Hello to my FAVORITE Cyber friends….here is to another year that has just Z O O M E D by….I know that this still is a super busy time of the year and it will all slow down before we know it so until then…let’s continue to have some good old fashion Simple Stampin’ fun.
I just love to hear from you and I must say….we sure do have a great family here, many thanks for popping in!! To win the BLOG CANDY that I will be giving away all you have to do is leave a comment…how easy is that? Just leave a comment about what you are doing to ring in the New Year and one lucky person will win! 🙂 What will they win??? You’ll find out after a story!
I have a funny for you….when we had company over during the Holidays….one of my friends said ~ ” I sure do hope that Santa brings a teeth cleaning for Jack and Charlie because their breathe would knock you over” ….my response – What do you expect when they eat Horse Poop just about daily?
I love my Jack Russells….sometimes I call them “Rotten Russells” as that is what they are – spoiled rotten but they make my heart pitter patter. Well….yesterday I took them to the vets for a consultation before they could go get their teeth clean. It was a 3 ring circus.
Our dogs LOVE the truck and when they are invited to go in the truck they get super excited. They know that they are either going to the dump (fun job) or they are going to a Horse Show (they really love that) but when it is in my car….they know…..THE VETS!!! To start with I could not catch them…they knew. Finally after getting them in my car I went back into the house to get my wallet and when I came back out they locked the doors.
I just stood there and laughed as all I could think of was…WHY ME???? John was meeting me at the Vets because we were going to switch cars and my cell phone was locked in the car…I could hear the music of my ring tone and could see that it was John calling….so back into the house I went to search for a spare key. We have (2) Volkswagens and wouldn’t you know….I could not find mine.
I called Hannah and she picked up whispering….What’s up Mom….I’m at work – is this an emergency? YEP…to me it was. She talked me through where to look and I found the spare that she thought was for her Volkswagen. Whew…..that was settled.
Onward we go and they were miserable…..crying….panting to beat the band and YES – their breathe was terrible! As I got off the highway I had a car stop abruptly and I had to slam on the brakes…….both dogs went air-born to the front with me (and I had some choice words for the guy in front of me) and we continued onward.
We made it into the vets and they were terrible. Living on a farm my guys are not used to being on leashes and their manners are not the best – I think that they feel like they are in a BIG CITY being away from their comfort zone. We made it and YEP, their teeth need a little TLC…next Thursday they will get done.
It cracks me up that you have to take them into the vets to pay for a consultation and then make another appointment to get the job done…we made it but I still cannot believe that they locked me out…..too darn funny.
Below you will see how silly they are….you just can’t make this stuff up!
I hope that you can enjoy this video of all 4 of them playing in our family room – it truly is a circus and when they play – THEY PLAY! The night that we had 17 over for dinner….we had 6 dogs…..(James and his girlfriends dogs also came) but it all worked out – My home is my home…and that means that there are always animals and there are always surprises!
Jack is the Black and White one…and Charlie is the fluffy Brown and White one that rolls over at the end! We picked up these “mis-fit'” brothers at a Horse Show in Ocala one year….all of our dogs are rescues and I think that rescues are the best and are very appreciative of a home. Here is a picture of them 11 years ago with Hannah…..time sure does fly!
I am sorry that I am going down Memory Lane so much….but darn, I LOVE THAT LANE as it is FUN to relive the memories…we were here for 6 weeks (yes, Hannah did go to school) and for 6 weeks these puppies were there and I never saw them until the last day. They were the last 2 out of 10 and no one wanted them….
Naturally I melted….I scooped them up and asked the lady that was trying to find homes for them if I could show them to my daughter to pick one…well I ask you – how do you show a great kid 2 adorable puppies and pick – I can still remember her face…..CAN WE KEEP BOTH?
The rest is history! Jack is THE SWEETEST and could be a Nursing Home Dog….but Charlie – hmmmmmm….his elevator does not go to the top all of the time….but I love my boys!
Well again, sorry for the MEMORY LANE….but this time of the year just “gets to me” as it is a time of the year that I spend lots of time reflecting and also being grateful. I hope that you can let the good, the bad, the fun, the sad…..the WHATEVER into your heart because the reality of it is…WE ALL HAVE STUFF going on!
