I am happy to be back but I am so touched by the amazing comments, emails and phone calls I received over the loss of my dear friend and your blog buddy….”Eddie Itell” . I miss him so, as there were years of wonderful memories but time does heal wounds and I am doing o.k.
Today’s card is one that I sat and thought….“How can I say thank you”…we all have read the Rainbow Bridge as it is a beautiful piece. This card is for YOU that have left messages….and also I made one for our Vet and also for the wonderful friend that introduced us to Eddie….(poor guy – he was dumped off as a puppy….)
The stamp set, Over the Rainbow seemed PERFECT for today’s card….and in the past I have made a dog bone…and I just knew that I could pull them both together. The sentiment from the One Big Meaning also worked great and I love the fact that it says “us”
Because this stamp set is a photopolymer….perfect placement is easy~peasy each and every color! The Bone was made from the Owl Punch and then a strip of scraps that is 3/8″ wide by 1 1/2″…I think that it is perfect. I did take a sponge and lightly sponged the outside edges.
We feel so blessed with our Vets…and they soooooo deserve a special card of gratitude for all of the years and amazing care they always gave to Eddie and continue to give to so many. I also think that this card would be perfect with a sentiment of “I’m sorry”. I know that it is just so darn hard to find the right card at a difficult time.
Below is your 911 on the card today! I decided to add the date of the post so if there happens to be a clinch when you PIN IT…you can see the date and then do a search in my blog.
Here are some “funny pictures” that I found and had to share with you…I must say that I have enjoyed having some “me time” remember, laughing and crying…but excepting the fact that we made the right decision.
I deeply hope that you have an “Eddie” in your life….he was always a friend that I could count on…..xoxoxox
Enjoy the day…and again, many thanks for your love and caring wishes you gave to us. Our animals are a HUGE part of our life…and I thank you for loving Eddie so! I do hope to see you tomorrow…it is a SUPER FUN color challenge that I know you will smile!

I adore this card – It is PERFECT. I always include a printed version of The Rainbow Bridge when I have to send pet sympathy cards so this has extra special meaning to me. I am definitely going to give this one a try…..just hope it isn’t needed too soon. God bless you all.
… like Deb H. said … hope we don’t have to use this too soon. Glad you are doing a little bit better today.
🙂
What a sweet card and such a caring think to do for your vet.
So happy you are doing ok. Your card is a bright reminder of how much joy pets can be…..especially Eddie.
Beautiful card….beautiful blog. Hugs to you my friend.?
Perfect card for your purpose. I love the colors and the bone, plus the sentiment. Missed you yesterday but I thought you probably needed some time. Take care of yourself. Have a great day.
Your card is simply beautiful; a sweet way to thank everyone who has been a meaningful part of Eddie’s (and your) life. I love the skunk picture and can just imagine him running over the pool cover for his tennis ball. What would we do without pictures in a time like this? Great to hear from you today. Hugs!
Wonderful card like Tricia said. I only have a couple photos of our dogs due to a lack of a camera but we have some great memories. Maggie, our first, we have more photos of though. Take all the time you need away from your blog. I am sure we all understand. Hugs!
What a wonderful way to say thank you/acknowledge everyone who Eddie touched. I didn’t know about the rainbow bridge until this past summer….It now comes to mind often. Memories, pictures and sometimes conversations with friends and family really help with the process of acceptance. It isn’t easy but the time factor also helps. Thanks for coming back to us, Susan! This creative blog you created means a lot to a lot of us. I hope in some way it is helping you as you process your loss of Eddie. ❤️
What a precious card. Have had you on my mind so much these days! Wish there was something to help you during these days of healing, but do hope that you know there are a lot of us here for you!
Your card is a wonderful way to say thank you to everyone at your vet/Animal Hospital. they are such special people. I am very sorry for your loss….we had to put down our beautiful “Cinder” girl suddenly right after Christmas last year and we still miss her very much. We have a great wall hanging at home.. “dogs are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole”.
I’m so sorry, my first message did not come through. I sent a series of heart images to express my hope for your peace of mind and spirit.
I’ve been traveling so just read your news today. I enjoyed your stories of Eddie and could relate to losing him. Pets can be such a special part of our lives. Glad you are doing better and have so many good memories.
I usually check your blog each day but have been busy and just got caught up- I am so very sorry about Eddie.I really enjoyed all your stories about him and his antics! We are going through the same thing, having had to put our 13 year old boxer,Jack, to sleep 2 weeks ago. My husband and I and our remaining dogs, Maggie and Willie, are all missing him so much, but we buried him on the hill out back where we know he will keep an eye on us-eventually I will plant some flowers there. The pets we love- what joy they bring to our lives! Glad you are feeling a bit better and enjoying the memories.
Susan, my heart goes out to you with the loss of Eddie. We lost our Jack Russell, Nugget on April 1st, 2014. She was a little over 13 years old. When you have had a Jack Russell not a lot of other dogs compare. They are wonderful little family members. Hang in there.
Such a perfect card. Thank you.
that rainbow bridge card is SOOO adorable! I will have to remember that the next time I need a doggie sympathy card I know exactly what to do! Thanks for sharing the card and for sharing stories of your little guy.
