Happy New Year to each and everyone of you….you families….your animals….your stamps…and I wish you all of the best for this new year!
Yesterday was a great day for us….and I will say as I read thru many of your comments I was AMAZED at how many Pizza People were out there…..so guess what?……
WE HAD PIZZA AND IT WAS YUMMY 🙂
Do you set a News Years Resolution? I know that many do and that also many just do not….whatever works for you is great! One resolution that we are making is to be more “mindful” with our diet (wow, that was a subtle way of saying it) so that is why we went all out…without one bit of guilt and ate a TON of Pizza!!!!
Let’s get to the WINNER…..I waited until 10:10 p.m. and then my eyes were about to drop so I then I went to Random.org to pick the winner!!!
O.k. – How about if WE ALL GET UP and do a dance….come on….it is January 1st and there are lots of resolutions out there…..GET UP and make a circle….shake your hands and say WOOT-WOOT to…...Sylvia! Please email me with your address……
(TRUST ME – do this and your family and animals will think you have LOST IT)
Here is her comment!
Here is today’s funny. I have a Pig. Her name is Daisy Mae and I love her. My family does not. My family is not nice to her. (well, they are not mean but they would rather we did not have her)
I have ALWAYS wanted a pig….WHY????I am not sure but I have wanted one. Almost 5 years ago, Daisy became an Itell. She was part of a divorce settlement (really…you cannot make this stuff up). She was still a baby – probably 9 months old and very small….and I went to this house in Virginia and met a women and was explained the situation (good thing I did not need to go to court) but all I could say was, I would try to see if it worked out. (making sure the dogs loved her as much as I did)
I brought her home (John did not know but a girl has to do what a girl needs to do) and in the end – he was fine as he knew that I always wanted one. At this time we had 5 dogs and I didn’t plan it to well in the introduction as it was a total 3 ring circus. I can specifically remember this day because I was by myself with the truck and trailer and I came home and Daisy was just sitting in the front seat of my truck (now that is a hoot to drive past someone and have them take a double take)
I left her in the truck, brought all 5 dogs into our family room….shut the doors – ran out to get Daisy and I just DID IT – plopped her down on the rug and it was priceless – I truly wish that I had a video of that because it was a circus! The dogs were actually a bit scared of her and would go and smell her…..she would make a noise and they would pop back and look at me like “what the heck is that”
Pigs get a really bum wrap….they are not dirty. The are super smart. They are super easy to train. They can be house-broken faster than a dog. They LOVE & NEED routine. They loved to be loved, and I love Daisy!
As I have said, the peeps are not a Daisy fan. Hannah is in total disbelief that she has a crush with Oscar. Each and every day Oscar and Daisy have a little love/hate moment with each other….below you will see a video that I snapped one morning when cleaning Oscar’s stall. I sent to to Hannah and she agreed – Daisy does like Oscar….A LOT – look at how her hair stands up…..she just loves her big brother!
(Video Pending)
I love Oscar and I love Daisy….she really is a “good girl” and she love me! I often get asked…“What does she eat?” – Easy – Pig food…..she eats a 1/4 cup of Mini Pig Food a day but she has a super soft spot for Strawberries and Blueberries!
I wish that you could see the expression on peoples face when they come to the house and see that we have a “house pig” – One day we had a furnace guy here and said, “HEY LADY….do you know there is a pig in your house” – I looked at him like – REALLY.….!!!! 😕
Never a dull moment and I like it like that!
In ringing in the NEW YEAR – let’s have MORE blog candy…..how about the things that YOU REALLY LOVE AND USE!!!!
- a Pack of Very Vanilla Envelopes
- a Pack of Whisper White Envelopes
- A Pack of Note Cards & Envelopes
Just leave a comment on what type of card/cards that you would like to see more of….I know that we all have cards that we have struggle with in making! I admit, we all get in a rut and there are cards that we just simply have a tough time with….
I promise, I will try my best to help you! Happy New Year…you ALL are the best and Stampin’ hugs and blessings to all!
p.s. – Please look under the tab of my header and click on Product Share to see if you want a share. The cut off for the 1st share is Friday the 6th. I will be offering another share the 3rd week of January. If I were you, I would hop on that 1st Train 🙂 ….