What are we doing to ring in the New Year.???….Boot Camp at 6:30 a.m. – home to take care of the animals – out the door to Berkley Springs, WV for massages – an amazing late lunch at a favorite restaurant in this special town – home to take care of the animals – a great home cooked meal prepared together (we both love to cook)….a game of Scrabble (the only day of the year that John agrees to play with me)…..and then a great chat together about the blessed year!
FINALLY — what will you win??????……things that YOU LOVE AND USE! It is all about adhesives as I hope that we will STICK TOGETHER!
- A Bottle of Green Glue (Mono Glue)
- Fast Fuse (LOVE it)
- Tear-n-tape (a life saver many, many times)
- Mini Glue Dots (the ULTIMATE “hider” for many things to adhere)
Enjoy the day and let’s get some comments going about what you do to ring in the New Year (honestly – we are asleep before the ball drops)….I appreciate you and I wish you a safe and fun day!
Pop back tomorrow as I will have another story with the animals and MORE blog candy……this is such a FUN TIME of the year – let’s kick back and enjoy!

Oh… how I love reading your stories … too darn funny 😉 Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family my friend … <3… We will be ringing in the new year with our family .. all together… eating, playing games, and visiting with one another… Planning fun activties we want to share during 2017 … Much love and lots of Smiles…
With family and friends and trying to “beat” my daughter at Scrabble.
Happy New Year Susan.
We will spend New Year’s Eve with two couples that are long time and best friends….camped together as our kids were growing up. Now we go to B & B’s together!
Cute story. Enjoy reading what’s going on at Randall Lane. We will spend New Years Eve eating pizza at our local pizza place and then back home to watch a movie. Happy New Year to you and your family!
Love all your tips and memories, I plan on being with my daughter and her family for New Year’s, we sit around and eat snacks and then have a great meal.
Adorable story! Always excitement and laughter at Randall Lane! Thanks for sharing with us, Susan. We go out to dinner with about 15 good friends. We will be home early for a “sleepover” with one of our granddogs, play and have fun with him for awhile then zzzz before the ball drops. Happy New Year everyone! ?
We will gather here with 3 other couples, have snacks, pizza, dessert and play Mexican Train Dominoes until around 10:30 when everyone leaves and we are in bed sound asleep when the ball drops.
Love hearing about your animals and life on the farm. Happy New Year!
Great stories, Susan. I have heard of young children locking car doors, but this is a first to me of dogs doing it. We have been out with different friends the past two nights to delicious dinners, so tonight we will have one of my husband’s great dinners. (Isn’t dinner always delicious when hubby cooks???) Then if tradition stands, he will be in bed before the ball drops in NYC and I will stay up to ring in the new year. Nothing exciting here. We have had a very blessed year. Happy New Year to you and your family, Susan, and to all your peeps on the blog.
I love reading your blog each day, Susan. You always provide a laugh or two and I appreciate you sharing all about your family. We are hosting a New Year’s Eve party tonight for a few friends—–something we never do, but this year is different. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in April of this year and since then, I’ve decided to live like I was dying, so to speak. I am blessed to still have the strength and energy to do what I love most—spending time with friends and family and sharing my faith with others.
Bless you, Kathy! My prayers are with you?
Thank you for sharing your dog stories! They are great. I will be going to my mom’s house- she’s 88. My brother and his family from Florida are here and my sister and her husband from NC. We don’t all get together very often. And my aunt and cousin are also coming. Plus 5 dogs will be there! It will be an early evening for us because we have church in the morning. But it will be fun!
Happy New Year. What happy memories you have. Thanks for sharing some of them with us. 2016 ended with immeasurable sadness for us as my sister Mur died after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. My other sister, some friends and I are going to Mur’s mountain cabin to ring in the new year without her for the first time in twenty-odd years. We’ll toast her and the new year and hope it brings healing and good health.
