WOOT-WOOT….today is the debut of the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge and it is going to be a FUN game for each of us to play on Thursdays! Please pop over to the website to see what the designers came up with and then I hope you take a good look at the game this week and give it a try!
I would LOVE IT if you would submit your take on the game….it is super easy to upload and if you need help – please email me and I will be happy to help you!
Here’s the Challenge that Team X came up with – don’t you just adore the design work for this new weekly Challenge….this was created by the oh so talented…..best husband/wife dream team (Brian and Nicole WATT) from Integrant Services…..hence the inspiration for todays card!
I admit, I thought that I was super clever by doing all of the squares on the board but I realized as I was typing this up I missed the stripes – SILLY SUSAN….this is sooooo much fun to play and I really feel that doing challenges are a GREAT way to help you develop a style.
I know that sounds crazy but it is true….just look at the guidelines and HAVE FUN! By having a guideline with a challenge…you can just throw everything out the door and just focus on the NOW (which is the fun game board) and just have fun and see what you end up with.
From the moment I say this catalog, I knew that this little quirky stamp…Watts of Occasions would be coming to Randall Lane. I love stamps like this because they are a bit “off the wall” and that means that they will make you smile. Just look at the different cards/projects that you could make with this sweet stamp set!
This big and bold DSP is from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP collection and I think that the name suits it to a tee as it is a lovely collection of yummy prints! Stampin’ Up! does know how to rock it with their papers but remember, they are ALL BEAUTIFUL…but lets USE THEM …not collect them!!! 😀
When you look at this fun card you can see that it is my kinda card….SIMPLE! I used just the basic cardmaking elements and PRESTO a fun card that had me win the game in several ways!
- The circle was from the Stitched Shapes Framelits
- The Vellum was used as the base of the lightbulb and then I heat set it with Gold Embossing Powder
- I used the Black and White Bakers Twine
These fun images on this stamp set are super easy to fussy cut out….best tip is JUST DO IT as once you start to cut…keep those scissors MOVING as I find when you stop and start is when you get little jagged edges….remember – it is a work of art from YOUR heart….please do not stress about perfection!
Today I chose to make my envelope with the Envelope Punch Board as you know me, I love it to be matching but you could have easily put this 4 1/4″ square card in a regular Stampin’ Up! Envelope and saved yourself the time and postage….but remember – this whole thing we do is FUN….so making it is a pleasure!
So….there you go! I thank YOU a WATT for popping onto my blog today! I do hope that you will see the fun takes on the game that the designers came up with and I sure hope that you will play along with the challenge. “PRESENT over PERFECTION” is the name of the crafting game so I personally challenge you to find the time and PLAY!
If you do not already subscribe to my blog….please do so! (look to the right of the sidebar) I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator that loves to stamp, inspire and share my love of paper crafting….fun times….tips and trick – heck basically everything about life! Now go have a FABULOUS DAY!
p.s. – After you subscribe to my blog….hop over to the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Website and subscribe to that as well…this way you will get notifications when there is a new board to play with as well as notifications for the weekly winners….
Susan, what an ingenious card for the Watts. The envelope is perfect too. Love, love, love them both.
🙂
Good Morning my friend…so glad you like it – I just smile when I see this stamp set!!!!
Sweet card Susan. Do I have to go on Facebook to play?
Hi Sharon….I just popped back to my blog as the challenge page did not go up until 8 a.m Eastern….so if you go there now you will see it. I hope that you play…it is a fun challenge! http://tictactoechallenge.com/tttc0001-welcome/
What . . . what a fun challenge! Love your card, watts and watts!
It is a fun challenge!!! I just adore this stamp set….very fun and unique!
Super cute! You did an excellent job with the tic tac toe challenge. Love it!
Thanks my friend…it was super fun and WOW the team did a great job! I am already excited for next Thursday!
Watt a cute card !! This TTT game will be fun to follow !
Say HEY to Milo !
It is fun to follow…but come PLAY!!!! I just love games and next week…..my wheels in my head are already spinning!!!!
I will give your buddy a hug…..he is a good patient!
Watts up? You do have stripes on your card – the base done in the gold! Watt fun this is! My face lit up with a smile when I saw your card and the stamp set. Between this sentiment and the Merry & Bright sentiment this is something I need to own. I passed right past this in the catalog on several occasions. You are brilliant for showcasing this on your card and that fun envelope! Another light bulb moment here – I could use the basic bulb and pair it with the Labeler Alphabet set and make my own fun puns instead of just writing them or using the computer. Now, am I up to trying my first challenge with this TTT game? I certainly have my share of black prints on DSP I can use. I found a new stash of 1/2 sheets of black prints in a tote bag yesterday. I sure must love those a watt!
You are soooo funny – I think that might be stretching it on the stripes but what the heck – sounds great to me!
YOUR LIGHTBULB is on……what a fantastic idea to use the Light Bulb with the labeler set….
Let me know if you need help with the challenge – I am so proud of you – just DO IT!
Ahh, you are so VERY clever Susan! Love your card!!! I need to try the challenge and hopefully it will get my mojo back!
What happened to your mojo?? I think you need a trip to Hagerstown. Tomorrow is my last day of school….more time to play!!!
Ok – you need a trip to Jeanie and I…..together we can get your MOJO back but I know that there is a BUNCH of MOJO in YOU!!!! It’s going to be HOT next week so a perfect time to stay inside……and eat BERGER COOKIES!