Happy New Year 2017, Susan! Loved the video of Oscar and Daisy. ?
Happy and Blessed New Year to you and your family! I adore your posts and especially when you share pics of your animals and family members. Daisy Mae is adorable and honestly, you have a gorgeous barn! Randall Lane looks like such a wonderful place! As for cards, sadly, I seem to be needing more and more sympathy cards and I have a tough time finding good ideas. With your clean and simple style I am hoping you might have some suggestions? Best wishes and thanks for all that you do (for humans and the animals)!
Good Morning my friend! Happy 2017. I try to keep generic “thinking of you” around, but they seem to go so fast. Maybe some of these.
🙂
I, too, could use sympathy card ideas, especially for a man. I always struggle to create those cards.
Happy New Year with thanks for all the inspiration you share. May your 2017 be filled with nothing but the best for all the Itells.
Happy New Year!!!! I need to make a bunch of sympathy cards for my stash. Always seem to need them in a pinch. Looking forward to a new year of inspiration on Simple Stampin’.
Sympathy and get well are cards I need. Daisy Mae is precious and I know there is never a dull moment at the Itell farm. Happy New Year to you and John!
Loved the video! Not a card, but I love your 3-D items and hope for some more posts about those. Happy New Year!
Thanks for your posts, Susan. I’d love to see more cards for men – for any occasion.
A Happy and blessed New Year to you and your family. Well I am also finding a need for more and more sympathy cards. I tend to look for simplicity but with elegance. Many times I get an idea and it never quite looks like I envision it to be. I like the tone on tones and very vanilla and whisper white are of course staples in my card stock. I find sentiment stamps often don’t quite express what you want to say and have to write my own… my lettering is somewhat to be desired. Do you have any suggestions on spacing and lines. I’m always writing up or down hill…?. Thanks and all the best for 2017.?
Always need sympath cards. Really would like some that are not too flowery that could be given to a male recipient. Happy New Yr!
Sympathy cards are the hardest for me.
Happy New Year my friend! Love your pig story…you really do “drive Miss Daisy” around. Perhaps a child’s card would be interesting. Have a fun relaxing day.
OMG Susan! A pig in the house….lol. And the horse gives her a kiss!?! I love it! Your stories are great!
The cards I have the most difficult time with are masculine cards.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you and your family, Susan! I always look forward to reading your blog, love your animal stories and appreciate your never ending inspiration! Lately I have struggled with creating notecards WITHOUT a sentiment on the front. i am trying to create notecards to give as a gift, but want them to be generally purposeful so the recipient can use them for any occasion of their choice. Thank you for this chance to win!!
Susan, you are a hoot! Happy New Year 2017!! I love sweet Daisy…and that video, priceless! I’m needing more masculine ideas for cards…hmm. Have a wonderful, relaxing day, my friend!
Oh, Susan, I love your little videos! This one made me smile!! As you know, my 3 year old grandson’s name is Oscar, so that really made me smile! I, like everyone else seems to be sharing, never have enough sympathy or get well cards on hand. I make them as I need them. We don’t seem to have a good ol’ Get Well stamp, either. Or am I overlooking something? That would be my request. Happy New Year to the Itell Family!
It’s always fun but challenging to see the 3D cards. People enjoy the cards where you have changed it up a notch and it shows you’ve put extra effort into a creation. Those extra folds and twists can really bump up the WOW in a cards.
I love fancy fold cards. I try to make something different for folks that you just can’t get anywhere else
My friend has a pig too!!
I love the challenge of making fancy folds but what I struggle with is sympathy or get well cards for friends who are seriously ill. Happy New year.
Congrats to Sylvia! I am over the moon to see Daisy Mae in today’s post 🙂 I loved the video. I have heard that pigs are very smart. The first thought that came to mind is a thinking of you type card for a man. I read over the comments so far and I agree with everyone….3D, sympathy, get well (yes!), plain with no sentiment (great idea!)