You are so right about “home is my home”. People go to visit not your house but you. Sounds like you have a special home. Memories make us who we are – thank you for sharing yours. I’ll bring in 2017 with a quiet night and reflect on those who have passed on and for having faith that my daughter ‘s health is improving (long story) and thanking God for all that we have. Wishing you and your family as well as all those who share on your blog a Blessed New Year. Hugs to all Jamie
Hi Susan,
WOW, what a post! First we will be in bed way before midnight, but I set my alarm for 11:55 p.m. I LOVE to take pics of the ball falling. This starts my photo album off for the New Year. I’ve been doing this for so many years I can’t remember. Did you know you can take pics of your TV screen? Then, we go back to sleep. Ha. Ha.
About animals and cleaning teeth . . . I had never heard of this in my life until I met my husband. He decided to get our “Hannah’s” teeth clean for Thanksgiving company. Unfortunately, he thinks this did her in. She was never the same and went over the rainbow in January, in a split second, at my feet. Honestly, we will never know. The point of my story, is I guess you should get the vet’s O.K. to have this procedure done. It just sounds so innocent, right? (My two girls, ages 9 and 7 at the time, named Hannah for “Hannah and Her Sisters”).
HAPPY, HEALTHY and BLESSED 2017 to all!
🙂
Susan, you are one of the reasons I love getting out of bed in the morning! I always look forward to reading your blog…Love the heart warming animal stories, human stories, any kind of stories because you make them fun to read. I have laughed numerous times over the things you go through. Ok, what am I doing today. Harrisonburg has First Night activities, music, dancing and lots of shows to ring in the new year; always a fun place to be. We’ve gone several times and have never been disappointed. During the day, I’ll probably make a card, prepare some food and clean the house because tomorrow we are having dinner guests. Have a fun day today with your hubby!
Susan, I have to laugh, of COURSE you have to bring both pups home! You have a very smart daughter! That is how we ended up with two 100+ pound collies a number of years ago. I had to have them both! As for Boot Camp, I have friends who have tried to talk me into going….. It didn’t happen! You are amazing! Don’t you get enough exercise with all that horse poop!?!?!? As for today, my very dry, once alive tree really needs to come down. But I just can’t let it go! On the other hand I can’t light a fire in the fireplace until it goes! Have a VERY HAPPY YEAR!!!!!! ????
HNY Susan and all. I will spend a quiet New Years Eve with hubby Charlie and our hound mix Marty. A walk on the Hudson trail along the Raritan Bay, then home for take out sushi and champagne. My kids are back home after Christmas in Hoboken and Atlanta. I’ll try to get Charlie to play a game of scrabble or make a puzzle. I do NOT anticipate being awake at midnight, but I’ll kiss Charlie before I go to sleep!
As I’m eating breakfast reading your story, It brings a smile to my face. Dogs are the best with so many different personalities. I have a Havanese named Ollie who I absolutely adore. Tonight my family will be spending our last night of 2016 with a group of our friends and their children. It’s actually a pajama party, wie’ll be eating Italian food with plenty of dessert and a lot of fun games.
2017 will be an exciting year, I can feel it. Thank you for sharing all your stories and Happy New Year!
Tonight we keep things very low key. Our city has early fireworks (7 o’clock) so the whole family can enjoy. Will watch them and then probably do a movie and popcorn at my favorite place, home. Happy New Year to you.
Thanks for your great blog! I get lots lots lots of ideas from you!
What a fun blog today! Love the pictures of Hannah and the “pups.” The video is so funny! We spend a quiet New Year’s Eve. When the boys were home, they would stay up and wait for the ball to drop. Now Ray and I will watch some football and I know that I will fall asleep. The boys will all call before too late knowing their Mom will be in bed. Ray and I talk about all the blessings we have had during the year…especially our boys.
Thanks for all you do to make our stamping easier and fun. We appreciate you.
I so so enjoy your stories! I will probably stamp a little today, take care of my 6 month old puppy( he was neutered on Wed.) & then spend a quiet evening with my hubby.
A quiet ringing-in for us. We always talk about going out, and then talk ourselves out of it and are happy to be home.
I always spend the day with my 3 grand daughters. I take them to the movies and then we come home and play games until midnight to ring in the New Year. Then we are all grumpy the next day because we stayed up to late! 🙂
I just love your Terriers! They truly are great pups and perfect family members! Course I love your cards, stamping as well.
