I guess that you could say…..“Same Church, different pew” as I have made some changes from yesterdays card to change it up a bit and then you can see which one you like better! At 1st glance you might think that there are some major changes but they really are not.
Color is a BIG factor in what we do and trust me – I ADORE WHITE….but today you can see that I used the Tip Top Taupe as my base and it gives the card a totally different feel….do you agree? This is a great neutral color as you can easily write with a black pen and it is easy to read so there is no reason to add a mat of white to the inside!
Here you go…..
Today I added a 1″ stripe of black paper across the center of the card before I added the matted DSP like I did yesterday! Isn’t it amazing at how this simple touch adds an instant feeling of depth?
Also, to the stamped image I used a 2″ white circle and just matted that behind a wee bit and then used a 2 1/2″ Black Circle to really make a statement. After adding my dashes with the must have white gel pen I took a bit of adhesive to the back of the black circle and then added some of the FUN silver thread – I think little touches like this are super quick…take NO EXPERTISE…..and WOW – a fun look and feel!
You can see that it is basically the same card and they both truly would take about the same amount of time to make up. It all comes down to personal preference and what you are in the mood for when you sit down to create!
I know that we all have a TON of PAPER – let’s pull this paper out and put it to use. I hope that this 2 day posts has shown you that you can easily take a DSP print and make it work. True the stamping adds a bunch but do you know what is the most important part?
YOUR WORDS INSIDE….that is the important part!
I adore your comments and I am excited to her how you like this card. This is a fabulous collection (pages 38&39) in the Occasions Catalog and I can see it being used for many, many different cards!

Of all the Simple / Step It Up cards you have created, this is the first time I truly like both and cannot pick a favorite. I do like taupe and black together, but your white background card was super too. The sun has come out here. It will give us a false sense of warmth. It’s as it is -4 this morning. A good day to cook and craft.
Love both cards, but I’m liking today’s card a bit more. The taupe refines the card just a little more for me. Thanks for the inspiring words and ideas.
Well, I like a combo of the two cards. I like the black mat from yesterday rather than the white. Just my preference I guess. Plus the little black candy dot looks cute on yesterday’s version. Yet, today I really like the mat to the globe in black with the cute white dashes. Also, I think the tip top taupe as the base card is better too now that I think about it. It is still light enough to stamp a sentiment inside or write a note etc. The silver thread is sort of hard to see but I think it would add just a fun touch of texture and could double as airplane trails. If Mike was up here he could tell you the technical term for airplane exhaust that you see in the sky. With his love of history and geography, planes and such I really should think about this set for him, Plus the sale-a-bration set. I wonder if that would justify a $50 purchase to get that free? Ummmmm
I really need to borrow your brain to step some things up, you really have the know how! I confess it took me forever to find that silver thread you were talking about and then once I saw it I couldn’t figure out how I missed it!
My favorite step up addition is the round circle behind the white and stamped circles. That black and white dashes just pops so much, to me. I also like the TTT card base.
🙂
A stunning card. I could use your brain also if you don’t mind when Princess Judy is done using it.
Seriously, I really like the way the whole card looks.
I agree with the others…both cards are stunning and it is a hard choice to pick a fav. The color choices and layout for both work so well. “Golf clap” to you, Ms. Susan! Also, I was super excited to receive my shares from you this weekend. So fun! Time to play!
Both cards are great, Susan, but my favorite one is today’s card with the Tip Top Taupe and black strip of paper with your famous white stitching really make today’s card pop. I love the world stamp. It’s going on my wish list.
