Happy Thursday! It is a Pals Paper Art day and this week we are working with a fun sketch from fellow Pal Dawn Tidd. This is a super easy sketch yet fun sketch to work with so I encourage you to give it a try! I know….I know…. many of you are reluctant to post your work and “I get it” but how about trying it at home? I find that when I work from a challenge…it helps develop a style!
You all really do not need me today as this is super straight forward! I adore all of the papers in this paper stack…a true keeper and I just love the plaids that are in there! (I am a polka dot and plaid kinda girl) so this stack found its way to Randall Lane real quick!
Here is a great tip – when you have super yummy papers like this….USE THEM as your focal…it is a HUGE time saver and the end result will be a smile for not only YOU but for the lucky recipient! Remember that TIME THING we all have….just do it!
We all know that it is a mystery as what is carried over to the next catalog etc….but I truly hope that this Kraft Rope Trim is. I have used it for cards, for packaging, for tags – it is great as it is super easy to use.
Below you will see that I just did a simple knot on the ends and then took my piercing tool to pull the fibers of the treads to make it fun and festive!
Let’s have a chat about the sentiment! This came from the carried over stamp set called Snow Place! This set came out last year and YES, it does have matching framelits (a time saver) but today I just wanted the sentiment (I love the clean and classic font).
I did heat emboss it and the 2 best things that you can do when heat embossing is….to heat up your heat tool for about 30 seconds to get it good nad hot and then also to use a Embossing Buddy to remove any static etc…before you stamp with the versamark!
WASHI TAPE FUN!!! 🙂 I love when I use it and then hear back from you all….that was a great idea!!!! Yep, again…you have it – so USE IT! Adding a piece to the bottom of the envelope is a perfect and super quick touch!
Here is your Directory Assistance photo for you! Quick, easy, fun & DONE! (Just the way I like it) – now I encourage you to POP over to the Pals Paper Art site and see all of the beauties that are there! There you go…a very simple 1,2,3 card! Have a fabulous day….and until tomorrow!!!
Hi Susan! Great card. Definitely easy to make . Love the rope! The washi tape looks so good too, love it. I got to play yesterday. I worked on two PP kits. My stash is looking a little bit better now. 🙂
Fun card for the holidays. Love the washi tape. I use it on my envelopes too!
This is a really fun and quick card, Susan. Thanks for a great idea for using our DSP stacks and washi tape. Have a great day!
Cute, cute, cute!!
Love the card! Love the envie! Another wonderful example of your simple, elegant style. It doesn’t have to be complicated to be absolutely beautiful. You really nail that concept so well and I so appreciate your sharing with the rest of us.
Great, simple and easy! Love it! The rope gives it that wow factor and I love the washi tape idea. Stay dry and enjoy your day, Susan!
So now I am still supposed to try and develop a style? Talk about pushing the envelope! Speaking of envelopes, who knew that the Washi tape matched the paper? Well, I certainly didn’t so now I want it! Made for such a fun look. Oh that ropey stuff looks like it would be fun to use too. Looks like this all stacks up to be one fun card. I don’t heat emboss enough, I guess I need to work on that too. Oh, wouldn’t it have been fun for SU to have had a white for that glittery embossing powder besides the red and green? I will have to check out what the others have made now.
You do have a way with that heavy twine! Love how it looks against the DSP!
The rope trim looks fabulous on this card, Susan!
