Good Morning and many thanks for your understanding in not blogging yesterday ~ also many thanks for he wonderful and caring comments you left on Saturday. The service was a beautiful tribute to the super sweet man that he was….it was great to have all of the family together and reliving fun memories! The peeps left and it was great to have all of them home….even under the circumstances!
(click on the below photo to see it larger)
Now let’s get to the Stepped Up version of Saturday’s card. Not huge but I think fun! I know that we have a tendency to use white or vanilla for our card bases but I encourage you to try to change it up at times….it gives a totally different look and feel and if you use a light color like this…there is no need to add a white inside as this color, So Saffron is light enough to write on!
The little bees are super cute popped up. do not worry about trying to cut the tail or antennae out….nit necessary as the one below will make it look realistic. I did use the aqua painter to color the bumble bee but you could easily use a marker to color it, I just “go to” the aqua painter!
Below you can see the changes that I did….not huge ones but you can see that it is a different look. It comes down to that time thing we often talk about.
Classic, clean and fun~ Sorry for the short post but I must say…it has been a long and busy week and I rarely say that I am pooped….but I am pooped! I hope that this card and stamp set made you smile. I adore the sentiments and it is a card that is just “one happy card”

Love the step it Sunday–Monday card, although they at both great cards.
I like the stepped up version best.
You are allowed to be pooped. Life is stressful at times like this, so be kind to yourself and take some time to chill.
I love, love, love the stepped-up card today! The black matting makes the entire picture “pop” and the colors scream bumble bees and flowers!! Another CASE is coming my way!
I’m glad all of your kids were able to come home to celebrate John’s dad; i believe those services are so important. Susan, you have been so busy lately and you deserve a break–both mentally and physically. If you hadn’t admitted to being pooped I’d think you were some super-hero human (well, I do already think you are Wonder Woman for all the fabulous stuff you come up with!). Take some time for yourself, we’ll be here when you return!. 🙂 Hugs, my friend!!
The stepped-up version has my vote for “best in show”. I always love matting and black makes everything pop. Hope you have time to enjoy some spring today and relax.
I love the stepped up version…..subtle but definitely stepped up. I love Saturday’s card too but side-by-side….wow the color of today’s adds a warmness (is that a word) that appeals to me.
Susan, I hope you can regroup this week, you deserve it. We’re having a snow day here…..the kind I like…pretty and not lasting!!!! Take care!
Ah, another card to CASE. Love the stepped up version….all the subtle changes put a “spring” in this Spring card! You must be exhausted from everything….sit back and take time for yourself and enjoy the moment. You deserve it. Hugs! ?
I, too, love the stepped up version. You’ve been through a lot recently. I hope you can relax a little before you get back into your busy life. Take care.
I can’t believe what a difference a little thing like coloring in the centers of the flowers makes in adding depth. “Stepped up” is my card choice, too. The extra layer, the 3-D bees…all of it make a happy-happy card.
I hope you can take some time to relax, regroup and reinvigorate. Thoughts and prayers always.
Well, this is a cute “Step Up” for sure ! I have this set and I love that bee ,but you have really made them pop with putting one on top of the other . SO CUTE !!!
Warm thoughts to John and you !
You ARE an inspiration! I love seeing what you do to step up, an already wonderful card. Seeing them next to each other shows such a difference. I like that you point out the changes, thought I caught them all, but missed the black center in the stepped up card. It makes a difference. It makes me want to try variations on a card, just for the fun of it. Thanks for sharing, both you and the creations.
Beeutiful! Love both but today’s is my favorite as it is such an eye catcher. First the black centers of the flowers just catch my eye. Those little popped up bees with the wings are so cute too. I love the mat or card part with it Also the little candy dots add just a fun little touch. But, the first one is still darn cute too. I still want to make a card with bees on it for my cousin and put “What’s Buzzin cuzin on it! I know she think I have lost it for sure but it will make her laugh. I am way behind on my E-mails – I had 3 migraines in 4 days and pretty much lost the whole week computer wise.
So, sorry to hear about John’s father. It is so hard to lose people you love. Hugs to you and John,
