Good Tuesday morning and before we get to this very short post I want to say a big THANK YOU for the great “shout outs” of the post yesterday! Jeanie was tickled (as she should be) and wait to you see the other talent that I have on my Top Dogs Team! My hopes are to do a Blog Hop with my gals as they are amazing!
O.k – here you go…..I am going to let the video do all of the work today as I think that I covered it rather well. Adding love to the back of your envelopes is so easy and it really does not take much time or product….trust me on this one – the end result is well worth the effort!
Here you go…Enjoy!
I will do more videos about envelopes as I think that some of you are still not super comfortable with the Envelope Punch Board….that’s ok as I have a confession….I had that piece of plastic for probably 6 months before I figured it out. The moral of the story was simple – if I would have just watched a video….I would have NAILED IT from the start!
No I know that I will never win an Academy Award on my videos but that’s fine~ I just shoot them and go….be gentle on me but I hope that you find the video helpful!
Enjoy that day and please feel free to email me if you have any questions!
Here is the link of you are going right from You Tube, this way you will be able to see the links for the products used (tap on the show more tab) and while you are there….do me a favor and subscribe to my You Tube Channel so you will not miss future Academy Award shows! 🙂

Loved the video!! Your envelopes are always fabulous.
Love this envelope video. I didn’t see a link for the wider tear and tape though. Can you post one? Thanks so much.
Thanks for the comment. I went back and added the link for you to view it right from You Tube and there you will see the link for the wider tape but here you go…..I do like this 1/2″ width for certain projects, it is all about having the right tools at your fingertips to make the experience fun and easy!

Susan I think the video was perfect. I enjoy them so much. I am finally in the habit of decorating the envelope too, thanks to you. I especially like the “updated” tip of using Tear and Tape across the straight line. It makes it much easier, to me, and less messy.
Hope the snow stays to a minimum.
Have a great Tuesday!
🙂
BINGO….less mess is BEST! I think that the Tear & Tape there is a key! We are SNOW free….(for now)
Susan , thanks for sharing, love your video,
Hugs Frenchie
Oh Frenchie…..many thanks for popping in! Just seeing your name brings an instant smile to me face….have a great day!
Brilliant video!
Awe Mary……you are the best! I am trying….but you know me well enough – I am a ONE TAKE WONDER…!!!!
Well done! Love how you touched on everything and the tips. I say Oscar for you and definitely a SAG award….Stamping Artist Group (insert hand clap)! ??
LOVE IT…we have a NEW Group……I love the Stamping Artist Group!!!! You are getting to have many titles…from the BEST Sheep Herder….to now the President of the SAG!!!! Thanks for being in the house!
Great video! What do you recommend for attaching pieces that are embossed since you like to use the green glue? Thanks!
Hi Diane and thanks for popping in. I know that I said that I am not a fan of the green glue with embossed pieces because of the indentations from the embossing BUT….it is fine with the envelopes. I like to use Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape with embossed pieces….but I will say – I also like to run the adhesive the whole way down the embossed piece because I love to see it lay nice and flat (hope that this makes sense)
I think it’s wonderful that you used the tear and tape for the thin strip, Susan! Thank you for posting your video; it was very helpful indeed~
Hello my stampin’ friend! I go through Tear & Tape A BUNCH – I always have extra rolls on hand for the reason that I adore the ease, the super strong hold it gives and the fact that it is not messy!
Love the look of the envelops and I’m going to try this. The video was perfect and the instructions were so clear. Please do more videos.
Hi Cindy and I plan to do more videos….truth be told – we FINALLY was able to upgrade our internet speed at our home……living out has it limitations and yesterday we were upgraded….and trust me – I am doing the happy dance as it will be easier for me to upload!
I know that I need to figure out a way to make them shorter but it is my goal for you all to “get it” – I realize that we all are at different levels with our stamping and trust me…..I like the 1-2-3 method – I need to see it from start to finish!
You must do more videos. This was spot on. Good information. You mentioned that you don’t like to use green glue on embossed paper. What would you recommend?
Will do…Look above at the comment about the embossing option – in a nut shell…..I like to use fast fuse or Tear & Tape! Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and also leaving a comment! Enjoy the day….
Thank you so much for doing this. You made this look so easy, and after trying it out, it really is. Would love to see more videos from you as you explain things so well and in a slower manner.