What a darling tribute to Brian and Nicole, and so appropriate to thank them! Clean and clever, that’s what I love about your cards my friend! So happy to be with you on this new journey!
Awe Peggy….I am smiling that you are in the house! Thank you! I am super excited about the challenge and we are going to weekly fun together. When I saw this stamp set….how could I not think of the WONDERFUL WATTS!
Love your fun card. The new Tic-Tac-Toe challenge will be fun. Will have to give it a try
YIPPEE….I am thrilled to hear that you are going to play! Trying something fun and different is just the BEST!
Susan, you are a GENIOUS!!! I love your card! This stamp set will be making a trip to my house. Give Milo a squeeze and kiss for me! I tried to post the other day too and it wouldn’t work for me either. Just wanted to say how adorable the picture is of John and the 3 fur babies!!!!!!
I am thrilled that you like the card….I thought that it was fun but really the star of the show is the stamp set….anything comes out great with a great stamp set. I thought that this would be a set that people would breeze right by but I am excited to showcase it in many ways!
Milo loves his fan club….I “get it” because he truly is the sweetest!
This is super cute and clean and simple. I love it! So happy to you have you as part of the Design Team.
Thank you….but the bar is set soooo high – we are blessed to do the simple thing that we love to do!
Susan!!! Your posts are so entertaining! Is this card really coming to us? I’d be honored to receive it! I’m so glad to have you on the TTTC team! HUGS!!
Oh Mrs. WATT….I thank you WATTS and WATTS….daily – and that husband of yours….I am sure that he spouts frustration from me and my computer challenges…but I DO thank you WATTS and WATTS!!!!
What a cute card and fun stamp set you created it with! The sentiment is too cute!
I adore that sentiment and just think if how many cards we can use it for. I invite people to look at stamp sets for the marathon….not just the sprint….it’s a keeper!
Cute card! What fun with the black and the white. I subscribed to the TTT challenge when I first heard about it. I look forward to playing.
YIPPEE….we are going to have a PRINCESS play….I will REALLY have to have my crown shiny! Thanks for popping in and I can’t wait for you to PLAY!
I agree with Nichole-your blogs are quite entertaining, Susan! I laughed so much when I saw the picture of John working on your shares and all the pooches were lined up watching him! Lol! Too Funny! Great card today…loved the humor! Black and white make such a classic card! I just posted a card I made for the tic tac toe challenge. Hope you like it~
YEAH!!!! Many thanks for playing – wasn’t it fun to look at a classic old fashion game to give us inspiration! I agree….when I heard John talking and then went into the dining room – I burst out laughing myself….he was in his glory!
I agree…you just can’t go wrong with black and white!
Watt a cute card, Susan. I love the challenge and will try to make something this week.I’m not usually a “pun” gal, but this was too easy!! lol Have a great week.
I hear you about “puns” but this one is a FUN one! I love the fact that the simple “lightbulb” does the trick for us! Thanks for making a card…I know that you are going to have fun and I am already excited for next Thursday!
I totally forgot that Brian and Nicole’s last name is Watt. Watt a great card for them esp. since they got your blog commenting fixed so fast! They will love the card! You are so brilliant!
Remember a short while back we were discussing what we would take if we had a fire? Well just one of our smoke detectors was squealing FIRE, EVACUATE NOW over and over. Just when I was just pulling card stock, DSP and ink together to make cards! Well, I took a quick check of the house and could not find any smoke or fire and no other alarms were going off. It was in the hallway by the bathroom on the first floor. Luckily Mike had an appt in Pella for PT so he was not still in Des Moines. I called him and he came home right away and could not find anything wrong either. After a quick check and shutting off the A/C, fans and other stuff I took my purse and Ted outside to wait for Mike. So, I didn’t even get my wedding ring let alone my medicine or Mike’s meds. Once home he got the smoke detector down (like 9 ft ceiling at that area) and had to take a hammer to get it to stop shrieking outside. He couldn’t get the battery out! So, all is well for now except we need to get a new smoke detector for that little area. Note to self, if there is ever a next time – get the medications!!!!!
I am happy to hear that it was a false alarm and YES – listen to that NOTE TO YOURSELF….I am sure that Teddy was perky with the noise! Those WATTS…they are daily lightbulbs to me!!!!
Your card really lights up the day!!! What a great card for Brian and Nicole! I bet when you saw that stamp set the lightbulb went on and ideas were just racing! Your card is just perfect! I am so excited to be on this design team with you!
I was super excited for this stamp set and I already can see many cards being made! We are going to have fun with this challenge…I found it so fun to look at a board and create!
I can always count on your post to provide a chuckle (and I’m sure Brian and Nicole chuckled at this too). Love the way you used that particular pattern of DSP. I wasn’t sure about that one but you showcased it perfectly. This challenge is going to be a lot of fun!
Heck…we all have to chuckle or life is not fun! I am sure that I make Nicole and Brian chuckle all the time with my CRAZY and SILLY questions I shoot to them! Soooooo fun to be doing this challenge together!
Susan, you just make me giggle! You are so cute and clever with your cards! What a sweet tribute to Nicole. Can’t wait to see your card for next week!!
Susan, I love your sense of humor a WATT (sorry, had to) ad your card is so creative I have to shake my head. How do you do it day after day? I know, because you love what you do and it shows. Love, love, love your creative card and your sweet heart. Hugs. xx
