Ho-Ho-Ho….SANTA SUSAN here!
Again, another late post because you can’t even make this up! I am sitting at a McDonald’s to get an internet connect because out phone lines and our internet are DOWN and they earliest they can get here is TUESDAY……needless to say – John and I are not happy customers!
It is brutally cold and I needed to take care of the animals before I could get into town….but hang in there because we have more TIPS and more WINNING for a lucky person!
Good news is that I am able to use WORD to do my typing and then I just need to go somewhere that there is internet…..soooooooo if you email me and I do not get right back to you….it is because – I am a sad Susan with no connection!
Well here you go with another FUN post that has a tip for you that I think is SUPER IMPORTANT. You will hear why I am so passionate about this tip after we have a …..WINNER….WINNER ~ Chicken DINNER!!!!
WOOT-WOOT…..it is time for Roberta to be doing the happy dance! It makes me soooo happy when someone wins that is excited to get it….I think I have your address – but please email me it just to be sure!
I have a confession, the majority of the time I am upstairs in my work area and sometimes a dog will sneak up and keep me company but there are time that I just break into a “HAPPY DANCE” and say/sing woot-woot….dance in a circle and then I am DONE!
Then I will look at the dog, usually it is Milo or Rosie and the are looking at me like, “Have you lost your mind…WHAT was that you did and then GO TAKE voice lessons”
Sometime I do get exited just like you do so the moral of the story is…we are NEVER TOO OLD to break into a personal HAPPY DANCE and have fun!
Before we get to the TIP today, I loved your comments. I must say – I totally laugh when I hear that some of you use a straightening iron for bakers twine and ribbon…..(well – I admit, I have ironed wider ribbon) but I think if John walked upstairs and saw me using a curling iron he would BURST out laughing at me but then again, a girl has to do what a girl needs to do!
Now to the tip….and hang tight as this is an important one because I know how much time and love we put into making our cards…..
Yep, same drill as I am having sooooooo much FUN being SANTA this week….leave a comment and let me know if you use these products or if you have any tips about the topic and I will send the random lucky winner the pens!
O.k. – here is is….it is simple. You need to purchase the Project Life Pens. It is as simple as that. WHY you ask???? They are great pens that do not smear and they are easy to write with. I do not do Project Life personally and I think that many of you hear the word “Project Life” and say – I don’t do that….but seriously, these are GREAT Pens!
The come in a pack of (2) in different widths and they are fabulous. (Just do not let your kids or husband get to them or you will not get them back). They are easy to write with and I simply cannot tell you haw many time I will get a card and see that the writing was imprinted slightly on the top of the card because of the pen that was used.
Now there is NO NEED TO PANIC….as trust me, it is not a terrible mess but I am “just saying” many times when you use a Ball Point pen…..they leave a residue when the card is folded together.
The other pen that is also perfect for writing with is our Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. You can buy that individually and the fine tip on this works like a charm as well when writing your cards.
Does this make sense to you? I know that it is hard to put into words but trust me on this one…it does make a difference to have a great pen that will write smoothly and that will not smear,
Back in my Creative Memories Days….we ALWAYS used fabulous pens for the longevity of our journaling because after all, they are scrapbooks meant for life. I can remember having customers not believe me that it is important to use a proper pen and then they would see the same thing….after they closed their book several times, the pen would leave a residue on the prior page!
There you go ….another TIP from me and leave me a comment about pens…maybe you use these…maybe you have something else that you love…..please share!
One lucky winner will win 2 pens, the set of Project Life Pens and the Single Black Marker.
I hope that you are enjoying these fun posts as much as I have in posting them, to me it is a great break to sit down and get your mind off of the busy times and have some “me time” together!
Until tomorrow….Ho-ho-ho….SANTA SUSAN has something in the bag again!

Pens, I love pens! Thanks for the tip about the Project Life pens!
Pens… Good ones are a blessing. I love my Creative Memories black pens from way back a few years ago when I was a demonstrator. Haven’t yet tried Project Life pens, maybe it’s time.
Awwww Susan , I am sorry you are having internet problems ! You don`t suppose it`s Russia snooping in on your TIPS …!!
I also am a Project Life Pen LOVER !!! I have them all over the house and have given them as gifts . They are inexpensive compared to the quality . I have a pair on the way now for a gift . They write so smoothly and I use them as my regular pens . Have not tried writing with my black SU marker ,but that is a project for later this afternoon .
Happy Friday !
I love these simple tips- always love to learn something new about the basics. Reading this caused a “forehead slap- duh!” moment for me as I just finished the Christmas cards with an awful pen and wish I had thought of using some of my Stampin Up pens. Thanks for all your posts!
Sue
I have Project Life pens and the Stampin Write marker too and use them all the time you….especially on my Christmas cards.
Good problem solving, Susan, but what a blasted inconvenience!
Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the info about these Pens! I have not tried them! If I win I would do a happy dance! lol
This reminds me of a tv commercial about the family going insane due to no internet coverage-I am not implying you are going crazy but it does remind of us of how dependent we are on the internet. I sure am…thanks for the tips on the pens At our office we just sent about 600 cards (no I did not make those) but the signatures were smeared. So, thank you this is a great tip because those gel pens do smear on certain papers. Very cold out on the west coast too…well, cold for us is 40 degrees lol
I have used the stampin’ write and love it! I do not have the Project Life pens, but may have to put them on my next order. Some times I use the fine point permanent Sharpie. It work great also. I would go crazy with out my internet. I feel for you.
I have never used these pens, but I do know what you mean about the ink residue getting on the top part of the card. Not very pretty. Thank you so much for the tip…I will be certain to use these or something like these when I write cards for now on!
Woot Woot for me! Wow! I Am So Excited about the win from yesterday’s tip, Susan! Can you feel the enthusiasm in my writing? I can’t wait to receive the twine and the bees wax, double blessings! Yay!
I have not tried the project life pens, but would like to!! I try to find the best pen in the house (usually in my husband’s office) and hopefully it doesn’t smear….thanks!
They are great pens & I think a steal price wise.
You taught me well and I listened….I love the Project Life pens and use them all the time!! They are also smooth to write with! (Hmmm….I could use a refill. LOL) I too have received cards where the ink has bled…not pretty! Now about those internet problems….come visit me! I have internet and it’s warm!!! 🙂
Oh no! I bet this crazy wind blew away your phone and internet lines! I do love the regular Stampin’ Up! markers and often use a coordinating color. I often reach for a blue pen over a black one, it just seems softer. I have not tried the Project Life pens. Yup, I am one who just glances over the Project Life pages. Definitely going on the next order!
First of all, my sympathies about the internet. We still have to live with a slow hot spot because of our lack of cable or fast internet, but it is coming….we also live in the country. I was unaware of the wonderfulness of the the Project Life markers. Now, I am going to have to get some! I do happy dances all the time and I sing to my dog. He likes it. God bless dogs! Good luck and keep the happy dances going!
I am willing to try project life pens, I would have never though of using them. Hope you get your internet up and running soon. Do appreciate all that ypu go through to get us the information to us.
Wow, Tuesday s a longgg wait 🙁 I have the Project Life pens and love them. My annoyance with reg pens is when they get bobs of ink everywhere or not all the ink is flowing and first couple letters of the word don’t show up and then you try to fix them and it looks worse!
The statement “you can’t even make this up” made me chuckle. I thought I was the only on who has those kinds of experiences. Being in a rural area of the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia Canada, I can relate. The internet is usually reliable until you have a deadline to meet. But more important is the great tips you have. I don’t have the project life markers, but I do have the stampin writers. Love them. I have scrapbook markers which are acid free and smudge proof..but I’m going to get project life pen. I am sold on them. But as for today, it’s -17 degrees C. Blowing snow, and I’m going to have a nap. WhooHoot…
HI! I just ordered another black marker to have a spare! I also like hand-lettering pens that write nicely. My tip for the day is always sign important documents in blue ink so everyone can tell which is the original, copiers being what they are today! Good luck w/internet service. My printer is on the fritz.
Hi Susan! Sorry to hear about your internet! I don’t own a decent pen, in fact I put a pen on my list for Santa. Maybe I will win and Christmas will come early!
Quite frankly, I have never tried the Project Life Pens. But I do appreciate a good pen, so will include them in my next order. I’ve been using a ball point pen, but don’t really care for it. I have arthritis in my hand, so ease of writing is important to me. Thanks for the tip!!
My paper crafting journey started with CM, so I appreciate a good pen. Thank you for the reminder and for the giveaway!
I’ve used a good quality, wide variety gel pens {and many with sparkle…I love bling!}, but I find the Sharpie fine-point does great for writing, too. I think I have half a dozen around my house, and several in my pen cup. BUT, I would LOVE to win these pins…woot! Woot! I did the happy dance, too, and Zoey just looked up at me in the same manner…yeppers, lost her marbles again! 🙂
I love a smooth writing pen. Have been using some gel pens from “Write Dude”that I really like. Found them on Amazon. They dry quickly so smearing is usually not a problem. Will have to check out your tip for the project life pens on my next order. Sorry you lost your internet, but that sometimes that leads to great crafting time, or tea and a good book time.
I have not tried the Project Life pens but am always willing to try new writing instruments! I hate when a pen smears on a card after spending so much time creating it.
I have never tried the project life pens before. I too hate when an ink pen gets goopy and smears after you spent all that time creating a one of a kind card. Always on the lookout for a smooth writing pen. Thanks for sharing this tip. Good luck with your internet. Computers can’t live with them, can’t live without them.
Speaking about not being able to make this up – I have tried one of those SU Project Life pens at the CTMH demo’s house! Someone left theirs at the scrapbooking group and nobody owned up to losing it so she uses it most of the time. Theirs are really good too she said. I liked using it and tried to convince her it was mine but it didn’t work since she knows I don’t scrapbook and would not have been at that class!