You are so sweet and you made me laugh as I had John watch it and he said…..”Susan – you are speaking so slow….are you sure that is you!!!!” I tend to BUZZ right through my days but I am a firm believer that we all love to see things broken down so we can actually SEE it….DIGEST it….and then TRY IT!
Great video. Thanks for the idea of using Tear N Tape. That will make it much easier and quicker. Have a great day!
Tear & Tape to the rescue – a MUST HAVE in our stash of goodies! Using the combo of the tape and the green glue…. a perfect marriage!
I think you did a terrific job on the video. It was very helpful and easy to follow. Please do more videos!!
Hi Helen….thanks and hang tight – you might get tired of seeing me do videos! It is always my goal to make sure that people understand that they can DO IT!!! I know that we all can achieve many things…..and I will say, I am always asked about the envelopes…..EASY-PEASY…..right?????
Susan, I love your video!!! You should definitely not be shy about making more videos. And of course I like your tips. They are very helpful to me. I have benefited from all your tips :-). They make stamping better and more fun for me. Thanks for sharing!
Well….one thing that I am not is shy but I will say it is super hard for me to re-watch them as I just simply do not like hearing my voice and I think that I need to add more “PEP” to them….I am just thrilled that you found it helpful! I am a HUGE believer to share tips…this is how WE ALL LEARN!
Loved the video!!!! Great tip using the Tear N Tape!!! Much less messy than what I have been doing!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
Eliminating mess is a GREAT thing! I can remember when I first started using green glue I had it ALL OVER THE PLACE and did not like it – but now….I always have at least 2 extra bottles!
Loved this video so much! Thank you for sharing your awesomeness with us!!!!
Jennifer, you ALWAYS are the sweetest! So glad that you enjoyed it!
Great video – perfect instructions, no extraneous chit chat, perfect! Loving it with my coffee this morning. More please (videos, not coffee)!
Thanks Arlene – I am glad that we had coffee together!
Thank you for sharing your video and the tip on using Tear N Tape!
Tear and Tape ROCKS!
I too like the way you do a video. Informative, helpful, friendly and so easy to listen to and understand. You have inspired me in the past to look at my envelopes and add some first impression joy. Had not thought of the tear-n-tape strip. I found the green glue holds just about anything it comes in contact with. Thanks for another great Tuesday tip!
YIPPPEE…I love helping the TRIO!
Well isn’t that just easy enough!!! Thanks for sharing and showing us yet another one of your AMAZING projects and techniques!! Love your blog.
SOOOOOOOO easy – we all can make many smile!
LOVE IT ! The reason I like to get your Stamp Of The Month kit is because you always include videos ! You have that ability to simplify for some of us that get over involved in creating something that is supposed to be fun !!
How about sharing with us at some point what friend Jeanie was writing about in her comment in regard to your achievement ???? I won`t tell ….if it`s a secret ….giggle !!!
Oh Sonny – what can I say but you are the best! Thanks for the shout out about my kits….FUN to the MAX….just like YOU!
Wonderful video instructions, Susan! The Tear n Tape is the piece I was missing. I was using the green glue for those tiny strips and yes, they did come off! So next time – Tape it! thanks!
Hello my fabulous TOP DOG….tear n tape is the way to go = I say GO FOR IT!
P.S. Is that a quilting ruler ??? I collect rulers (along with office supplies and DSP ….giggle)
Yep…I love them….because they go down to 1/8″ …lifesaver…..ALWAYS!
Thank you SO much for the great video – and yes, I didn’t know it was so easy to dress up an envelope ! Now I am excited to try your ideas ! TFS
Don’t you love dressing up in a “snap” – THE WAY TO GO….always!
Like everyone else, I love your videos. They’re concise, clear, encouraging, and always make us feel like you’re chatting with us, not instructing us from some lofty perch in the card-maker’s rock star firmament (even if that IS a spot to which you are entitled!) I’ve been doing the tear ‘n tape thing for awhile but hadn’t trimmed into the actual envelope in cutting away the excess DSP and I think it will make a big difference in assuring that there is no opportunity for the 2 layers to get accidentally picked apart in transit. Thanks for the great tips and the ideas for a variety of envelope flap designs. Does “our” SAG give a lifetime achievement award? I know who the 1st recipient should be!!
I am beaming…thanks! In a million years, I would have never, EVER imagined that I would have a blog…I love what I do and I totally believe that each and everyone of us can make a difference! Thanks for popping in!
