Here you go…it is time for our 2 day weekend post! If you are new to my blog, welcome …..but let me fill you in about the weekend posts! On Saturday’s I share a project that is rather simple and then tomorrow….please POP back and see how I stepped it up.
Todays card showcases the NEW Photopolymer Bundle, Beautiful Bouquet. It is just that – BEAUTIFUL! I know, I know what many of you are thinking….another floral stamp…..yep – you are right but I invite you to look at it a bit deeper!
Do you SEE all of the Framelits? This is the answer to many of your “fussy cutting wishes” – This stamp set is chocked full of amazing stamps in a variety of sizes but to have the matching framelits – YES….we are all doing the happy dance….
Before we get to pictures…I hope that you can see the endless options you will have with this bundle. I adore an offering when it has part of the framelits that are perfect “fillers” that do not require stamping (like the below pear pizzazz leaves) – these are PERFECT to tuck in here and there and also great to cut many of and put them in a baggie for a rainy day!
There are just a ca-zillion ways to have fun with this bundle and the sentiments…..another keeper. Here is a great idea for you – when you see a new bundle go ahead and do a search for it in Pinterest…..or Split Coast Stampers – these are great sources for additional ideas but I think that you see the potential!
I have been really getting to know the new DSP’s with all of the cutting I have been doing! How about this FUN and bold stripe….how can you not love a great paper like this – Happy dance – HOMERUN!!!!
When I sit down (actually I like to stand) to create – I often let the liner for my envelope to tell me how to create a card! YEP, that is how the color scheme happened….I just looked at the colors that coordinated and BAM…stamp away!
I haven’t “scored” for a while and I think that it adds a fun interest to a card. I honestly like to use the simply scored when doing this rather than the trimmer….just a personal preference as I feel I can get a “deeper impression” with the score lines. Doesn’t it just give a fun element and texture?
Pool Party is such a FUN and UPLIFTING color to work with. Do you remember earlier in the week we were chatting about having fun with different colors? Well…Pool Party is one that looks fantastic with neutrals but then add another POP of a bold color and the WOW happens in a jif!
I can honestly say that Stampin’ Up! Cardstock is the best…..and here is a reminder for those of you that are just getting started with this Stampin’ fun that we do……you can purchase the color collections in “bundled offerings” getting just 2 sheets of each color of paper offered for just $8.00 a collection…..(Please see the lineup of products at the end of the post) This really is a great way to get our paper!
I hope that you have a great weekend and I hope that you pop back in tomorrow to see the changes I did to step it up a wee bit…either way…today’s card or tomorrows….you will be happy as this bundle is a “keeper” and the sky is truly the limit!
Is anyone doing anything fun today? Today is the Belmont Stakes Horse Race…..no Triple Crown winner this year but it still is wonderful to see these magnificent horses run and watching them on TV!
This card is fresh and full of happiness! The score lines look great and add just enough depth. Never thought to get the DSP for the envie first and then decide card color choices….great idea. The hubs will be watching the race today but I am off to a SU open house fun-filled afternoon. ?
SCORE!! I love my scoring tool and use it constantly but rarely as an element on a card. Every time I see one of yours I say, I have to do that more. Gorgeous card. Looking forward to stepped up version. Hubbys bd today and a family grad party. Lots of fun and happiness on a beautiful day here in NJ
You also had a FUN weekend…there is nothing like having family and funs together to celebrate wonderful milestones! I bet there were some amazing cards made by you for the special loved ones in your life!
Well you had a super fun Saturday! I love to do the scored lines as it is so fast and gives a great umph!
Hi Susan, Oh, I love this card. The colors are fantastic. I can’t imagine how you would step it up. Hmmm . . . maybe some thread? I have a very, very quiet day today. The family is all working and their schedules go all the way to 10:30 p.m. I know it sounds good, but not all the time. I do have the grand-pup at least. I have many PP kits and SI and JS kits to put together. I hope I get to a couple of them at least. 🙂
Also, I was wondering why I have to type in my name and email every time I want to comment now. This has been a few days. This used to be automatic. Anyone else have this happening?
🙂
Nancy, yep have to fill in the name, email and website boxes every time now. Hey, but at least it publishes the comment unlike the other day.
