Good Morning – It is almost the weekend and WOW, I have had a productive week. I have had my head to the grind-stone to accomplish “bunches” that have been over my head and I am happy to say – OUT THE DOOR….and I am looking forward to a great weekend! 🙂
I have made this card before, for John’s Birthday and I had an email about the dimensions….so I thought – let’s change it up….give it a new look and feel and BAM – a fun card and one that I would recommend that you remember for the future. It is a great layout and also a great way to work with scraps!
Here is a run down on the dimensions, I know…I know – they are wonky and I am sure that you can “tweak them” but this worked for me and I never adjusted what I did. This is an example of rolling forward from the birthday card I did several months ago!
The following pictures will show you the progression of the building of the card. This works fantastically with small prints…just look at what you have and say – “GO FOR IT!”
- The card base is an A-2 card in the Vertical Mode, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/4″ in Very Vanilla
- The Mint Macaron is 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″
- The Very Vanilla Base is 4″ X 5 1/4″
- The measurements of the pieces are ~ (fish – 2 1/2″ X 2 1/4″), ~(Calypso Coral Dots – 1″ X 2 1’4″), ~ (Star Fish – 2″ X 2 1/2″) and (Mint Dots – 1 1/2″ X 2 1/2″)
- The thin Dapper Denim strips are 1/8″ wide – (LOVE OUR TRIMMER) 🙂 ( I use the green glue to adhere these little pieces)
There you go! Step by step…you can see how easy this card is to come together! I love this layout and I just adore “free-hand” cutting a sentiment like this – a trick that I used to do when I was a Creative Memories Consultant when I had a picture that did not have straight lines or (truth be told – when I messed up on cropping it) The best advice I can give you it….just go for it !
I hope that you can let this sentiment HIT YOU…“enjoy you the little thing” as those “little things” make a BIG difference! I love what I do and I hope that I inspire you to reach for the moon, you can do it!
I hope to see you tomorrow….Simple Saturday….WOOT-WOOT!

This is a super card and I so appreciate the dimensions. Thanks!
This is a good card to keep the dimensions for. Using the trimmer does work perfectly for those narrow strips! Gotta love everything about StampinUp….such a wonderful company!!!
Susan I am loving this fun card. Thank you so much for the measurements. What a great way to use some scrap DP too. Great tutorial. Thanks so much !!!!!
Love to find ways to use up scraps. I always seem to have lots of DSP after doing holiday projects. Will ad this to my “idea” file. Thanks for the dimensions. Your card is adorable.
Susan,
Love this card and the stamp set. Have seen many cards made with this stamp and the paper is also great. Have added to my list to purchase.
Great card and such a wonderful way to use those scraps. Thanks for the dimensions and inspiration. You are always so positive with your “Can do” attitude!
Cute card. Thanks for the step-by-step and measurements, which make it so easy to CASE.I love using my scraps. Have a great weekend.
What is a little wonkiness between friends? Of course I shore do love this card for the whimsy and all the fun layers of love. The piece with the bubbles going up made me smile thinking of a school of fish all breathing or singing at once. You put the star in star fish! Love all the panels and the measurements too. Enough play on words, Mike will be back from his conference late this afternoon and Ted and I didn’t get much done. Of course it is hard when you fold laundry and Ted comes and takes off with the bottom layer of socks and runs through the house with them. Sweep the carpet and then he finds a biscuit and leaves more crumbs on the carpet than he ate etc. So, I had better get busy. Best fishes for a great weekend everyone!
Love how this turned out. I appreciate the product shares because of the “fishy” paper. I wanted a “thank you” card for one of my Seniors and this wonderful card provided the inspiration I needed. Thanks.
Your card is awesome! Caleb thinks this would be the perfect card for my brother (who lives in California) so my assumption is we’ll be CASE-ing this soon. 🙂 Thanks for the measurements. Chris R., Caleb and I giggled our heads off at your comments.
I am to please leaving a smile on faces once in awhile. I had a friend in grade school. Her goal in life was to either be a comedian or go to clown school. She loved to tell jokes and dress like a clown. Now, she is a into law type things and equal rights. Here I am spreading a little ray of sunshine to a few people. Teddy sends Caleb a slobbery kiss!
Thank you for the great tips! You always have such great ideas! Thank you for sharing them with us!
Love, love, love! Great blueprint for scraps 🙂
What a fun summer card! Love the layout and the colors…..I feel very coastal right now! Have a great summer day!
Hi, I’m on my PC now. Once again I cannot comment from my iPad. AHHHHH! Can anyone help me?