Susan, I think your videos are very professional. I know they are a lot of work, but hope you will do more. Note: if you do not have the wide tape, just use 2 strips of the narrow.
YES….you are SOOOOOOOO right! I totally forgot to mention that but THANK YOU for commenting that! I do hope that you try it!
I love the video! I have been trying to decorate the envelopes…like you. I would put the dsp on first to cover the flap then add the strip. Your method is much better. Thanks for your inspiration.
Try it this way, I think that you will be happy but WAY TO GO for making envelopes SMILE!
Great video! Clear and concise. Love the tip about using the tear and tape.
YEAH – 2 of the trip are in the house! I am smiling!
Thanks so much for these great tips! This is the first time I watched your videos and I appreciate how detailed you were. Thanks!
Well what can I say but a huge THANKS! I am a one take wonder and actually – these are easier and faster to do than typing! (the longest part is crossing your fingers and toes that it gets uploaded ok) – remember, I am computer challenged!
Now that was fun, almost the same as being there but of course not the same. Whatever, you know what I mean! I love the idea of the Tear and Tape strip as well as just outlining the flap with the green glue. I was adding some to the middle of the flap as well which really isn’t necessary. Plus, clipping a smidge of the real flap is a great idea. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! Love the idea that there is a thicker version of the tape – I never even thought to look! If you tell Sonny your achievement – I gotta know too! I can get the “sag” award as in lower case letters and my favorite Golden Book – The Saggy Baggy Elephant! Did anyone happen to catch Lester Holt’s Nightly News Show last night? Harry Smith did a segment on a college wrestler who was once homeless and now almost a star in his own right. That is Central College which is in the next block from our house. Yes, Teddy has been petted by Jaime, the wrestler, he thinks Ted is a cool dog! No, Ted was not part of the segment.
OK group, I left a comment on Jeanie’s blog today – how did I do? Yeah, I know I am full of hot air!
Awesome as always, Chris!
I need to pop over and check it out…I am tellin’ you – Jeanie is a hoot!
What can I say but once again – YOU ARE THE BEST and (teddy too)!
Great tips. Clipping a smidge of the envelop flap makes it so easy. I was trying to cut close to the edge and gave up. Now I can go back to making beautiful envelops. Thank you great video.
To me, that is key…..clipping a smidge does the job!
Great video, thanks so much!
Thanks Kathy…..I love sharing what I know that works for me!
Susan, Your video is wonderful. You are so amazing. Your cards and your envelopes are always so beautiful. I appreciate your time and tablet to show us how to make beautiful envelopes. Have a great day. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
Oh Ellen, you being in the house is the best! Many thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! So simple but didn’t seem so until your clear, concise, and not too fast talking video!! Now i’m going to begin doing my envelopes!
Go get them done and have FUN! Thanks for watching!
Susan, what a fabulous video! Love it! You taught us not only about envelopes, but also adhesives! Great job my friend!
Hello to one of the most special ladies I have ever met! Many thanks for your sweet words….you know that I love my envelopes!
Love the video!!! Great manicure too!!! LOL We should message to Stampin’ Up! that we want wider Tear & Tape! I have to say I love the way you don’t worry and let the Tear& Tape go over the ends of the envelope…I am always trying to tear it to the perfect measurement. I need to get over that! Keep the videos coming!
You are too much – Why in the heck would you worry about that tape……get it done!!!! I go through that adhesive like it is water! I swear between that tape, fast fuse and green glue….I could build a house – who needs mortar!
AWESOME! LOVED your video!! Thank you so much for sharing your technique. I didn’t realize it was so super simple! I just might start making more of my envelopes to match. May I ask if you have a simple technique to make envelope liners? I’m very happy when I see a liner for envelope I’ve received a card in.
Susan, thank you soooooo much for this post and video. I’ve enjoyed your blog for several months, and have wondered how you did your envelopes – they’re such a perfect finishing touch! I especially like how you extend the tear & tape beyond the envy – helps to keep it from wiggling while adhering the strip and DSP. I’m also going to try using DSP for the skinny strip with a larger embossed cardstock panel – thanks for this inspiration!!
I absolutely love this idea. The envelopes are so cheerful. Just like you! Just think what fun the postman has with mail you send out.
Really liked your video. I never thought to use Tear & tape….I always struggle with Fast Fuse or Tombow for that first line. Now I know better. TFS
