Hello and yippee – I am back on track with our 2 day posts! for those of you that might be new to my blog, 1st….WELCOME and I hope that you hit the subscribe button and join my blogin’ fun as I love to share and inspire you with clean & simple cards….tell you funnies about life…teach you tips & tricks and just have good old fashion FUN together!
On the weekends I try to have a 2 day post where on Saturday I will share with you a clean & simple card and then on Sunday I will attempt to change it up a bit to basically STEP IT UP showing you that there are many different ways to tweak a great card.
Just like yesterdays card, this Stamp Set and Framelits are being carried over to the next catalog (WOOT-WOOT) BUT….it will not be available at the bundled price which will save you an instant 10% so the 1st thing you will learn today is…if you do not already have this super sweet Jar of Love Bundle….I would HOP ON IT as you will save 10% of you purchase it before the new catalog comes out!
You know me by now…I ADORE square cards and I like LOTS of white space! I think that I have clearly accomplished both if these on todays card. The one thing about this stamp set is the fact that we all can agree that they is nothing more traditional than a good old fashion Mason Jar.
I have many of them on my work area as I use them for buttons, rubber bands, containers for long thin strips of scraps – they are just useful and they are a smile maker. Sometimes I think that there are generations that just think that they were for making Strawberry Jam….well I do that too!
The overall size of the card is a 4 1/4″ square and then the white embossed area is a 4″ square and the Petal Burst Embossing folder was used. I swear that I forget about embossing folders but when I do use them…I am all smiles as they are a fun accent and they are super inexpensive for the look you get!
Here are pictures to show how I just went to town stamping the Mason jars…then the water in Soft Sky….then the stems in ear Pizzazz! Super easy! Off to Mr. Big Shot I go and with the help of the framelits for this bindle ~ PRESTO….the focal part to our card!
I know you you all enjoy when I share step by step pictures and I hope that these are helpful to you. This whole “Mason Jar” theme is so on trend and I am thrilled that it is carried over and hmmmmmm….there might be another stamp set coming to use with this in addition!!! 😀
You can easily see that being a floral arranger is super easy today and you can also see that it is a great way to use up scraps of white paper as all you have to do is have these 4 ingredients…
SCRAP PAPER + INK + STAMP + MR. BIG SHOT = FRESH FLOWERS
I will be totally honest with you – you can have so much fun using all sorts of color combinations for the double stamping on the flowers but I just stuck to 2 ink colors….the sweet sugarplum and calypso coral. It APPEARS that I used more but when you go over it on the 2d stamping, it will create an effect of 2 colors.
I just stuck with black for the insides of the flowers as I happen to like the contrast etc…but also it would be fun to use the Wink of Stella pen as well..
There is really not much magic to this…add some flowers flat and then pop some up and you are good to go – a beautiful bouquet! This truly is a unique bundle and you an easily see that there would be endless ideas with it!
There you go…and I will STICK TO my motto – it is TOTALLY hip to be square! I did use the envelope punch board to make a custom envelope but you could easily use one of our envelopes and have it go through the mail with a regular stamp! It is all about choices!
Please do not forget that this months freebie from me with an order of $75+ is a roll of tear -n- tape…..you can always find my monthly offering on my header above and also read about my generous rewards program….
I ADORED your comments yesterday and I am so happy that Daisy is loved by you guys as well…..she has a heart…just like you and I! Let’s all have a great weekend!
Oooooh, another set that just entered my home! I can’t believe I waited this long to get it! Beautiful card!!! Now, as for Mr Big Shot….. I immediately thought that he needed a name also. Mr Big reminded me of the tv show Sex in the City and the hansom Mr Big. Perfect! We LOVE our Mr Big (Shot)!!!! ?
You are so funny but I have a confession – I have never watched a Sex in the City….and I have never used a ATM machine…..call me a loser – I need to be educated!
OOOH….. MY…… GOSH…..!!!! We are going to do with you!!!!
