Good Morning and many thanks for the comments yesterday and sending John Birthday wishes…we did have a great day together and it is wonderful to see him take a deep breath and not be so stressed. For those of you that are involved with a CPA firm, than you know what I am talking about….Tax Season is the pits….easy as that!
Before we get to what I want to talk about….John ADORED and burst into laughter about the comment that Ann said: His reply – take her a walk!!!???? Maybe only to the grill!
There has been lots of ?’s and I am sure that you have receive a ton of emails from amazing SUD’s from all over….as this is an exciting time and darn I wish that you could see the catalog…as it is a “keeper” and I think that you all are going to love it!
Below you will see the links for you to click on and see. Because I do not have a physical Catalog in my hands…it has taken me some time to let it “sink in” so I want to best explain the process of what Stampin’ Up! does when they unveil a new catalog.
Here is a handy PDF that you can print off….(I find it easy to go through the catalog and really see the changes!
I also try to put myself in the shoes of someone that is new to Stampin’ Up! as I can give you an analogy of being a party and no one introduces you to people because they figured that you knew them????(sound familiar to anyone…..I dearly adore John but he is the worst when we go to business functions together)
Monday, the below lists were unveiled to me and you. Because I can see the new catalog on line (darn, it is hard to scroll through but I’m making the most of it) and it has taken me some time to have some light shed to my little Simple Susan brain!
The stamp sets ~ Stampin’ Up! will continue to produce retiring stamps through May 21 so please take a look and see if there are some goodies that you really want!
Bundles ~ when you see items that are bundles on the retired list….that does not necessarily mean that the stamp set and coordinating product that was grouped together to make it a bundle is being retired…it just means that they are no longer “bundled” and we know what that means…a 15% discount to you. This is why IF you want one of the bundles that I have listed in the supplies at the end of the post…I would snatch them up now as naturally you will save 15%. (darn, it is hard to put into words….I hope that this makes sense)
So “reading between the lines”, the products listed in the bundles below will be sticking around…they just will NOT be in a bundle form!
Everything Else – now this is a whole different ballgame…this is a HOT area as this is the WHILE SUPPLIES LAST area….so if you are on that fence – HOP OVER!
My top 3 picks that are MUST HAVES: (I will continue to share with you over future posts some other products that I think are ones to watch and act on)
Envelope Liner Framelits – I will never understand this one…hopefully they will reconsider….(fingers crossed)
Craft Scissors – They are THE BEST scissors in the world – I have 2 – one for Paper, the other for Ribbon (cuts ribbon amazingly) and I admit…I purchased some extras for gifts and hmmmmmm maybe Blog Candy someday – you never know!
White Gel Pen – YIKES…what???? really?????? I just figured this one out last night and I am in dashes and dots mourning!
Clearance Rack – you are used to this one…but keep a watch on it as Stampin’ Up! will add more items in there. They do usually notify us and you betcha that we will give you the heads up on it…
Whew…I know that this was a lot to take in but I do hope that it was help to you. Please email me if you need help ~ I know that it can be overwhelming but it will be ok….trust me, you are going to love the new kids on the block!
Please pop back tomorrow as I have one of the retiring stamps that I am sad about (bet you can guess it) 😥 and a quick video for you teaching you how I use the aqua painter with it.
Remember, with a $35.00+ order from me this month, you will receive a super cute card from me and with a $75.00+ order you will get 2 gifts, the card and an Aqua Painter……tomorrow you will see how easy it is….it is your friend…not a big bad scary monster!
Thanks for hanging in there through this explanation….just want you to be “in the know” 🙂

Thanks, Susan, for this info. So glad you and John could enjoy a day together and he’s now able to let his hair down a little. Have a great day! Enjoy this beautiful weather.
I do have a question. Is there a way non-demonstrators can see if an item is sold out before we order it? Thanks so much.
I think the stamp being retired that you are most sad about is the watercolor thank you. I agree with you that it is crazy that they are retiring the envelope liner framelits. Could they be thinking that they want us to use more envelope paper and the envelope punch board? But then I realize they continue to sell envelopes. Besides the envelope paper works well with the liners. Also, why discontinue the replacement parts for a product they will continue to sell. ( the trimmer)? Also, why discontinue the braver, a great coloring tool. The new brayer serves a different purpose. i guess some things are just not knowable!
🙂 Good Morning, I was shocked about the craft scissors. I think you are sad about the Lil’ Lamb being retired. 🙁
Now if we knew how they decided how and what to discontinue things. Some things just make no sense. I can’t decide if they just want to mess with our heads or if some errant ex-SU employee will be selling all the stuff on Ebay or some site that we all loved, wanted, or need! Honestly, the SU trimmer blades when they will still sell the trimmer which is the best? Maybe the supplier quit making them? Just tell us why! My dad always said it was a Communist plot when things like this happen!
Oops, forgot to laugh about John’s comment. I bet there would be some mighty small riblets or baby back ribs! Poor Daisey, dad is always picking on her!
Also, not sure if the stamp will be Watercolor Thank You or not but I am sure there are a few of your favorites disappearing.
I’m going to guess you are sad about saying good bye to Sassy Salutations. My take on no more envelope liner framelits is they are going to push the In Color envelope paper and the envelope punch board. PS. I think I’m going to like the new In Colors.
Happy belated birthday, John!!
I did purchase those scissors and they are awesome. Love them. Especially nice for trimming my envelopes when I adhere card stock to the flap (I prefer this cheerful addition rather than using envelope liners.) I used them last weekend when someone’s trimmer didn’t make a perfect cut and they did the trick. I thought I saw a video or tutorial for making envelope liners with the envelope board on Pinterest?? Speaking of Daisey, it’s been a while since you’ve shared a photo of her. I love Daisey pictures 🙂 she makes me smile!!
Thanks for all the info, Susan. I agree with many of the others….some discontinued items just don’t make sense unless there are compatible ones in craft stores and coupons can be used. Ah, the anticipation of the new catalog may shed some light hopefully. Yes, please share some Daisey photos!
Hi Susan,
We are always sad and dumbfounded by SOME of the choices; but I suppose if we were in charge, some people would feel the same about our choices. About the white pen…DO NOT dismay. Google it (Pen Gel uni-ball Signo White), and you’ll see that you can purchase it in a lot of places for a lot less. As a demonstrator, I always buy SU, but sometimes one has to get creative with some other company’s product. I’ve noticed how much you use the white pen, and beautifully I might add, so you’ll have to go outside the box like you do with the “Stick It” product. By the way thanks for introducing us to that. Like you, I couldn’t be in Salt Lake (first year in 11 that I chose not to go). Checking out the catty online is just not the same as holding that little puppy in my hands. Soon!!! Best wishes to you.
