Good Tuesday to you! I have a cutie for you today! To me, this is a smile maker card and WOW…is it easy. When I was a scrapbooker, I used this layout a bunch as I love squares! I have some beauties of pictures for you today and I hope that this sweet card brings a smile to you!
Last month in my Classes to GO! I featured this stamp set/bundle and it turned out great. There is nothing more classic than a great scoop of ice cream but this sundae is a cinch to make. Let’s go!!!
If you have a 1″ square punch this makes this card even faster. If not, no biggie as we all can easily use our trimmer for making 1″ squares. On Tuesdays, I usually do Tips for Your Tuesday….but today I just had to share this with you but the great news….I will share with you the dimensions and TIPS to make this a fantastic layout for you to use over and over!
Layers, Layers….I love my layers (kind of like the scoops) – I ask you, how can you have just one scoop. When I went to Texas in the Fall….I have GREAT and oh so special memories of Millie, Alyece and I going to have an Ice Cream Cone together…that was a time that I will never let out of my heart!
Let’s chat about sprinkles – I admit, I adored all different colors of sprinkles on my Ice Cream ~ it was always the special finishing touch that made me smile when I was little! Today I used the Whisper White Craft Ink (that can be yours free this month with an order of $75+ with me) and then Chocolate Chip on the scoop of Vanilla!
Now isn’t this just plain FUN!!!! Just think of all of the colors you could use….next I will share with you the dimensions and tips to make this easy for you but now I ask you…..WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
This will be soooooo much fun to see what we like – I admit right off the bat – I am really boring with Ice Cream – I like simple flavors ~ my all time favorite is Baskin-Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip in a cup with that little pink spoon….I say – HEAVEN! 😀
Here you go…please try this layout – I know that you have gobs of stamps that you could use in the middle but heck, if you do not have this bundle….maybe it is time for you to HIT THAT PAW PRINT and get it. It is a classic that you will use a bunch!
- The card base is a 4 1/4″ square in thick whisper white
- Cut another piece of white to 4″ X 4″ – THIS IS KEY as it is sooooooo easy to adhere the 1″ squares on this piece. If you do not have a 1″ square punch…I would get one – you will use it for years! I like to use the green glue to wiggle them in place.
- Adhere this piece popped up with dimensions or fun foam
- The white stitched square is the largest offered
- The sundae was a cinch, made with cardstock and the base is the Tasty Treats DSP
- I did make a custom envelope…(I just love doing this) but please know, with a 4 1/4″ square card you can still use one of our regular envelopes and it will not be additional postage.
I told you that it was easy….to me, this is a HAPPY CARD and one that the young, the teens, and the “in-betweens” would love as everyone loves Ice Cream!
Thanks for popping in and guess what tomorrow is…..it is a PALS blog hop…..hippity-hop~ let’s have fun getting inspired.

Love the fresh colors in your sweet card. Very fresh!
I’m bananas over the darling checkerboard pattern. Delightful card!
I love using my Square punch and DSP to make patchwork looking cards ! It is one of my favorite cards to do.
Your card looks actually edible !! Maybe we can invent “Taste A Card ” !
Comment about my word above ….I am not sure I spelled EDIBLE right ??? Is it EATABLE ??? Nope , I don`t think so ! Anyway ….your card looks Yummy !
Oh immediately I know “Mint Chocolate Chip” is my favorite. I am as crazy over Mint as I am there color Blue. Here is a funny story my girls tell about me from when they were little . . . whenever they fell or had problem or a little tummy-ache . . . I would say “Oh have a peppermint and you will be fine.” I didn’t know this until about five years ago. I guess I just find mint very soothing.
This is my one of my favorite card layouts, the squares and yours remind me of a table cloth.
Happy Tuesday.
🙂
You had me at “Square Card”. Love the “inchies” and the color choices. So now I’m off to have 3 scoops of ice cream ( with sprinkles, thank you) for breakfast!