I always get a chuckle when I read your blog. Life is NEVER dull for you. Wishing you a very Happy New Year! We, too, are in bed before the ball drops.
Dear Susan, Your video is so funny. Your story about your two dogs going to the Vets is hysterical. I could not stop laughing. I love your site. I love your wonderful card ideas. All of your great tips. I have learned so very much from you over the years. You have great ideas that we all learn from. I loved waking up to your suite every day. It is always the first email I look at. I am so blessed to have you as one of my best cyber friends. Susan, as we celebrate another wonderful year that God has blessed us with so very much, many many Blessings, Graces, things that are not always happy but, God always walks with us. He never leaves us alone. We trust in God to walk beside us and guide us. I want to send a special prayer to Kathy and send prayers to her. I hope that God will bless you as you walk this journey of cancer. I want to send a special prayer to Jamie, I am so sorry to hear of the death of your sister Mur. My sister died two years ago. You have my deepest sympathy for you and your family. I want to send a special blessing from God to you Susan and your family and to all of your cyber friends. May God Be with all of us this coming year. As for celebrating the New Year. We will quietly spend time with my family. Count all of our blessings and be grateful for another year ahead for all of us, and go to bed early. Love to all and I wish everyone a Very Healthy Happy New Year. Ellen Hinds
Plans for New Years Eve: nothing! Yesterday we spent 13 hours in the car driving from NH to Ohio through persisting snow squalls. We had been visiting our daughter and her family for Christmas! (Might do some unpacking and laundry!) Happy New Year!
New Year’s Eve will be a pretty quiet holiday here – until midnight, that is! An early dinner with neighbors will get us home well before midnight when the creek behind me becomes alive with fireworks! It will be like the Fourth of July for about ten minutes or until even the copious amounts of alcohol can’t provide enough warmth to keep people outside! We will probably even be able to see some of the fireworks display from downtown Baltimore. We have been seeing the “warm up” fireworks in the neighborhood for a week now so I’m expecting another spectacular display to ring in the New Year.
Thank you for your fun stories!! We will spend the evening at home putting a puzzle together and maybe watching a movie. We always try to stay up but usually don’t make it. Happy New Year to all!!
Susan, I just love your posts and your animals too. We have 2 adopted dogs of our own.
New Years Eve we stay at home and watch all the festivities on TV. It’s an effort but we usually stay awake till midnight but not much longer. We recently moved to a +55 place at the Jersey shore. It’s pretty quiet here.
🙂
Happy New Year to you and yours!
I LOVE your stories ! And the video – those dogs are sweet ! So you are going to “stick” it to us for the new year with your adhesives ! I am a glue dot freak – love them and use them all the time – even to hold my comb attachment to my hair dryer ! Thank you for brightening my day with your family stories ! My husband and I are going our to dinner with our middle son and his beautiful Asian wife ! We live in Dallas – so going to a steakhouse is like a mortgage payment – but it is for a special night – have to look at it like that ! I’m sure we will be in bed before midnight but will wake up to pots clanging outside at midnight (next-door neighbors – go John and Carolyn !) Happy New Year to you – and I look forward to more of your plain and simple cards ! (which by the way are always BEAUTIFUL !)
Well this year will be quiet. My husband just had back surgery so I am going to try out a new crockpot Indian recipe. Then we will watch the ball drop on TV. Happy New Year and keep the stories of your animals coming.
Happy New Year to you and yours! We are at our cabin on the lake in Kentucky with one of our sons, his wife and three little ones. They are 5, 3 and 8 months. So you can imagine the chaos, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. I suspect my daughter-in-law and I will be the only ones to see in the new year but what a great way to celebrate. I would love to have some sticky stuff if m name is chosen. But, hate ear the case I really enjoy reading your blog and casing your fabulous cards. Happy New Year!??????
What a wonderful post, Susan! I too look forward to your daily posts each morning and this one was over the top! Who ever heard of doggies locking the doors. They are some lucky pups. We will have our three grandchildren (ages 2, 6, and 9) over for New Years while their parents have their fun. We decorate the house….lots of balloons…and last year the two oldest actually stayed up until midnight. We’ll play games, watch a movie and eat “fun” food. Maybe they will sleep in. Wishful thinking. Blessings to all.
