Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for July 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects using our favorite Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper as well as coordinating embellishments. What we love about Stampin’ Up! is they make it so easy to mix and match colors. And, the amazing selection of embellishments provides a wonderful finished look to our projects. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
I have a funny for you…I am giving this adorable box to my 86 year old Dad to have a “munch break” while he is sitting at the Atlanta Airport for 2 hours tomorrow. I am blessed, my Dad is going to get a chuckle when he opens up my “care package” to keep him company while he waits for a plane to go see my brother.
Speaking of blessed….Stampin’ Up! has soooooo many amazing DSP’s in this new catalog and today I might be surprising you by picking this DSP. Honestly, I think the reason why I am doing this is….at a first glance at the new DSP’s on the Block ~ This paper, Serene Scereny was not my favorite.
You might be saying, “Why in the heck are you showing this”? Great question and here is the answer…because I wanted to step out of my box and find “love” in something I might have passed up…and I LOVE IT! I was “tunneled visioned” by looking at the “picture” sides of this paper….but I love the flip sides!
This box is the best….and this bundle is simply adorable! You will see the full line up of the products used in the line up at the end of the post! I know that you have a bunch to HOP to so I will try to make my post short!
I adore the fact that we have so many great and practical 3-D Thinlit Dies…and I will say, I think that many of you are skeptical about making 3 – D’s and the truth is….they are NOT scary…they are FUN!
Before we get to the “low down” on the products used for today’s project….I say, grab a cup of coffee and watch this super quick video that will show you how easy it is to put this together!
One thing that I want to share/point out to you….if you were to look up the colors that coordinate with this DSP….you can see from the below line up that I went “out of the box” and it worked!
This is ONE CUTE PROJECT and one CUTE LLAMA and I know that my wonderful Dad will sit at the Atlanta Airport and enjoy the treat inside. I can almost bet you that he will show the person that wheels him to the next gate his goodie…and then I bet he will ask the person that is near him if they want a chocolate.

Cute! Cute! Cute! This is so adorable and so sweet of you to give your dad a surprise. I am sure he will have a smile from ear to ear. Your simple snip for the blanket is so clever!
Hey you…..maybe this guy is a distant cousin to the sheep! He does make you laugh!
Super cute, Susan! Your father will LOVE it!
Love this!! You are so very good at enabling! I too had passed by on this DSP. Will definitely have to rethink. And cheers to your Dad for traveling!!!
I just am not one that like the “photo like pictures” on a DSP (just a personal preference) but the FLIP SIDE….fun!I love the 6 X 6 size!
What a special surprise your dad has in store!!! He is going to smile that’s for sure!!!! I love this project and the fun you brought with it!!!! Thanks Susan!!
I love this Bakers Box die….it is one that you can use all year and have fun making it different each and every time!
I love how you took the Birthday Fiesta stamp set and muted it down for your Munch Box. Did you include some business cards for your Dad to hand out to his fellow passengers? Your adorable creation is few to get a few gawkers!
I know that it was a bit silly on my part to use a llama for my dad but I knew he would love it. I should have given him a stash of business cards – great idea!
That is a super cute box for your dad. I’m sure he will enjoy a treat during his long wait. Safe travels to him. Great take on the challenge today.
Thanks…as I said, this was not my favorite DSP but I think that there are always way that we can re-purpose and think differently about certain products. I was thrilled with the end result!
Fun project. I’m m sure your Dad will smile. Safe travels to him!
This would be a fun “giftie” for when the trio travel! Let me know when you are doing a road trip…..I would love to have a treat for you all!
But, will he keep the box or give it to someone on his journey? That little box is so darn cute! Love the color scheme too. I love making 3D projects and anything to do with chocolate! My dad would have loved to have something like this and probably would give the box to person who wheeled him through the airport esp if they had a kiddo or grandkiddos. I bet it would be a conversation starter for sure!
Hands down…..HE WILL KEEP THE BOX…..he keeps all cards that I make him and he shows his friends….”My daughter made that” but I am sure he will show it off to anyone that will stop and listen to him!
Cute, cute Susan! Love the hanging rope. Great detail.
Thanks Rae, I love to do that…especially with the thick Bakers Twine. I think that the texture is fun!
Adorable, Susan. I can picture your Dad as he is munching and sharing. Showing off the non scenery side of the paper stack is a great idea. It certainly is most versatile!! Thanks for sharing your sweet Llama treat box!
He loves his “sweet tooth” fixes…and I am sure that he plowed through the chocolates! Adding the DSP on the sides is so easy and gives an instant fun!
If I sat next to him I bet I’d say yes to the chocolate and then ask if I could have the box. LOL… love it!
Maggie…you are so sweet and guess what – I would do the same thing. I should have given him business cards!
Absolutely adorable Susan! I’m sure your Dad is going to love it!
Thanks Beth…I adore this die…a keeper for all seasons!
Love it! I’m sure your dad will too!
He is….knowing him, he will not want to open it. I bet he will try to figure out how he can “get into it” without wrecking the bow!
Cute box, Susan! That Llama makes me chuckle, and I’m sure he will too!
He is just a smile maker….every time you see him!
I love your Dan’s treat box. I’m sure it will get noticed at a busy airport. Caleb said you should’ve sent some business cards along with your dad to hand out to anyone who commented on your project. 🙂
I am smiling and I am laughing, I love that son of yours!
love love love… thank you for sharing! Safe journey for your dad 🙂
I do love this die and it is great that you just use 1 sheet of cardstock to make it and the llama – such a mood booster!
Susan, love your Fiesta box! I am sure your Dad loved it, too! How can you not smile when you see this?!!
You are soooooo right, I chuckle every time I see his expression…FUN!
I love the llama in this set. Hey that paper is no slouch and really I haven’t met a paper you couldn’t do something fun with.
That llama cracks me up each and every time!
I adore everything you create!! This llama and box is just to perfect! I am with you about this paper. I was not overwhelmed with it at first. But, after using it a few times. It is becoming my favorite! What a wonderful suprise for your Dad. He is one lucky man!
You made me smile..many thanks for your sweet words! I love what I do and it brings my joy to create for others! My Dad was thrilled!
