Good Morning! It is Thursday which means that it is time for another challenge and look to see who is the guest designer….ME! I hope that you like the sketch that I submitted and that you will PLAY! Please pop over to the PPA Website to see the FUN cards that the other designers came up with – FUN to the max!
This was a fun and super fast card to make! It has many different elements that create instant texture (the Polka Dot Embossing Folder) and then cutting the Candy Cane Lane DSP to get the stripes – both super easy but create a fun and whimsical look!
You know that I adore water-coloring and this was not the best example to go wild (which will probably make many of you happy) as it was just the aqua painter had a date with crumb cake and then a touch of blushing bride to add a “wee bit” of blush to my friends cheeks!
This is the stamp set that our friend came from…and YEP – it is a bundle and if I were you , I would purchase it as a bundle. I bet that you think I alwys buy the bundles. Usually I do but there are time that I don’t….it just all depends if you think that you will use both items!
Remember that using shapes like circles, squares, rectangles etc….for a focal part is a great “safe base” for clean and simple cards! By using a focal point like these shapes, it sets the stage for the card….and then work outward to get the look you are going for!
To me, polka dots are TOTAL FUN….I actually have (2) of these folders as one is sooooo worn and I was afraid if it was ever discontinued, I would be sad! I use this one a bunch as it is just plain FUN!
I knew that I wanted to get a sentiment in….so I sneaked it in as a banner, worked out great! The font and sentiments in this set are great. I think that this brings out the inner child in us….such an adorable reindeer!
There you go my friends! One super fast and fun card. Even if you do not feel comfortable in submitting a card for the challenge, why not try this sketch at home…for the most important person….YOU!!!!!
Remember, we all have inner gifts….so let them SHINE! Thanks for popping in and make it a great day!
p.s. – I found out yesterday that I needed to make MORE Halloween Bags….the event is today – wish me luck!
Adorable card. I still haven’t done any watercoloring on my cards and here is the big surprise….I am taking a watercoloring class right now!!! Haha…..it really is fun and yes, I was so intimidated to start. Good luck today, Susan….I am sure your Halloween bags are going to be a hit!!!
Cute cute cute !! I never noticed that sentiment on that stamp set while looking through the items to put on my Wish List to order . Also I completely forgot about my Polka Dot folder …..thanks for reminding me !!
Don`t you just love that Moose ?
Have a wonderful time today !
Cute card! That moose just screams “love me!” I love that polka dot folder, too….gives the card an instant happy. Have fun today….I am sure your treats will go over big time.
Great sketch, Susan! Your card is adorable. I would wish you luck today but you really don’t need it. Enjoy your day!!
Love this simple sketch Susan! I will have to try to come up with something! That would be a first time at trying a sketch! Your card is adorable!!!!!
Congrats on being the guest designer. I loved your design. It is a good basic design and can be used in lots of ways! Yeah for Susan!!!
What a great design you made for the challenge. Your card brings a smile to my face. I love what you did with the DSP. Good luck with your Halloween bags. Have a great time at the church.
Love your design. The moose is too darn cute! I sometimes forget how much texture my polka-dot folder adds. Will definitely CASE this layout. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Susan, have a great time today. I am sure you will enjoy giving out your bags. I hope you didn’t have to make too, too many more. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw you were the guest designer on the PPA today, before I opened this email. I like your sketch and your card is terrific. I’m glad the stripes were DSP as I though you cut those mico-stripes yourself which would be fine, but the gluing would be another matter.
🙂
Such a cute card Susan. Love the dotted background, the fun stripes, and of course the sweet reindeer. Good luck today…will keep you in my thoughts!
Dear Susan, I love your card. Congratulations on being chosen to be the design person today. You did a great job. I love the whole card. Have fun today. I know you will have fun. Hugs,Ellen Hinds
Oh Susan, you did it again, I had a big smile when I opened your post! I opened yours first so that was even better. I just love this character – I thought he was a reindeer instead of a moose. I had never even noticed the sentiment before and had to look in the catalog not that I doubted you! I even noticed his little blushing cheeks before I read the post! Then I see you are the guest designer too! This is a great card and one I will CASE once I get my bundle of goodies. Plus, I might have to try the challenge just for myself since I mailed you my swap card yesterday. This would have been a good one to use.
By now, I bet you have all the extra treat bags made and filled. You are going to have a lot of happy faces when you give the treat bags out!
Absolutely darling Christmas card, Susan. May just have to case this one myself! Thanks for sharing.
Such a fun and colorful card Susan! Definitely perfect as the guest designer. Thanks for the fun sketch this week.
This little guy is adorable! Such a fun card…..and a great sketch!