Love your dog and horse stories. We have three rescues right now, lost one to cancer two months ago 🙁 My dogs choice of poo to roll in is cat poo! Of course, it is the worst!! Lucky, they haven’t found any for a long time! 🙂 We will be staying home tonight, will go to church, out for a quick bite, then home to stay with the dogs, nothing better!!
My evening won’t be much fun…but it is a necessity at this point. I need to clean up the mess that I have created in my basement before my son returns home from New Jersey City University. His plane arrives at 3pm January 1st and I only have 24 hours to put away all the stuff that I have been hoarding, hiding or just too lazy to put away for 5 months! Happy New Year and Happy Clean Basement to me!
Our neighborhood has a family event in the park. Hay rides, hot chocolate, music and then a great fireworks display at 8pm. Means we can celebrate the new year even if we don’t make it to midnight!!
I will be going to Church with my husband and then home for dinner and since we are in California we can watch the ball fall at 9 and then off to bed. Have a blessed, happy, healthy New Year.
First of all…..Happy New Year to you & your family…….all the four-legged ones too!! We always have a quiet night at home. Just the 2 of us……our choice! We have some great appetizers, watch a movie……then crack a bottle of champagne to toast the New Year as the ball drops in New York…….then we seem to get a “second wind” & talk about what a year it has been & what we would like to do in the new year!! So glad we have each other…..my best friend!
I’ve been locked out of my car by a dog too! The worst part was watching his sad little face while I waited for the locksmith to arrive. Between that incident and the psycho car I had that would just randomly lock itself, I now make sure to take the keys with me every time I leave the car!
Happy New Year everyone!
Just when I finally quit chuckling and have it down to a smile I hear galloping on the part of the roof outside the computer room. I look out to see 3 squirrels chasing each other back and forth. The 2nd squirrel must be related to Charlie in some way as he lost both walnuts he had in his cheeks while running. The lead squirrel makes the leap to the pine tree branch nearest the roof but the 2nd squirrel didn’t wait for the branch to swing back towards the roof and he makes the giant leap and of course missed the branch! He falls to the ground but got up and shook it off and ran off. The 3rd squirrel decided to climb down the porch column to safety. I suppose now we will have a walnut tree growing in our gutter next spring if one of the squirrels don’t come back and get them.
What is it with dogs and poop? No wonder Ted’s tummy has been making noises and all that stuff – his newest is the rabbit poop. I can just imagine being in the car with the smell and all let alone locking the doors. Maybe it is a blessing Ted doesn’t seem to know how to get in the car.
Tonight, I will most likely be snuggled in bed way before the magic hour. We had a frozen pizza for supper last night so I have no idea about tonight. We are not party people. Mike has some beer and snacks but I think they are reserved for football tomorrow and Monday when Iowa plays.
Happy New Year everyone with hugs and well wishes to all that need them.
Happy New Year to you and your whole clan Susan! I love starting the day with your blog. My clan includes three shelter kitties, two home from college peeps, one with girlfriend, my brother, and any strays who know they are always welcome. We will play games at a friend’s until midnight, then everyone goes out into the street and bangs pots and pans, it’s a great way to send off the old year and start the new one.
What a fun blog read today! Love dogs too. After many years of babysitting the grandchildren, they are all teenagers now and they and their moms are busy. So Abby, my foster dog and I will cuddle on the couch after her 10:00 walk and watch the ball go down at ll. I am content and look forward to card making in the new year.
As I have always said, Susan, you can never be too rich (gotta have money for all those fabulous SU supplies!!), too thin or have too many sweet little dogs (or maybe one very spoiled little toy poodle with an ADORABLE face, a stub of a tail that wags at 90 miles an hour and a charming personality!!) and I love Jack and Charlie, too! All you need is love and dogs.
Enjoyed sharing in your walk down memory lane Susan! Our pets certainly do enrich our lives and we are blessed to share our time with them. Happy New Year wishes to you!
Love to read your stories about family and animal friends. And seeing pictures of Hannah, horse and dog reminds me of two of our granddaughters who are horse (animal) lovers One became a doctor of veterinary medicine and her love is working with horses. This year she is in her glory working with horses and other animals. But only for this year, what happens in June we are waiting to hear about Shirley B
Housecleaning right now – it’s been a long week of Christmas Ing! And then hopefully just relaxing. Yes we will be in bed before midnight – lol!
