Thursday fun and today is no different especially when the sketch was crated by the SUPER FUN PAL, Maggie Mata. Maggie is always a smile maker, a “pick you up” type of person and I was super excited to play along with her fun sketch!
Below you will see the sketch and I encourage you to give it a try. Please pop over to the PPA Site and see what the other designers came up with and then look at all of the other amazing cards that people like YOU have submitted!
You will see in the line up at the end of the post all of the goodies that I used but you know how I feel about “sentiment stamp sets” – BLUE RIBBONS! This sentiment is from the Suite Sayings Set and wow, it is filled with great and useful sentiments!
The other star or should I say FUN is the festive and some call whimsical framelit from the Swirly Scribbles Framelits! I used the green glue to adhere them and then the simple PUNCH of a sweet flower from the Blossom Bunch Punch added instant depth and interest!
Stampin’ Up! has simply amazing DSP Paper and this one….Blooms & Bliss is just hands down gorgeous! Do you remember the other day that I shared with you at first I was not a fan of Sahara Sand? LOOK AT THE BASE of this card = Sahara Sand! (and I love it) 🙂
I say, thank you Maggie for this great sketch! This is what I would call a “formula” as just think of all different ways that you can interpret this sketch….I say….ENDLESS!!!
Below is your 411 for the card and I hope that you will also keep Maggie’s sketch for future cards!
The colors are super fun in this card and I hope that this shows you how to showcase the beautiful paper that we have and simple “SHOW IT OFF”….a simple sentiment like I tucked in today along with a speed diecut…makes this a fun, special and practical card!
Please pop over to the Pals Paper Art Website and see all of the great ideas, and then I hope to see YOU in the gallery! Have a great day and please do something special for yourself….or someone else, it does make a difference!

Fantastic design and combination of color and pattern. Love the swirlies tucked behind!
Loving the colors and all the fun patterns and details. I just love all those little scribbly squiggly swirlies. The pearls on the flowers really pop and the flowers just belong on there with that paper. I am really liking this DP. I had to smile as your little dots on the Sahara sand circle made me think of clock face with roman numerals! And yes, I am warming up to the Sahara sand color. Speaking of the heat (from the Sahara Desert) everyone stay cool if you are affected by the heat which we are having and it is humid as well. I hope they tug Tug Boat into the a/c as bull dogs have respiratory problems and need to keep cool!
Thanks Susan for the diamond shaped boxes. On our walk today I realized the fire dept is connected to the police dept (the building, duh!) and I wonder if they have a common break area together. Oh well, if I don’t get any more boxes, I guess they snooze – they lose? I will figure out something. I just want them to know I (and Teddy) appreciate them. If anyone is wondering what I am yakking about, see yesterday’s comment/request!
I just love your card today! I also like seeing your signature “3 dots” around the sentiment on the Sahara Sand circle! Lovely card! 🙂
I was trying to remember what Chris R. was “yakking” about when I remembered I hadn’t read my email/blog from yesterday as I had a fun family day at camp yesterday. So of course, I had to go back and see what Chris R. Is up to (you are so sweet to recognize the kindness of your local police and fire dept Chris). You know how one thing leads to another….I remembered I had to go back to the day before that for any comments you may have left in conversation, Susan…..and then I had to look at the Paper Pal page too……well here I am back again as I want to tell you how much I enjoy this card too. The beautiful blue and green makes me wish I was back up at the lake today! I could yak on, but I just now remember I need to send the pictures from yesterday to my sister!!! ??? Have a great day everyone! ?
A beautiful color combination, Susan! The swirls are the perfect touch!
Oh so pretty, Susan ?
Love love, these colors together! Pretty card!
Thanks Linda….trust me – I take this as a HUGE compliment as I just adore your work. Thanks for popping in!
Such an eye catching card Susan. The color combo is dynamite and the Scribbles add such a fun element.