Oh Daisy is so sweet!!! I have a wedding in the family so I have been looking at the new catalog looking for wedding specific products liking what I see!! My to be daughter in law wants me to make the wedding invites!! How about wedding cards in the Nrw Year.
I struggle with Get Well Cards. For friends, family, young and old. Happy New Year?
Happy New Year to all! I would love to see more get well, sympathy cards & masculine cards! Love all your tips & tricks!
You have quite the assortment of pets at your house. I can see why there is never a dull moment. Good for you. As for suggestions for new cards, I made a pop-up that twisted and it had room for 4 letters in squares, this one was a Christmas card, it said NOEL. It was really a wowser and I would love to see other versions of it. Also, I keep hearing about the great colored pencils, it would be fun to see more of how they are used. I really enjoy your blog, you have a way of putting yourself out there as a real person with a warm heart. Thanks for sharing you, with all of us.
Happy New Years Susan Love following your blog feel like part of your family with the great photos and videos you share. Love to see cards for men as I have five of them in my life and it seems to get harder to come up with something new. My men are not big on sports or hunting so always look for something different.
Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy.
Love the video! Fancy folds and pop up boxes are what I want to make in 2017. Love your tips!! They have really been helpful!

Happy New Year! Daisy brings back memories. We moved to a farm when I was 12. Long story, but basically it was my Ohio farm-boy father’s dream, not my NYC-born mother’s (which may come as no surprise). Dad raised Angus cattle, and for a brief period, pigs. I loved the farm, especially the chickens, and one little pig that was the runt of the litter…Lovey, was her name. She was so small she could slide under the fence of the pig pen and would head straight for the back door, waiting for someone to come out to play. I’d hear, “Get that pig out of my flowers” –well, pretty often… Anyway…about cards. I think you do a great job of mixing it up, but I always appreciate new ideas for sympathy, thinking of you cards.
I would like to see more CAS masculine cards (birthday, thinking of you, sympathy).
Happy New Year to you and your family!
Whatever your little heart, mind, and fingers feel like making! I would like sometime to see what the watercolor pencils do on the various cardstock, watercolor paper, etc. I know some will “pill” with too much water but I wonder if the color changes with the type of paper. I love a good fancy fold or 3D that is just a bit different. Everyone seems to struggle with this or that, well heck, my middle name is struggle. So, I guess I just need stuff to CASE or a jumping off point. I am always one for more bang for the buck so taking one stamp set and being able to create cards for various occasions would be good. What am I trying to say?
Happy New Year to you and your family, including all the animals. I can always use sympathy cards and all occasions for men. Actually any and all occasions with your simple but elegant designs are appreciated. I love your CAS style with the great tips you give us for creating them.
Of course you have a pig…because you have the biggest heart!!! Sending you hugs for the New Year sweet friend! One of my big blessings of 2016 was meeting you!! 🙂
Happy 2017. Looking forward to practicing more coloring, both water coloring and using colored pencils. I agree that sympathy cards offer me a challenge. Also would like to start a stash of generic cards.
Thank you for the video of Daisy!! My sister has a house pig too. I am sure she will love to see this post 🙂 I am looking for more masculine cards, like everyone else, but would also love to see some cards appropriate for children. I have a lot of grandchildren and always need new ideas. Happy New Year to everyone!!
Happy New Year!!!! Precious video! I am always eager to try new products like the water color pencils and new framelits. The 3-D projects would be fun to see more of.
I love to watch videos of card making, especially 3d things. Thank you for all your good ideas! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Susan! My request would be for more masculine cards….you can’t put bows and flowers on everything, you know! Thanks.
Loved learning about Daisy. What a hoot. I’d like to see more ideas for masculine cards, boys and men. I’ve only one grandson (a teen), but soooo hard to make a card for! Thanks!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to the entire “family”……they come in all designs!! I love all your cards…….I CASE many of them. I do struggle with sympathy cards that aren’t all flowers & masculine cards……looking forward to another year of creativity……..of all forms.
Happy New Year to all! Knew you had a pig, but didn’t know her background or whole story. What a hoot! Thanks for the chuckle. Any card ideas would be great. Birthday cards and Thank Yous can be challenging…too girly or too masculine.