I plan on stamping tonight after dinner at home. I am making the thank you that you showed a couple of days ago. I am making them in the college colors of University of Florida since my daughter just graduated and needs thank yous!
I always love your stories about your dogs.i am a “dog lover” but now I have a rescued cat. He is my buddy and bed fellow. He and I will have dinner with a glass of wine while watching a ballgame then off to bed. I hope to get in my craft room this afternoon to make some of your “thank you” cards. Enjoy your dogs and family. .
We celebrate very quietly,. My husband mostly with ball games, and I in my recliner with my tablet or knitting!
We may stay up to see the ball drop in Times Square! I just love your stories,. pictures , and now even a video
Of your furry family members! I usually laugh out loud at their antics and my husband asks what is funny.
A very Happy New Year to you and your family!
I am hoping to go to friends house to a gathering of friends we have had for ages. But right now I am laying in bed with a nasty cold, which needs to disappear quickly.
We have two rescue dogs and they are the sweetest companions. I too, have video of our “boys” playing. They sure can entertain. My husband and I love watching football and plan to celebrate our New Year quietly at home. Thank you for sharing your memories. Happy New Year!
we are going to as friend’s house to eat and visit.
LOVE your stories traveling down memory lane! I am staying home with my daughter tonight watching recorded Hallmark movies while my husband is quail hunting in OK and my son is at his girlfriend’s. I am running low on adhesive and would love to win…Thanks for the chance.
Susan, I LOVE reading about your Memory Lanes! No apologies necessary, for me, anyway!! I will have a nice, quiet evening with my 9 year old Maltese, Zoey…we’ll both be makin’ zzzzz’s before the ball drops, LOL! Happy New Year to you, sweet friend!
I look forward to all your posts……the Stampin Up ones and the “Critters” posts and all in between. I have a Yorkie, and a Rescue, my third. They are characters, just like your Jack Russell’s…..I love him to death. And yes, they know when it is a fun ride or to the vets…..HaHa.
Keep up all your posts…..I look forward to new cards and ideas and the news about the Critters……Have a wonderful New Year’s…..we are into to playing Monopoly!
I will likely be making cards as I only have 3 more days of vacation left before heading back to work. My craft room is my sanctuary. I’ll probably be awake to watch the new year come in too! Your stories are the best!
Thank you Susan for the fun stories and pictures. I always look forward to reading them. We have a one year old Borzoi puppy who injured his shoulder (rotator cuff) so we’ll be staying home. That’s our normal routine anyway since we don’t like to be out on the road on New Year’s. We’ll Bar-B-Q some steaks and have a special dessert. It’s doubtful we’ll see the ball drop. Have a safe and Happy New Year!
Susan, I always feel like I get to know you a little better each time I read your stories. We are actually going to a party. The good news, the venue is across the street. I too hope to be in bed before the ball drops, but it’s a little unlikely. May God continue to bless you and your precious “peeps”.
First off -I love to read your stories! I, too, am a dog lover. Most of our dogs have been/are labs since my husband is a hunter. But they have all been great companions and super great with little kids as well as everyone else. We had Christmas at our son & daughter-in-law’s – 12 people + 7 dogs!! But they were all very well behaved and quite the assortment! To celebrate New Year’s Eve, we are going over to some friends for cards (playing) and snacks and good times. We’ve been doing this for the past 30 some years and we really enjoy it and their company! Thanks for a chance to win some great blog candy! Love your creations and your blog!
Thanks for your wonderful stories and your wonderful posts. I look forward to them each day. I will probably clean my craft room as I have been busy making special gifts for the nurses at the hospital. Happy New Year to all the cyber friends.
Happy New Year! I’m going to church where we will have worship, dinner and a white elephant exchange. We will ring in the New Year early as we are expecting snow. Thank you for your wonderful stories and card inspirations.
Spending it with my 2 oldest grandchildren this year who we haven’t seen in over 2 years!
