WOW ~ I have you all messed up and I admit, I am messed up with our schedule as well. Well…yesterday did not work out as I planned and I need to be out of town all day….but even thought it was not in the “PLANS” for the day…..it worked out and all is good!
I admit, I purchased this set because of the simple peacefulness it has….wow – sitting on a porch sounds right up my alley. We all seem to go and go and go and go……sitting, taking it all in sounds great! Personally, Johns parents had a swing on their porch and it was a special time to sit, rock and talk! Sounds great….right?
Today I am sharing with you a super simple version and then tomorrow I am going to give you the STEPPED UP VERSION with the dimensions and then you can get a glimpse of both, and then you decide – which works for you? Doesn’t this have wonderful sentiments? I think that they would be great to use with other stamps as well.
I can see a “sun” with the “you always make me smile”….or a beach themed stamp with the “just sitting here thinking of you” – this is where I encourage you to look at what you have and make it work! 🙂
The Designer Series Paper is the super beautiful Blooms & Bliss….so beautiful, so unique! I know that this has been a favorite of many and you can see why, the details yet softness makes this a keeper!
I did use an Aqua Painter to do a super quick swipe – swipe of the colors of Sahara Sand and Rich Razzleberry….this was super fast and super effective to give depth. If you were to use the markers, I think that it would have been too stark…this is a super softness and it helps bring out the inner Picasso in you (I know that you have it as I believe in YOU!)
Here is your quick “low down ~ 411” of the card! Please give me the chance tomorrow to let you see how changing it up a bit makes a difference. Some lie the stepped up…some do not – and guess what – that is TOTALLY FINE…..variety is the spice of life….right?
We are under the 10 day hour glass has turned for the limited edition Thoughtful Branches – I think we all have seen many, many great cards made with this! I know that I am happy that I have it and I will derived lots of great projects now and in the future!

There is nothing like sitting on the porch swing and just taking in the sounds. Last night I got that same peaceful feeling by the fire listening to the peepers and sharing time with Tim and Laura. So nice!!!
I was drawn to Sitting Here the way you were, Susan, but haven’t used it yet!!! Excited to see your second card using this sweet set tomorrow. Have a wonderful day everyone!!
This card is so peaceful and serene and the colors work so well together. Love to sit out on the porch taking in nature’s beauty and getting my “zen” on! Enjoy a laid back kind of day, Susan.
Great card with the perfect sentiment. I’m looking forward to see how you step it up tomorrow. Have a great day.
Great card with fun colors. Love the memories it evokes. Will look forward to tomorrow’s version.
We grew up loving a porch swing and we have one on our deck now, so I had to have this stamp set right off — but haven’t used it yet!! you’ve inspired me to used it though and can’t wait to see the stepped up version too!
Yes, just relaxing on a swing! Sounds so restful. This card looks very nostalgic. I wish I would try more often to relax. I know for me this PC eats up my free time. Tomorrow is a new week . . . maybe I’ll turn it off early!!! 🙂
After eons of years of marriage Mike treated me finally to both glider chairs and one that seats two! I have been spending way too much time sitting on the porch steps with Ted watching the world go by. We had a swing on our porch at the house I grew up in until we moved in 5th grade. Well, even in the winter time I had my dad shovel a path to the swing if I couldn’t walk to it and would swing in the snow! I know, weird kid but it was still fun though. I loved watching the storms blow over and head over the river to Illinois.
When we moved here there was a porch swing but you could see it was bringing the porch roof down so you didn’t trust to sit in it. So, Mike removed it before that happened. Relaxing has become my new hobby and one can find us out there almost daily with a book or the SU catalog and my Diet Coke or ice tea, The students moved in yesterday at the college so now we have lots of action for Ted to watch and a few people stopping to pet him. Maybe I should sweep it off and add some pillows or something inviting now so Ted can hold court. Lets see what blinged up version of the card can be applied to my real life? I have the dog already. So, I am looking forward to seeing the card.
Oh, last night the students walked by to go have a picnic supper at the gardens at the historical village. I had the windows open and was using the computer. I heard one of the leaders tell her group, “That this is where Ted, the dog lives, that you met earlier this afternoon when he came to greet everyone on campus.” I thought that was funny and of course he heard her and wanted to go out and meet and greet. Since they were probably on a time schedule I thought I had better keep him inside.
If anyone cares to join Ted and I on our front porch, just let me know so I know to have a favorite beverage and snacks ready! We have lots of birds, squirrels and rabbits go by as well as people. Plus, we have a brick street so you get to hear that fun sound. Occasionally some people on horseback go by as well as bikes etc. What can I say – small town USA.
P.S. the paper you used Susan is one of my favorite packs. I can’t wait to sit out there and check out the holiday catalog!
