Good morning….maybe many of you have seen this video but “just in case” – here you go. I am a subscriber to Paper Pumpkin and each and every month I still have that same HIGH level of excitement each and every month when that box is in my mailbox.
I invite you to watch this quick video (it is just over 2 minutes) and then think of what I will do with it….do you think that I will do it as Stampin’ Up! has showcased it….or will I “shake” it up a bit?
Yesterday I stumbled on a fantastic Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator that does an AMAZING job with her videos on how to take the Paper Pumpkin Kit and use alternative ideas….I invite you to check out Rachel Tessman’s videos ~ she shares and inspires you to take the Paper Pumpkin Kits and make them your own.
You might be thinking….why would I share with you someones videos….EASY – this is how we learn, this is how we grow. It is clearly obvious that Rachel has a passion, desire and talent to think “Out of the Box” – kudos to her!
I am also the first to admit….there are some months that I am not a huge fan of the offerings….but then again, I can only imagine how incredibly hard it is to create these kits. When I get a kit that is “not my likings” – I just have FUN and make it work in some shape or form.
I will say, after I saw Rachel’s video on Septembers Kit….I clicked that button and just purchased more refills! (Yikes…..I bought a bunch when they first were available …..but after seeing her take – LOVE IT!) I can see some FUN Christmas ideas!
Have a great day…..if you live on the East Coast….it is an Autumn summer again, our horses have been “growing hair” with the cooler weather over the past 2 week and now they are sooooooo confused! It’s bad enough if we have troubles with our hair…..but a horse – CRAZY!
See you tomorrow!

I agree this is a fun pumpkin. I made some, shared some, and already have the ones I made ready to mail. Making a shaker card is fun. The directions were very easy to follow too.
Susan, I have to thank you for the big smiles you give me each morning with the doggie pictures!
I love the PP this month! I could not wait and had to put one card together before the gals get together next week. I love Rachel Tessmas’s ideas! She is amazing! I would say you are definitely going to be out of the box with your kit! By the way, I will say that the cards, when made up, don’t really fit in the beautiful envelopes provided. I think I am going to trim my next card down a bit before assembly. And, I will use the envelope punch board to make more envelopes!!!
If you need a pit stop on the way to or from the shore just holler. I will be thinking of you and your family.
Love Paper Pumpkin ! Rachel does have good incentives plus heads up the PP Facebook . I do not always do the projects that it has for the month BUT….there is always that single Stampin Up ink pad plus a great stamp set .
Thanks Ramsey for the heads up on those adorable envelopes . I love the sweater knit look inside ,but I will see if I can do some alterations to fit the card inside !
Happy Thursday ,Susan !
Susan, yes you will be thinking outside the box on this one. You might make one or a couple as instructed esp. to see about the envelope problem Ramsey talks about. Rachel Tessman has lots of great alternative ideas including scrapbooking pages done with the kits. Her videos are good and if she makes a mistake she owns up to it and moves on and tells you don’t do what she did! She has her own Pinterest board and I love to see what she has pinned – she does the work for me! There is also the Facebook PP site. Sorry Susan, I thought I had told you about her videos a long time ago. I have learned a lot from her just like I have from you Susan! If you have a question about something she has done, she is always gracious to answer or explain something in a different way. We can think of her as the substitute teacher! Oh shudder, that reminded me of the time my great aunt was a substitute teacher for one of my classes and I just could not deal with it and went to the office and told the principal I could not be in the same room with her!
I still like the idea of trading some of the pieces if not the whole kit with others when I know someone else can use the parts or would like to try the kit.
We are having a chilly day here and the wind is shaking the pretty leaves off the trees. Just 2 days ago it was 80+ degrees. Susan, you and John have a safe trip for the funeral.
Oh my! This paper pumpkin looks like a real winner. I keep coming up with reasons to not make a shaker card. I could do a kit with them. Is this kit still available for a single purchase?
Hi Susan, I too love this month’s PP kit. Hope to get into it this weekend. Be safe in your travels. 🙂
