and 4 votes for today’s card. Please don’t ever discontinue your weekend routine…it appears unanimous from the comments that we all look forward to it. Glad the horses were able to get out to enjoy the snow. Please give Eddie our love. We’ve had him on our minds a lot of have been praying for him!
Love your “Step it up Sunday” card. It is elegant and looks more finished with the pink layer added. I am enjoying your weekend series very much. Keep up the good work, Susan!
Subtle changes that really do step this one up and I love it! These two-day cards have helped me think what could I do to step up my cards, so I hope you continue them. Glad the horses got to run outside. Hope your snow melts this warmer week.
You asked…
I REALLY LOVE the ‘step it up’ cards! It’s so much fun to see how a small change on a card can make such a big difference. Love all your cards! Keep up the great work!
I figured we would not get a stepped up version this week since I didn’t think there was anything to step up! But, you did take it up a notch – I loooooove the blushing bride strips on the sides! I liked it the other way but wow that made a big change in my eye. The baker’s twine is a fun touch too but then you didn’t do the scoring did you? Of course the dashes (faux sewing) on the blushing bride sides is always a fun touch. I think I like the flowers at the bottom placed today better so then you don’t even have to have the fancy smancy dies! Either way both cards and envelopes are so pretty and spring-like. We are to have a blizzard tomorrow but today we are bright and shiny and in the 30s or 40s.
If you want my opinion, I love these stepped up blog posts and so look forward to them!
Both beautiful but “Stepped Up” one is my favorite. So much fun to see your beautiful cards, Susan! You got me on this one, I forgot about your gel pen and actually thought you punched and stitched. Anyway that adds so very much to it. Flowers are lovely and coloring perfect. Two day cards are great! Thank you, Susan.