I’m with Linda! Now I want ice-cream for breakfast! Ah, but my favorite these days is chocolate peanut butter! When I was a kid it was vanilla, only vanilla! Great fun card! I just love the bowl of ice-cream!!!
I love peanut butter…. I must find this chocolate peanut butter ice cream of which you speak and consume it all.
This is a very cute card, Susan, with the delicious looking bowl of ice cream. I love this design and the colors. Fresh peach ice cream is my favorite in summer or black cherry any time. I have a friend who always has ice cream for breakfast, but she doesn’t eat much the rest of the day to maintain her school-girl figure. Have a great day!
Super cute card. I have 3 favorites – chocolate, chocolate and chocolate.
Love the patchwork and the colors you chose for this adorable card! My fav is pistachio but I have been known to eat any flavor. I also like a soft serve vanilla cone in the summer (actually any time of the year)! Have a “scoupable” day and enjoy yourself.
Cute card and I love the patchwork background. I love all kinds of ice cream, but my favorite is chocolate peanut butter. Turkey Hill and Breyers both have it. TFS
This is the second mention of this chocolate peanut butter ice cream. How do I not know such a thing exists?! I googled it so I know that indeed, Breyers makes it. I even posted it to Facebook. I drew the line at offering “favors” to the first person to bring me some. A girl’s gotta draw the line.
The card is “DeLICKable” “DeLICKful” “DeLICKious” and delovely. No I am not crazy there was a song in a musical or somewhere when I was younger that said “It is delightful, delicious, delovely” or something like that. Or, maybe that was just some corny song but in my mind I can see someone like Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke singing it. Whatever, the card is just plain yummy looking. Here’s the scoup – I love the prints for the quilt part as the checks remind me of an ice cream cone and the dots are just plain fun and the cherry on top. The little sprinkles are such a fun touch as well. This is a really fun card. It depends on the season and my mood for a favorite. Nothing can beat a fresh homemade peach ice cream or homemade strawberry in my cookbook! But, I love soft serve twist cones. I have not been to a Baskin Robbins in ages but I had three favorites Chocolate Moouse, Daiquiri Ice (which looks like the pool party scoop in color), and Rum Raisin. Ummm and I don’t even drink these days. If I have Ben and Jerry’s it would most likely be strawberry cheesecake or coffee Heath bar or whatever and I don’t even drink coffee but I love the cappuccino taste with Heath bar bits in an ice cream. Back in Texas, Blue Bell had a limited one of coconut with chocolate and almonds like an Almond Joy candy bar. There are not too many flavors I don’t care for but Chunky Monkey is not one that I like that Mike loves – banana ice cream is just wrong. Mike doesn’t care for peanut butter in his ice cream so I rarely get by with getting chocolate with peanut butter in it. Go figure since he likes banana ice cream. Dairy Queen has a salted caramel something or rather with chocolate in it for a Blizzard right now and I have been known to tell Mike he is having a bad day would a chocolate malt help?
On another note, I had chickens on my mind as I was trying to drift off to sleep. Aunt Bea and Bea Arthur kept coming to mind. The chicken sort of looks like Aunt Bea in body shape (actually mine, now that I think about it except my butt doesn’t come to a point) but her hair was always so pretty. Also, what I think they term as a double chin instead of a waddle or whatever they call it. Oh cluck, I am taking on more characteristics of a chicken as I think – I have the little arms (wings) and teeny feet as well. But, I just don’t see me bending over so much to put my beak to the ground to eat – way too much to get in the way. How do they do that? Anyway, I am tossing that name back in when like when we were naming Henrietta. I just don’t want to ruffle any feathers as I remember several people liked that name.
Back to the ice cream, ah my big dog Murphy (think black lab/Great Dane mix) had his own ice cream lady at a little place a block from our house where they had doggy cones. They were the little baby sized ones but since he was so big and the lady loved Murphy he would get a king size one free. She would take her break and hand feed it to him and then finish it off with a dog treat. Is it a wonder he gained so much weight? He was the love of my life though.
