Welcome to the June 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month’s theme, Pick a “B”, features projects inspired by Babies, Birthdays and Brides to name few. You may just get a glimpse of new catalog products while you hop with us today.
Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
YIPPEE-SKIPPEE!!! This is one of my most favorite days of the month….a PALS Blog Hop! Now I know that you have a BUNCH of HOPPING to do so there are 2 things that I want to say….
- Thanks for popping in….
- I hope you come back! 😀
Now let’s get going…..
Today, I decided to do a super fun card that uses a technique that we all love….Emboss Resist….are you saying WHAT?????
It is super easy and super fun but the real fun of this project is the below stamp set….now I ask you – did you skim right past it in the catalog???? (it’s kinda in the back of the stamps….page 161) but let me inspire you as it is a FUN STAMP!
There were 2 things that I did for todays card…
- I sponged a piece of Thick Whisper White with Rich Razzleberry and a wee bit of Berry Burst.
- I stamped the flower image with Versa Mark and then Heat Set it with White Embossing Powder.
Hence….emboss resist!
The other “must have…no questions asked” product that we all need is the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder….isn’t is B E A U T I F U L ??? I am over the moon with it….
This is the 1st that I have blogged about it but I ask you….look above at the envelope flap and see the texture – how fast and easy!
Here comes another NEWBIE….the Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon….how about the new ribbons in this wonderful new catalog….are they the BEST or what….
I admit, I am usually not a fan of ombre things….but this ribbon is so subtle in the variation of colors that it is a BLUE RIBBON winner in my eyes….(heck, truth be told….I LOVE any of the new products in the Lemon Lime Twist…..just sayin’)
This ribbon is a dream machine to make a bow…if you can tie your shoe – than you can make a great bow with this ribbon
Here is the picture to smile about….it all pulled together! Can you see that taking basic elements and basic techniques can make you go “out of that catalog box” a wee bit and have a FUN and different card!
This truly is soooo simple….basic shapes….fun blending the ink….fun embossing…fun stampin….fun making a simple banner – just ONE FUN CARD!
I know that you have a BUNCH OF HOPPING…..so I say – HOP AWAY but thank you for popping in…..how do you like this card???…we all have many “B’s” throughout the year and I think that you can easily see that the colors that you can use are endless….(heck – try this with several colors on the same card with the blending….)

Love this card, Susan, with its bright colors, heat embossing, ombre ribbon and the EF on the envelope. So pretty.I had missed that stamp set, but I can see how versatile it can be. Enjoy your day!
I had a hunch that may might have missed this stamp set….it is a sweet one with so much potential! Thanks for popping in, again!
This is a bright and cheery card. Loved the embossed technique and the envelope is awesome! Keep smile’n!
That’s me….bright and cheery….(well I hope so!!!!)
Love the embossing and Lemon Lime everything! It is my favorite! Great card!
I agree Jackie, Lemon Limeade makes EVERYTHING better! A cardmakers best medicine!
“B” is for bed! I am going to return there shortly. This is a strange day. We have not had rain for like 17 days give or take. They brought the roofing materials on Monday with the start to be today. We woke up at 5:00 to a small thunder storm with more lightening than rain! OK it finally quit and started clearing off. Oh no, now we are to get maybe another one this morning but it MIGHT miss us with one later tonight. I am doing whatever and I hear a big crack – a big tree branch out front over the sidewalk cracked but not totally off the tree. It is hanging over the sidewalk and this is a good leafy branch! As I look out my previous boss and wife were riding their bikes on the sidewalk. I dare that limb to have broken off and knocked him off his bike and I dare he try to sue me. Why in the world isn’t he at work harassing people like he used to do to me? Of course Mike went to work so now I have to decide if I can try and pull it down or better yet – just leave it and let Mike deal with it. I think bed is looking pretty good right now.
So, your card was a “B” for “Breath of Spring” which your card is. I love the envelope and that EF is so fun and I think I will put it on one of my lists to eventually get. I actually had noticed the stamp set and thought, whatever. But, here it is fun with the fun new colors to boot! Just a bright and happy card. Loving that bit of a tilt to the panels! I think I will hop along later to see all the fun stuff. It just might perk me up and we can’t have that!
“B: should have been for BED for you! I hope that you are rested up! There are so many fun and fabulous cards in the hop – I am glad that my bright one perked you up!
What a work of art! I ADORE the embossed envelope flap. The perfect touch, Susan!
You know me…I love my envelope love!
You really got my attention today with this fun, cheery card!!! Love the techniques used and the envelope is sure to make the recipient and the postman smile!!!! Ok, off to hop!! Have a wonderful day. ?
I am so glad that I got your attention….it is so fun and easy to do! I think that we all have stamps that need to be re-purposed for special techniques….this emboss resist is not only fun – it creates a simple WOW!
Bright and beautiful card! Love the technique and envelope!!
Look who is the technique queen…..YOU!
Hi Susan! I too, love the bright, happy colors you used today as well as the layout, and envelope. Such a cheerful & fun card.
Awe Kathy….you are always such a great cheerleader! I just wanted to have FUN with a different color scheme and I was happy with the result – it was a turn up the music kinda card and JUST HAVE FUN!
Love this color combo Susan! The emboss resist is striking. Every bit of your card and envelope is gorgeous and so well coordinated, as usual! 🙂
When Peggy is in the house…life is great! Can’t beat a good old emboss resist!
Great resist card and colors!
Thanks Windy…..I think we are having your weather….HOT!
Susan, everything you make looks like so much fun!!! This is truly a color duo that works 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Everything any of us make is FUN….that’s the name of the game – LET’S HAVE FUN!!! I think that it is SUPER FUN that as adults we still retreat to having FUN!
How in the world did I miss this stamp set. You’ve showcased it perfectly! So cute. Thanks for sharing your CAS talent Susan.
I thought that there might be some out there that breezed right past it…..give it another look as it’s a keeper!
I love your choice of colors and the card design, too. I am not a fan of ombré either, but love it on this card! I missed this stamp set when making my selections. Guess I will need to start another order!
I like the way you think! Many times I am just to “structured” to my style and I think that this is where I run into a road block with ombre….but I am being open minded but the ribbon – HOMERUN….it’s a dream!
Delightful card! The coordinating envelope is fabulous!
Hey Su…you made me smile! That Embossing Folder is pretty amazing….right?????
I absolutely love everything about this card Susan! The colors, images, layout, techniques. Just awesome!
