Happy Thursday to you….YIKES – is it really Thursday? This week is going way to fast for me! I am excited for today as we have a new Tic Tac Toe Card to play with! I am sooooooo proud of many of you that have been playing with the challenge – it is FUN….right!
Please pop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and see what the other designers came up with! I am just giddy with this challenge as it is super fun to look at the board and then have fun! Todays board was designed by the one and only Jeanie and true to her form and style…..look at the board – it is about A,B,C’s – the teacher in her comes out!
I chose to take the diagonal path this week…Accent – Embossing & In Color. The stamp set that I focused with is Sorry for Everything – a newbie and its a goodie! Years ago Stampin’ Up! had a similar Stamp Set and I think there was a void with its absence but this new updated one is the perfect solution to those kinda tricky cards to send…
The large “Sorry” with that beautiful script font is stunning in itself but when you pair up one of the sub sentiments….you have a keeper!
Here is a great close up for you to see not only the beautiful font but also the stunning detail in the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder. WOW….right? Embossing folders are the best bang for your buck as the instant POP and TEXTURE is done with a simple crank of Mr. Big!
Here is a confession….when we get a new catalog, the embossing folders are a product that go on right away…why??? EASY – they are the icing on the cake when you are trying to have a POP with little effort. Also…they are super affordable and take little space – a win-win all around.
I know that it is super hard to tell in the picture so you will have to trust me on this one – I heat embossed the navy “Sorry” – after stamping it with the Night of Navy I quickly added clear embossing powder and heat set it – when you hold it in your hand and see that shine and then touch it – here comes a smile!
I hope that you all try this with any of our ink – if you are fast….you can get the job accomplished without using versa mark as the powder will stick to the freshly stamped sentiment! The sub-sentiment was stamped in versa mark….heat set with white embossing powder!
To fulfill the accent part of the challenge, the new Glitter Enamel Dots were the super easy choice. Many of you know that I am not a fan of glitter….but these – YEP….I can handle as no mess and a perfect subtle bit of bling!
Now lets chat about the envelope with the card…..I say – one stunning duo! These 2 colors together are stunning and then throw in the white….I rest my case – a total Susan kinda card!
Now you have some fun to take part in…..how about taking another look at the game board this week and then have FUN! It always is amazing at how many ideas there are from a simple Tic Tac Toe Board – this is a fun challenge and I am just so happy that many are joining in with the fun!
I can’t wait to see your project in the gallery….not only will I be smiling seeing your project and your name but I know that you will also have a sense of “I DID IT” when you play with the challenge.
In closing here is a funny…..when I first started making cards and caught the “bug” with Stampin’ Up! I can remember that I thought….I will do a challenge. Well…..it took me weeks and weeks to build up the nerve to try it. I now laugh at that as I just should of followed my guy instinct and just DID IT….but I was a turtle….
Well….once I took the plunge I was sooooooo tickled with myself that I told all of the peeps and hyperlinked it to their emails so they could see. I kept saying…..did you see….did you see – I actually figured out how to do this with no help. They were so proud of me and I was so proud of myself as well….The peeps actually get a kick out of me when I go out of the Mom box and try something different.
I guess you could say that it is a great example of “just trying”….that in itself makes a difference to the most important person in the world….YOU!
Now go take this summer day and make it YOURS!
Precious mix of texture and color! Beautiful stitching!
I just adore these colors together! YUM!
I so so love Lemon Lime Twist, and your card shows it beautifully especially with the pop of using the embossing folder!!! So pretty!!! Ok, I laughed as I read your story as you know I struggled the same way then ran into technical difficulties figuring out how to link my card to the challenge. Well, I finally got there, but now realize the quality of my picture is not good…and I was so pleased with the card…..ha…..I will keep trying to get it right as it is so much fun to connect with others and also work on being original. ? This challenge was a wonderful idea!!
I am glad that I too have cyber friends that have those challenges but YOU DID IT…..I have to ask you…..have you popped back many times to look at your card???? That is one thing that I can remember doing over and over!