Oh, congrats to Roberta! I have won 2 cards from Dawn Griffith and then the Tin of Tags kit and the stamp set. But, I ended up with 3 of the Tin of Tags stamp set. Hopefully SU will exchange it for me and maybe the other one I can sell to one of the people in our card club. But, I am not quite doing the happy dance as I have tendinitis in one foot/ankle area and the other one has a different problem. I go to the ortho doctor on Monday. Meanwhile Ted keeps telling me Fed Ex is here or UPS so I hobble downstairs and then find out they went next door. I had already taken him for a long walk and almost didn’t make it back and it was so cold.
Well, back to finishing my cards up and using my yucky pen to sign them! Hope the phone and internet gets fixed sooner for you. I think you need to go to Jeanie’s!
Would love to win these pens! Thansk
Susan, I have to say, you have the best attitude and are so upbeat irregardless of what life throws your way! It is really inspiring and fun. Thank you for sharing!
I was just thinking the other day when I was signing my Christmas cards that I need to organize my pens better. I have all sorts of different ones that I use for different projects and I am constantly pawing through them for what I need whether it is color, tip size, or ink choice. Anyway, I have not tried the Project life pens and wondered what they were like. I am glad to hear your experience and know they are wonderful. I will put them on my list. Thanks!
You are so right about using a proper pen. I use the SU markers to sign my cards. Alas, my black needs to be replaced. Maybe I’ll be the winner. ?
Thanks for the tips Susan. I just passed over the “Project Life” pens since I am not doing ‘Project Life”. Even if I don’t win the pens I will put them on my next order
I have used the Stampin Write markers many times to fill in light areas after stamping. Do not have the Project Like pens yet, but you are making me rethink my next order list? Hope your internet is restored soon! Some days it’s just too cold to go out!!!
I do scrapbook, but not the project life way. I’d love to try the pens, Susan, to experience how great you say they are. I’ve experienced the smearing when scrapping a page or two. I’ve learned not to insert my completed pages into their sleeve protectors until the ink dries. I have used the journaling pen and really like mine. It is on its way out. So, I hope I’m a lucky winner today!
Thanks for your great tips! It’s always fun to see how others used their products!
Thanks for the tips! I could use some GOOD markers/pens. I’ve purchased markers from other companies and been unsatified. I only have a few SU markers. Should give more of them a try!
I use the Sharpie fine point and they work well but love to try new things so hope I win! Hope your internet gets up and running. Boy, we so depend on this new technology!
I have had the same problem with pens leaving a residue. I will have to try these pens out. Hopefully I will win. I hope your internet gets up and running. So frustrating when that happens. I have become so dependent on it.
I haven’t tried theProject Life pens but would love to! Thanks for the tip! Hope your back up soon! Our furnace went out this week, but thankfully my hubby was able to get it fixed & we were only without heat for a day & a half–good thing with this cold IL weather! Merry Christmas!
I use Sharpie pens for all of my writing and like them!
Hi Susan, I can’t believe your internet is out and will be until Tuesday. Talk about withdrawal.
I have used the Project Life pens, because I’m a total pen addict, and always have been. Staples is my favorite store. I do not like black though, so I use these only for making cards, needing some black outline, etc. I did not know there was a black Stamp & Write Marker. My favorite pen is a Uni-ball, gel pen, thick, 1.0 mm. I buy refills and put them in every pen I use.
So, stay warm and cozy!
🙂
Thank you for the great tips and the give always!
Hi, I am loving your tips! I don’t have the project life pens but would love to win them. thanks for a chance to get them! so sorry for your internet problems!
I have never used these pens but…you have definitely peaked my interest! Thank you for this chance to win! Barb E
No, I don’t use the Project Life pens – use regular ole Bic pens that smear. Nice to have a chance to win these, though.
I have never tried the project life pens, but after reading your tip I will put some on my next order. I love having a good pen to write with. Good luck with your internet problems!
Oh they sound like excellent pens!! I’m a penaholic so will need to try them!!
Our black marker? Need to try that. I do like the PL pens!
I love Project Life Pens. I just wish we could buy the thinner one separately: it is perfect for fancy lettering because it’s so fine. I use both of the pens for every day addressing of envelopes–they make even basic block lettering look special!
I never thought about using our marker or if the pen I use smears. Will definitely try the pl pen and our marker from now on! Thanks for the tip Susan.
Didn’t know about these pens from Stampin’ Up. I’m looking for the perfect pen. Thank you for offering them.
I haven’t used these pens, but I am always interested in finding smooth writing pens. Our dental office gives out some smooth writing ballpoint pens. Would love to try SU pens. Thanks for the suggestion and give away. I hope all is well with your internet by now and you can get a computer “fix” before dinner. LOL
I think you have recommended these before because I bought them and you are so right. They are a joy to write with. Thank you Susan for all your wonderful tips!!