Happy New Year to all at Randall Lane! I love all your ideas, and when I have to come up with a card on the fly, love your peanut butter and jelly ones, I case them a lot! Just keep doing what you’re doing!
Happy New Year! Love checking out your blog and reading your stories. And love your cards. What I’d like more of is masculine cards. Always have trouble with those.
Happy New Year, I adore your pig. I had a pet chicken as a child that followed me wherever I went, I have problems creating “tween” cards & could use some inspiration!
Dear Susan, Happy New Year o you and your family. Your stories about your children or your animals are wonderful. I bet there is never a dull omens they’re. Daisy Mae is so cute. I love hearing about her. The video is great. I would like to see more masculine cards and sympathy cards. I always struggle with them.
Congratulations to Sylvia Baldini on winning one of your blog candy. Sylvia is one of my best friends. Hugs to you, Have a great day, Ellen Hinds

Happy New Year! Please do more masculine cards! I have trouble with ideas for them! Thanks for all you share with us! You are the best!
Masculine Cards….
Susan,. You’ve done it again with the pig video___Daidy Mae is cute! My choice would be sympathy and/or get well,. Especially the inside!
OMG! I love that you wrote about Daisy today. We haven’t heard about her in so long that I feared the worst. I’m sad your family isn’t pro-Daisy but I’m sure you love her enough to make up for it.
The card I struggled with… and it might be too late for this or maybe super early is Happy New Year cards! Especially ones that didn’t feature drinking. I was clueless, everything I came up with felt to birthday-ish. Mostly though, keep on doing what you are doing!
Also, I guess I missed the pizza post yesterday, I’ll have to see what that was about. Pizza is our go-to Thanksgiving dinner. So little fuss! And no turkey (we’re not fond).
Masculine and Sympathy cards are two that I struggle with at times.
I really love your style and the “simplicity” of your cards.
Happy New Year! I love hearing your animal stories. I would like to see more sympathy and get well cards as well.
Without a doubt, masculine cards are hard for me – Get-well, sympathy, encouragment
I want a pig now!!! I would like to see more Get Well and Sympathy cards along with Christian based cards for Baptisms.
Happy New Year, Susan. I love your stories and seeing pictures of your 4 legged family. I am always looking for masculine, Happy Birthday cards ideas. Wishing you the best in the New Year.
Thank you for the video, Susan! I watched it several times and laughed after each one. How cute is that! A pig and her horse…I would love to see you post sympathy cards. I think everyone struggles with those because they need to be subtle, sensitive and caring. Happy New Year!!!
I am right there with everyone…sympathy cards and masculine cards are always challenging for me. Your dogs are adorable!
No one mentioned “happy Anniversary” cards. Am I the only one that sends them? With a large extended family I send anniversary cards to my cousin’s kids otherwise I couldn’t keep up with all the birthdays! Happy New Year!
I also have a hard time coming up with ideas for Anniversary cards. I’d like to see more of these.
Sympathy cards are the hardest for me as well as cards for seriously ill people who will not recover.
Love the stories and videos. Thanks for sharing about your animals. I’ve used my stash of sympathy cards and need to make more, and I hate to keep making the same ones. I’d also like to see a couple days of the same stamp set to get more ideas for using the same stamps in different ways.
My Mom had a pig growing up that slept with her. She was a nasty neat Mom and hearing she slept with a pig as a pet was mind boggling for us kids. Her pigs name was Zeke and she loved that pig.
I am helping the card writing lady in our Sunday School Class by making her cards, she is the sweetest lady and I am so excited to be able to help in her ministry. Someone that needs my cards is a gift from God!!! But like so many others the sympathy cards and cards for those of the church that we know won’t be with us much longer are the hardest cards to make.

I always have a hard time with guy cards. I love your simple and clean style of card making. So if you find a guy card that is your style go ahead and make it and share it with everybody. Your pet pig is so cute and she loves a horse. That’s great! Your love of your family and animals is enjoyable to read about.
I loved your video. I always love to hear about your animals. I would like to do more fancy fold cards this year.
Your pig is adorable! Sympathy cards are hard for me. Some ideas would be great.
