Good morning and Happy Thursday!
Every Thursday means it’s a Pals Paper Art Challenge day! Today’s sketch is from the very talented, Linda Callahan, and I tried my best to think out of the box… Did I get you with that subject line? You were probably thinking…what the heck?
Let me explain….I think Linda is one super talented stamper and PAL….and I wanted to honor her sketch by doing something fun and whimsical. I adore this Fox and it is simply amazing all of the things you can do with it – check out Pinterest and I am sure that you will be HITTING the button to purchase it!
Every year it gets harder and harder to buy for “older peeps” for the holidays….even though they adore gift cards…I like to ask them for some ideas and then surprise them! I thought that if I sent them this card now they would do one of two things….
- Think that their Mom has totally lost it.
- Laugh so much that they might really think – this was a good idea and what the heck – it is a cute card!
Were you wondering where this sentiment came from? It is from the Snow Place Stamp Set and I did a simple masking to only highlight the 2 words of “Christmas already?”- I know that it will make them laugh! This stamp set was carried over from last year and I am happy as it was super popular last year!

I know that you all are getting super excited to see the new Holiday Catalog and guess what – YOU SHOULD BE as it is super fun….something for everyone. I do admit, this DSP, This Christmas, that is in the Annual Catalog is still one of my holiday favorites as to me….it is traditional with its color…its designs…just a “Classic Christmas”
I know that I have not blog a ton on the new layering framelits that were unveiled in the catalog and WHY??? The best answer I can give you is that there are sooooo many great stamps that I wanted to share with you BUT….these new framelits are fabulous as there are so many options, with the circles alone you get 16 different sizes in both the circle shape but also the scallops – I say WOOT-WOOT!
In the below photo you can see that instead of cutting out a circle and layering it on top….I cut a circle out of the “green print” and then nestled and adhered it (the red print) into the cut out one. This is a fun thing to do and try it with many circles in a variety of papers….you will smile – trust me!
Here is your fun picture for you to add to your files or pin it! By doing this, you will be able to see at a glance the “ins and outs” but if you need further help….please email me!
I am sure that I will receive (3) phone calls from the peeps laughing….Every year I vow to get a grip on my Holiday chopping EARLY.…so I can enjoy the Holiday Season (well…we all like that “special shopping” experience when everything is decorated) and yep, I will do that as that’s what we do as Moms….BUT I do like to get a bunch finalized as I ADORE cooking, baking and simply making handmade gifts!
I do hope that you pop over to the Pals Paper Art Site and see all of the beauties that the design team came up with – WOWZA…there are so many FUN cards and I invite you to play along with this sketch….super fun!
How do you like my BIG Paw Print “Shop Button”….I think that it is adorable – this will take you to my on line store and also you will see the specific products that I used for today’s card…under it!

Clever girl! Your masking of the sentiment was genius….so many possibilities with other sentiments….great tip! The card is super cute and you will make your peeps day for sure. Love the new paw button too! Hugs!
We are laughing super hard right now. We LOVE that you’re actually going to send is card to your peeps now!!! They will get a kick out of it. I must admit that I am always amazed that Christmas comes around so soon each year. I think he older I get, the faster the year flies. Anyway, your card is awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
Cool, clever, fun — what could be better on a hot, sticky August day!
Your card is adorable!! I have been on the fence about that punch but will probably take the plunge soon. There are so many animals you can make with it!
I think your “peeps” will get a kick out of this early Christmas card 🙂
Clever card, and so cute too. You will definitely make your peeps smile. I like how you layered…..that is clever too!!! ??
Thanks for such kind words! And yep you know me……I love whimsy so I think this card is fabulous! Absolutely adorable for the holidays!
well . . . I kept the owl punch in my stash for a long time before I used it and when I did . . . I loved it. Now I’m so tempted to get this little guy too. I also love the Christmas DSP. Thinking about all the cards I could make with it, in a jiffy. Your Paw Print button is so, so cute. Love it!
🙂
Fantastic mix of patterns, especially the cropped out circle with the red pattern peeking behind!
Love your take on the sketch with the DSPs and the cute fox. Your title today was fun. I’m pulling out my Christmas stash as we speak to see what I have and what I need. That DSP may be on my “need” list! Thanks for showcasing it. Perfect timing for me. Have a great day.
Love the idea! I was going to send Christmas in July cards just for fun but a few things got in the way of that concept. Everyone needs to visit Brian King’s post today for his cute holiday critter but also visit the woman’s site (he refers to) to see a whole bunch of new critters including Pokeman critters using this punch. Amazing! I love the colors and patterns you used. Just plain fun that brought a big smile. Now, I wish Teddy would smile – at least he quit throwing up which I swear was anxiety related due to his BFF and her family moving out this weekend from next door. Not only did he cry, he was howling, and wailing away. Honestly, two dogs setting up a Skype session?
This is adorable! I love your sophisticated style. Genius little technique trick with the layering circles!
I like the basic design of your card. The basic design was main structural background of my card entry (not colors). The DSPs really make the Foxy Friend stand out! Awesome!
Clean and awesome…as usual! I love these designer patterns and colors…they make for a very striking card!