Honestly, Susan, I don’t know which I look forward to more: the inspiring SU projects or the fabulous stories! Happy New Year, my dear, with deepest thanks for all you share with us. I’m on my way to Florida from Vermont with an elderly friend who winters in the South. She, her cocker spaniel and I drive down and then I’ll fly home. At the beginning of May, I’ll fly down to drive her home. That means we’re in a hotel for tonight because she can’t get into her condo until tomorrow afternoon, but we’ll share a few drinks and MANY laughs and start out early for the last leg of our trip. It’s all about who you’re with, not what you do, right? Here’s to a wonderful 2017 for you and your extended family!
I think God brought you into my life this year. There are so many things you post that I relate to and your blog brings me much joy. Your cyber friends are special people and I love reading their comments as well. Today’s story was no different…..I enjoyed it and the pictures you share with us. I have a special place in my heart for those Jack Russells which may have been the “glue” keeping me reading each and every day. Your simple style is just what I like and I just want to say thank you for all you share….your cards, your family and your thoughtfulness towards all of us out here reading and starting our days with you. Happy New Year and God Bless!!!!! ?
Love going down memory lane with you. It is raining here in Tucson and is damp and cold, so no late golf cart ride to watch the moon come up over the mountains. Guess it will be dinner with my hubby at one of our favorite restaurants and watch all the people standing out in the cold at Times Square in NYC hoping the ball will hurry up and drop for 2017 to begin. Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always a fun time reading your blog. I chuckle, I learn, I share (sometimes). May each of you have a Blessed and Happy New Year. I will be home watching the ball drop — if I manage to stay awake. All my guests left yesterday and I have been doing load after load of wash and clearing out left-overs. Some to the freezer, some to neighbors and some down the disposal!
Love the pet stories! Watching the Cavs game and hopefully baking some chocolate chip cookies. Not sure if I will make it to midnight or not but also rented Secret Life of Pets.
Happy New Year Susan! Looking forward to another year of stamping inspiration!
I will be having a sleepover with my 18 month old grandson 🙂 can’t get any better than that!!
We will go out for an early dinner then get home to watch football and work on my craft room. We just moved and I have everything organized but have some decorating to do. A toast as the ball drops will cap off the night. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Susan! Love your stories and your blog!:) thank you!
I will be watching the ball drop with my family and doing my best to stay awake until midnight!;)
We are at our daughters helping her and her boyfriend do “Fixer upper” to their house, so it will be take out BBQ with the football games on working on the kitchen, living room and dinning room floors, with a toast to the new year. Kitchen cabinets go in on monday. Lots of work but love helping these kids out.
Will be a quiet day as had lunch with student teaching friends yesterday. The almost four hour drive with crazies wore me out. Still working on Christmas packages because of everyone’s crazy schedule. Always enjoy your Animal family stories. Happy New Year Susan!
Celebrated Christmas with my family today. Fun, food, laughs, more food…..and lots of joy filled my heart and home.
Loved your story! Aren’t dogs amazing! My husband and I had dinner with our son and daughter and their families and opened Christmas presents. Everyone has gone to bed and I will be following soon. Taking a moment to be thankful for all we have and praying for peace.
I always look forward to reading your blog, the family stories and fun SU creations and tips. As for our New Year’s Eve? Four grandkids, our daughters, & son-in-law all were here earlier making smores in the newly created fire pit. A gentle rain didn’t deter them from fire play and yummy marshmallow roasting. Later we ate and played table games inside. My husband and I are enjoying the quiet now. Ahh, love having family close and being involved, but also enjoy the quiet after the storm. By the way, all 6 of my grandkids, ages 2 to 11, love making cards with “grammy” and playing with my tools.
I’m so happy to see how many people spend the NY eve at home. I’ve been called fuddy duddy by my jet setting coworkers for years, but who is perky and rarin’ to go today? huh?! I made potato soup yesterday and it was okay… you know potato soup doesn’t come into it’s prime until the next day, so today it is stellar.
Love your stories about your peeps and pets. Having no peeps I relate to the pets one more. We had a tribe of 5 felines, but lost our 18-year old, Jack-o cat, the Tuesday before Christmas. Sorry I laughed at your pups locking you out of card. That way you can’t drive them to the dreaded V-E-T-S!