I am proud of you….and I hope that you come back again!!! WOOT-WOOT!
Thank you for showing a great picture of that new EF . I love my EFs and the pictures in the catalog are SO HARD TO SEE !! Yours is the first close up of that one that I have seen ! Goes on the July order for sure ! Love that LL Twist ! It is similar to one of the retired colors we had called KIWI ! When I showed the new LLT ribbon to my daughter she thinks it is CHARTRUSE (sp) It is all in the eye of whoever because look how nicely it pairs up with a multitude of colors !!
I really like your card ! TTT is a fun thing !!
I know that you love your folders….I think of you when crankin’ Mr. BIG…..I am just kickin my heels with joy for this color….LOVE IT!
My stamp set arrived yesterday! I am getting bummed out making sympathy cards so I had to ink up a pig stamp which was in the same shipment. He is a bit sunburnt in color but that was ok as he was with the wood grain paper and that made him stand out. I guess I should have turned the light on as we were dancing with thunder storms and tornadoes at that time.
Sorry, back to your card. It is fun though I am still not a fan of the Lemon Lime Twist yet. Maybe in smaller doses. I could see you giving Hannah this card from the weekend or any of your peeps for that matter. I am sorry to see you go for so long and without internet capabilities. I want to know what you are seeing and doing the whole time. I know you have posts lined up but they aren’t quite the same. Plus we have some surprises in store for the weekends which I am looking forward to. That EF is really pretty and so detailed. The envelope is over the top and that touch of THE color is fine!
Now, maybe this week I can really do the challenge card. Talk about turtles – I am one going in reverse! Or, as one of Mike’s students said, “He was idling in neutral!” Maybe I need one of Jeanie’s cards that said I think I can….and I did!
Oh Chris…I am sorry that you are in the need of sympathy cards….sorry! Now about not liking LLT….we need to change that – I just cannot get enough of it!
I would love….LOVE….LOVE to see Chris R from Iowa in the gallery….just do it – you love to create!
Love the colors! I had not even noticed the stamp set. It seems so sad but we need those now and then. And YES, one day I will take the challenge!
With the way you can whip up a clean and simple masterpiece…..I say go for it! This is a great stamp set….right? – I especially love the Birthday and pet sentiment!
Great take on the challenge, Susan! Love the colors, your stitchingand that new EF is outstanding…literally!!Have a nice long weekend and then your trip is coming up soon. I know you are “staging” for it now.
Thanks for the sweet comment….the embossing folder is stunning – the depth of the emboss is over the top!
Yes…one could say that I am super busy trying to get my ducks….well ( dogs, horse and oh yes, a pig) in a row to go for the trip!
Love the colors and how you stepped it up with the EF. I agree with Chris….your envie is so sharp! Hopefully, I will do the challenge….soon.
Please, please do it – do a 3-d….you are the queen!
Wonderful card! And thanks for clarifying what “accent” means. I suspected it was a fancy style word for embellishment but who am I to just to conclusions?!!! (ha!)
Love this stamp set. I have the older one you mentioned but there is something about this set that I need in my life.
And Yes! I’m excited by this challenge. My brain is already in motion with ideas…. although it is slow motion.
Oh Princess….pull out that magic wand and create….POOF!
I’m with Judy…I have the older stamp set but after seeing your card I think I need this one too! Great sentiments in the set for when you need the right words. To all of the above….go for it and take the plunge…come play tic tac toe!! I will confess I never did a challenge prior to being on this challenge design team. I always say, if I can do it…anyone can!!! This is so easy and lots of fun!!!
Well said…hey everyone….listen to Jeanie….it is a ton of fun and it really gets you to play with products you might haven’t used in a while!!!!
I love the embossing in two different colors. It really makes the sentiment pop. It took me a long time to figure out a challenge because the cards shown all looked so different from each other! I still don’t do many but I really like this tic-tac-toe.