I have never seen Sex in the CIty or a complete Voice show but, I sometimes unfortunately, use the ATMs. Now this Facebook stuff has me in a tizzy though!
So fresh and fun! Love the colors you picked….perfect for Spring!
Fresh and FUN…just like YOU! Thanks for popping in!
Perfect spring card. So glad we will see more of this set and now you have me wondering what new set is coming out to go with it!!!! ?
It is a great compliment and it is for a great cause…the Ronald McDonald House! I love the fact that SU does this with a special stamp set in each catalog.
Your card is so pretty and seems so easy to get it together. Mason jars are one of my favorite kinds of vases whether on a card or for the kitchen table. Have a great weekend, Susan.
I just knew that we are like Peanut Butter and Jelly!!!! My peeps say – MOM….why do we have sooooo many Mason Jars….my answer – they are a classic and oh so useful! Just love them…just like this stamps set!
Susan, I love your card. You are so wonderful to give us the step by step directions. I love the colors. They are so pretty.I also am wondering what could be going with this set in the new catalog. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
Hello my friend…..I hope that you will smile with tomorrows card. When you have a great stamp set….anything is possible…..INK +PAPER + STAMP = a great card. You will appreciate the complimentary stamp set!
Just brilliant. I love seeing your process of stamping with this set, too!
BRILLIANT… – YOO my friend are the master…thanks for popping in!
So pretty ! I have this set and love it BUT I have not really used it in all the variety of ways that it offers .
You made this look easy to tackle so again you have inspired me !! Thank you !
DO IT…DO IT…DO IT….It is an easy stamp to play with and I think that we have a tendency to over think it – go for it – it is a rainy weekend!
Simple Susan Succeeds again! I must get the framelits for this set. I bought the stamp set previously. I am sure that will help me use it more for those lovely stems. I hated cutting them out one time and that was the end of that! The jar isn’t hard to cut out but all the flowers and stems are just not worth it. Love that EF and that really makes it fun. I just never remember to use them which is just plain silly. I wish they had the word Ball on there like the jars even though I know there are other manufactures i.e. Kerr, Weeks etc. Another set possibly, well that would be fun and they certainly could just bring back the Halloween version and Christmas version since I couldn’t justify buying them last year.
For tomorrow’s version, maybe a sliver of a black mat or green like the stems? Vellum for the jar? Some jazzy zing to the flowers like the Dazzling Diamonds or Wink of Stella? Maybe a cute bee hovering around the flowers? A doily under the jar or a tablecloth look? Maybe the new colors mixed in there? Who knows but I am sure we will love it!
I hear you and I agree…the jar is easy to cut – but the flowers – ICK! You are knowing me way too well…..you did get “some of it” – I guess you will have to pop back in…..
Bee or firefly, whatever – either worked. Fireflies are skinny bees that light up. They don’t sting you or pollinate flowers but they are lots of fun to watch.
I don’t have a name for my Big Shot but I do have a big list of names for the 4 pigs!
Hi love everything about this card. Looking forward to tomorrow too.
Oh Ramsay, I love ‘Mr. Big”
???
Well I agree…..Mr. Big will stick with us! LOVE IT!
???
I came back to read everybody`s comments . I like your hovering bee idea ,Chris ! It will be fun to see what the step up is ! Also I call my Big Shot …….BIG FOOT !
Night Night !!
I like your simple card, already made not so simple by the use of the embossing folder. I’m with you, don’t think to use them. I ignored this set from the get go since 1-all that stamping and cutting looked like work (yes even with the dies) and 2-I have the much older wood mount jar set that also has a bag and a frog and haven’t used that much. Once I found out that set is where the “throw kindness around like confetti” saying comes from I definitely started thinking about it. And truly, if you get the stamps, you really should get the dies. So they came last week along with my So Saffron ink (which looks so much nicer than its marker implies). I just now took the SS ink out to play with, don’t know that I’ll get to the Jar set soon. It’s slow going with my bum shoulder.
I can’t wait to see how you stepped this card up (no, I didn’t peek).