Gee Susan, are we going to have to rename the blog to SImple Stampin by Susan and Random Musing by Chris?
Chris, I would subscribe to “Musings By Chris”! HINT HINT (and your card-making talents are pretty darn good, too–loved your card from Jeanie’s swap) Hmmmm…
Maybe Creative Comments by Chris? I can’t have a blog, I don’t even have a camera-ours was stolen when our house was broken into when we lived in Texas! I have the old flip phone but Mike has a better one that takes photos. What in the world would I muse about?????
Sign me up to follow that blog!!! I would be in pain from laughing so hard!!!
Chris, I would subscribe too! You crack me up with your humor! I like Aunt Bea…she could be the matriarch of the coop.
Definitely a cute card and reusable layout. I miss the Baskin Robbins shops. The last one I know of in the area closed within the last couple of years. Now if you find them, they are combined with Dunkin Donuts and just not the same 🙁 I used to love their chocolate chip and the Chocolate choc chip. As I got older, mint chocolate chip is now my favorite. There’s a small homemade ice cream parlor that is so worth the 1/2 hr drive that has the best ice cream and a (big) single scoop is still aound $2.
Love this card Susan, think I will have to case it. ?
I want to eat it!!! LOL
Ok so we need a like button like Facebook…these comments are so much fun!!!! I am always late to the party but then I get to read everyone’s comments before me. My favorite ice cream…I am pretty plain and somewhat particular. First of all, let me say ice cream is my favorite food in all the world!!! I discovered gelato last summer in France and never wanted to leave!!! I LOVE Sweet Frog…I wish I could live off their vanilla with fresh diced strawberries. YUM!!! YUM!!! I also LOVE Friendly’s orange sherbet. ( I do not like orange sherbet anywhere else and believe me I have tried)! There is also this little homemade ice cream shop on Cape Cod (The Ice Cream Sandwich… aptly named in the town of Sandwich) that has delicious ice cream and holds fond memories of our camping days! Oh dear, I might as well just apply the calories to my hips..guess what I’m craving? LOL Love your fun card Susan as much as ice cream itself! (And that’s A LOT!!!)
OK I want to know who had ice cream today after checking out this fun card and all our favorite flavors. I sure was tempted but stayed away (for today anyway!)
Haagen – Das Rum Raisin while watching The X Files !! Which I haven`t eaten in a long time nor watched X Files in ages !! I had the choice of Jamocha Almond Fudge and Chicago Justice …..but decided on UFOs And Raisins !!
Night Night !!
I love vanilla ice cream. When my husband and I were dating (30 years ago), I told him I could identify the brand of ice cream just by the taste…just like a sommelier can do with wine. He showed up at my apartment with four different vanilla ice creams, blindfolded me, and put me to the taste test. I, of course, aced the test. He’s never doubted my knowledge of ice cream since. Heh! We all have our little areas of expertise, don’t we? If push comes to shove, I also like butter pecan and very light milk chocolate, but vanilla will always be my favorite.
Your card is so stinkin’ cute! I was confused when I was reading your blog… thought it was someone else’s and thought, “Someone is making a card like Susan would.” Oh wait! It is SUSAN! Now I have break out the inch punch and make this card. Oh I probably need some ice cream paper (and ice cream in general) for proper inspiration. My favorite ice cream is…. well, as an asthmatic I’m not a big fan of ice cream as it makes my throat gunky and I have to clear it a lot and then people fuss over me. The fussing is worse than the gunk. So I have ice cream in the privacy of my own house and hubby knows to ignore the hack. I like ice cream with stuff in it… pralines or cookie dough. Hubby got some moose drool or something weird and that was okay. I love milk shakes the chocolate-y the better which is odd cuz I don’t like chocolate or milk or ice cream …. I’m just full of contradictions (and beans, I’m full of beans too, not the ones that make you toot but the ones that get you into trouble).
