Welcome to a Simple Saturday post! For those of you that are new to my blog let me fill you in what I do on the weekends! Saturdays post is called Simple Saturday and then pop back tomorrow and you will see Step it Up Sunday – the same card…just “stepped” up a bit! We all know that there are so many ways to create…I just like to share and show you how YOU can do it!
Please do not forget to subscribe to my blog so you will not miss a post! You can do so to the right of the posting. I know that many of you are still having troubles since I have switched from Typepad to Word Press, my address IS the same…www.simplestampin.com (Please let me know if you are still having issues – I do not want you to miss you my simple stampin fun)!
We are SUPER LUCKY to have so many FUN PAPERS with us right now in the Stampin’ Up! liine…I personally adore these paper stacks, WHY? = EASY…I love the size, 6″ X 6″ and I love the fact that you get (4) sheets of each pattern. This one is called Love Blossoms and it is just beautiful! I love it especially since it has so many small prints, they are super easy to work with and can make a simple card look fabulous in no time! I LOVE THAT EASY BUTTON!
You can see that for today’s card I totally let this yummy paper be the star. WHY NOT – sometimes I think that we are afraid to use the DSP in a big fashion but try it – you will be super happy as it is a H U G E time saver and guess what – it is a super simple yet very effective.
Be EASY on yourself…SIMPLE works just fine!!!
The card base is a Notecard size and then I just went down 1/4″ on both the white and also the DSP. The sentiment is from the super fun and popular set from the annual catalog called Sheltering Tree….please do not forget about these wonderful sentiments in this stamp set – they are perfect as I have shown you today but they are also perfect for an inside message.
I hope that this card brought a Saturday smile to your face! Simple, Fun & DONE! The Sweetheart Punch was a quick POP and then of course I could not resist…..little dots around to make it special!
Please do not be afraid to cut out a sentiment like this….just stamp it and then cut around – I like this when I do not want to think about being straight or looking for a framelit that might work. WOW – that sounds lazy but this does work and this is a fun and effective way to showcase a sentiment!
I need to say a HUGE and HEARTFELT THANK YOU for all of the sweet comments and emails I have received over the loss of sweet Norman. My heart was full and my eyes were wet reading them and I appreciate each and everyone of them. Again, thank you for being you.
Most of you know that we live in Maryland and if you have seen the news you know that we are right in the middle of this snow storm. I waited for this post to go off a bit later to share with you what we woke up to this morning!
The below picture is the beautiful sky I was able to “take in” yesterday morning when going down to the barn and then the next picture is what I woke up to today. We have a balcony off of our bedroom look – we are at 20″ now and still going!
I am hitting the send button to you all and then “SUITING UP” – to make the trek to the barn…all of the horses are in the barn and from what it looks like – they will be there for many days! I am crazy to do what I do but I love it! The dogs LOVE the snow but they cannot go out to play until we make a path as it is too deep – trust me, that will not stop a Jack Russell from having fun!
Poor Daisy is MISERABLE – pigs do not like to be cold and they definitely do not like SNOW….she’ll be fine ….just make a path for her she does her business and then grunts and groans the whole way back to warmth – she is ONE LUCKY PIG!
Be safe…have fun today and I am being SUPER careful as I want this to be a healthy year for me! After this barn thing – you bet I’ll be doing what we all love – STAMPING UP A STORM!
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow…..
p.s. = SNOW UPDATE….2 hours after the above picture…26″ = We are coming in from round #1 – horses are happy – Daisey is miserable …..but we have power!!!!

Stay safe in your crazy weather. You’re having what we normally get here in Vermont. Not this year!!
Such a cute card and so “Susan”. My little Girl Scouts have learned to identify your work from the 3 dots and the dash or dot outlines. They are big fans, too!
Hi Susan, Well we got your storm too. I can’t believe the wind! This card is so cute and warm. I do love your dots and your use of the DSP. You always put a smile on my face.
🙂
Wonderful valentine! Stay in warm and safe! Love the sunrise picture too. I live in Kentucky. Snow accumulation is rare. We have 15 inches!! Eeeek! Daisy is one lucky pig!
Beautiful card and, as always, love your dots! We have the same snow storm here in Jersey….just got done doing some “chores” now it is off to the craft room for some paper fun! Later we are going out to have some “fur fun” with my son and his pup! Stay safe.
I love the 6×6 paper stacks too! Because the images are usually smaller than on 12×12 they fit cards better I feel.
Good to know you are cozy and warm and have a day of papercrafting to enjoy. Stay safe!
The “Love Blossoms” paper is a real winner. I think SU really hit a home run with this one as the designs are so sweet. I have used several sheets from the series and have loved all my finished projects. Wow! 26 inches of snow is an amazing thing. I always love the first first few hours after the snow stops, before everyone has to get out, and try to scoop it off, and get back to the real world. It is so amazingly quiet and beautiful. So glad you still have power. Will be thinking of you and your brood.
Stay safe, warm and dry! Would Miss Daisey wear a coat type thing outside? Boy, and I complain when we have 7 or 8 inches at a time!
O.k. on to the fun card! At first I didn’t like the DP – something just didn’t click but I have warmed up to it. Maybe because I used to have a skirt with those two colors. It, too, was a small print. Anyway, I am wondering how you will step it up tomorrow. I like the punched out heart and I guess it could be stepped up a bit but it is fun with just little dashes to trim it out.
Cute card. Can’t wait to see how you step it up tomorrow. Your pictures sure bear out the old saying, “Red sky in morning, sailors take warning…” We got our share but not as much as they were calling for, which is ok. Thankful for no loss of power and hope the same for you.
Great card, Susan. You are definitely the queen of the white gel pens. I have the Sheltering Tree stamp set and love this sentiment. Thanks for reminding me to use it on Valentines. Beautiful sunrise. Here in Delaware we have gotten a winter’s worth of snow from this storm. You are a real trooper to go to your barn and take care of your animals. We are so thankful we haven’t lost power, as many other posters. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s card to see what changes you make.
Such a cute card, Susan. I love the simplicity as well as the little details. I hope you were able to weather the storm without too much difficulty. We will be digging out tomorrow. I also have to dig a path for my daschund, Tess and she, like Daisy, hates the snow. So she probably won’t poop again until spring!
As soon as I saw that ruler sticking out of the snow I thought “Is that a YARD stick?! Oh yuck!” And yes it is and yes I still mean ‘oh yuck.’ Your card has a great WOW factor. That background is so busy that the open white heart is perfect for this and all the poked holes mimic the dots in the paper.
