Good Monday morning and whew……yesterday was a super fun day but it was an exhausting day….I guess that goes with the territory as it is time to hit the road…and it will be a long trek ahead but I will have my 2 main men with me….Milo and Stanley!
I deeply appreciate your patience with my blog while I have been away but I tried my best to keep it going. It was a juggling act trying to fit posts in with the other responsibilities I had but I managed to do it and many of you have asked me how I did it.
Here are some pictures that will show you how I “set up shop” and the house that we rented actually worked out great! When I was able to play with paper and ink, it was nice and bright area….which I adored every bit of sunshine I could get!
I naturally had LARGER EYES on what I wanted to accomplish and truly play for myself….but that’s ok …three will always be time! I really kept it to the basics as those are what we need to have to make fun projects!
Below is the work area….every thing was at my finger tips….I tried to label you the highlights but one that I want to point out that I adore…..very inexpensive plastic baskets that you can get at a dollar store….I like them because they will stack if you want but I like to have one with my dimensionals, one with my snails, one with glue dots etc…..to me, it keeps the things we reach for neat and tidy.
Time to slide over to the kitchen area….because this was a rental there really was not much at all in the kitchen cabinets and that worked perfectly for me. I was able to hide all of my goodies but still have them handy for my needs!
I am a huge believer that it is so important to take great card of our precious products….the stamp pads should lay flat and at home I have a Stamp-n Storage Wall Mount holder but the drawer worked just fine! I kept them in the color families for me to find what I needed quickly!
It was super easy for me to just grab and go when I left home of all of my dies and embossing folders. I love my caddys from Stamp-n-Stoage and the Big Shot sat on a kitchen counter….a perfect height!
PAPER….this is probably the one thing that is a super key element to our needs. For my White and Very Vanilla…..I had a caddy that held all of my pre-cut bases and mats….I blog about this last Tuesday and it truly was a game changer for me when I started to do this!
All of my DSP is in a holder that sits on my shelf so that was super easy….grab and go!
The solid pieces….that was a bit harder as I had limited space so I decided to just purchase packs of paper and it was PERFECT! When I get home I will fill in the solid sheets to my others and then file my scraps!
Picture taking…this seems to always be a “hot topic talk” with those that blog but here you go….below you will see my fancy high tech area that I took my pictures…Sometimes a girl just has to do what we have to do….and this worked great for me!
That it my friends….my eyes are super heavy and I have a long day ahead. I thought that you would enjoy the last 2 pictures….Milo truly loved being a Horse Show dog and was perfect in every way. He ADORES Hannah and he would jump in the back of the truck and sit on Hannah’s saddle…..too darn cute!
Here is a picture of Stanley LOVIN’ life as after he competes and comes back from getting a bath etc….he gets to stand in ice boots for 30-45 minutes….horses love it as it comforts their legs after working so hard. He is a wonderful young horse and it has been a fun journey to be able to see Hannah work with him to bring him to where he is now.
I love my boys and can’t wait to see my other boys in a couple of days!!!! Hey Caleb…..Eddie is doing GREAT – the minute I get home I will take a picture of him…

Safe travels, Susan! How long does it take for you to get home?
Your supply organization is impressive for such a period of time! ? You did a wonderful job keeping your blog going!
Great organization and control of what is necessary to bring. Very impressive! Love the pics of Milo and Stanley….have safe travel home.?
Thanks for sharing and thanks especially for making that extra effort to share with us every day. I not only loved the cards, I loved being on your journey with you. Godspeed.
There’s no place like home! You did amazingly well to keep us all happy while you were off having an adventure. I feel a little guilty (like a spoiled child) that we didn’t give you some time off. I enjoyed today’s pictures and I especially appreciate how organized you are. It speaks volumes of who you are including Milo on your adventure and I adored seeing Stanley too. He is beautiful. Travel safely, Susan. Will be thinking of you as you make your way north!!!! ?
I love hearing how you decided what to take and how you stayed organized and efficient!! You did a wonderful job of keeping up with your blog. Thanks for all of your wonderful card ideas and for taking us with you on your journey! Love the pics of Milo and Stanley – safe travels ??
Today’s post was great to find out how you organized everything so you could keep posting beautiful cards everyday for us. You are amazing. Loved the pictures of Milo and Stanley in his ice boots. Be careful on your way home.
Safe travels home! My goodness you were so organized! I didn’t realize you had rented a house even though I think you mentioned it before but it didn’t sink in. I can’t even organize my stuff to go from the junk, er – I mean craft room to go downstairs and make a card. I have to make a trip or two back upstairs for something usually or hunt around on the table or where ever else I have stashed stuff. Oh well, that is my problem. I still am amazed with all you did with keeping up the blog, creating great stuff, and everything else!
Not sure which is cuter Stanley in the ice boots or Milo in the saddle! Happy trails!!!!
You did a great job juggling while away from home. No apologies needed. We would have understood any missed days 🙂 Milo is sooo adorable! I never knew that horses wore ice boots after competing. That’s quite interesting. Love all of your non-stamping stories and updates!
Dewar Susan, Your journey is amazing. Thank you so much for entering our daily lives with your talent every day. You are so organized. I did not realize you were gone for such a long time. You rented a house, WOW, you did a wonderful job keeping up your life and your wonderful Blog. Your Blog is so special to all of us. I love the pictures of Stanley and Milo. I also did not know that horses go into iced boots. I learn so much from you. Please have a safe trip back to your home. I will keep all of you in my prayers as you al travel home. May God Keep you all safe. Hugs, my wonderful Friend. Ellen Hinds
Dear Susan, I goofed again. I was trying to type Dear Susan. But what came out was Dewar. Please forgive me. Love, Ellen Hiinds
Im very impressed how you were able to keep your blog going away from home. Caleb wants to know if Hannah crafts with you when she is there? Milo looks so happy to be there with you. When you rescued him for your elderly friend you didn’t have any idea he was really meant for your family–it’s the “happily ever after” to his story. On another note, your buddy Caleb has been sick with influenza since last Thursday. His fever finally broke last evening but he had us quite worried for awhile. This afternoon he has perked up and is getting back to his smiley, giggly self. Yay! He says he’s excited to see the picture of Eddie, and he loved the picture of Stanley getting iced! Wishing you safe travels!
Hi Susan, It has been raining all day here. It was so nice reading you blog and relaxing with a cup of tea. Can’t believe how fast today went. I hope you made it safely to your first night’s stop.
🙂