Sorry guys….you know me and computers as I am not sure why it is doing this but I am just glad that you are IN THE HOUSE!
Yes, I’m having to type in name, etc again. If you figure it out, let me know!
Susan….I will email the wonderful WATTS….and see if they have an idea!
Hello my New York friend….I hope that your Saturday was a great “me day” for you and that you were able to get LOTS accomplished!
I am sure that the grand-pup was a trusty friend and great stampin’ buddy!
I do like pool party! I bought the ink recently and since I have the sampler packs I have a few pieces of CS too. I like this set and it caught my eye but I’m afraid it is going to be another one of those too-much-work-to-use ones. I’m finding I don’t have patience or time for those million piece stamp sets. I have so little time to craft as is (and don’t say get off the computer and craft, I’m eating breakfast right now).
I am glad that you like Pool Party but I am sure you will BUST OUT LAUGHING when you see the SILLY SUSAN thing I did for the stepped up version…..you have a GREAT point about the little pieces…..there are a bunch but I do love the fact that they are framelits to match….I often pound out a bunch when I am trying to use up scraps….
Pretty ! I think I will pass on the stamps/dies though . I have Eleventy Dozen sets of flowers (some have not been used !!!)
Your card is a color treat for the eyes . Such pretty soft blends of colors !! Yay for dsp to give us inspiration !!
I will chime in w/ the others in regard to having to type all my info in now !!
Looking forward to the Step Up tomorrow !! I have to go now to type all that required stuff in!!
You are sooooo funny…..go use up those pretty florals that you have. I say woot-woot to you for know your limits – if you have them…USE them…if you do not use them…SELL THEM! (sounds simple…right?)
I am a fan of your scoring on the card fronts–such a simple but elegant touch. I think I have many too many floral dies to be tempted by this particular one, but I’ve pinned your card as a formula to apply the stamps I do own to the same design. Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s version.
I am sooooo happy and proud of all of you and the comments about already having great florals…you know that I am a big fan of using what you have and what works for your needs!
I say…..hold off to get something else that is totally different!
I’m one of the ones who says I have enough flower stamps and dies–but everytime I see this set, I think, well maybe one more. I love the scoring and little flowers around that sweet sentiment. can’t wait to see tomorrow’s card!
Have you gone to pinterest to see the ideas that are there….it is a great set!
Pretty card. Maybe step it up with a mat, flower centers like maybe a candy dot, and/or a bakers twine bow. I don’t know just guessing.
Though it is a pretty card with all those pretty colors, I am a little sad – I am making some fun and happy cards and now the last remaining piece screwed them all up. I used the biggest stitched circle die and I thought I had a punch or something that was a smidge bigger for a mat. Nope….I used a glass and traced a circle and cut it out but it looks so sad. My neighbor is on vacation and she probably has those layering circles. I hate it when I think I wouldn’t ever need these and now I do. I guess the cards will just have to wait and maybe I will put in an order tonight or tomorrow for them. Why does it seem I have all these little problems pop up. I hate to even begin to think about the Tic Tac Toe challenge and how I could muck it up!
When I first started stamping I was so excited to find this plastic sheet with all these ovals in it (a stencil, but didn’t know the name back then). I would trace them and cut them out and use them like there was no tomorrow. I was THE BOMB. That was in the days before shaped punches and dies. I can’t imagine how pathetic they would look today. We get so spoiled.
Would sponging the edges of your traced circle help it any?
I refused to pitch them so I now have stitched circles in that color already cut though smaller for another project! I decided to just start over and use the pieces on other cards. I decided to make some lemonade with those lemons! Maybe I will try the challenge again. I am always a glutton for punishment it seems!
Oh Chris…..don’t be so hard on yourself….anything that each of us does is a one of a kid, work of art! I am sure that it was a great card….
What a stunning card! Love the blue and sweet envelope flap (your signature)!
It is so easy to create when we have such a great bundle…..
Susan, This card is so sweet. I love it. You are so amazing.
I do not think it need anything. Great Day, Ellen Hinds
You are always the sweetest…..be careful with this heat!
I just want to say (because sometimes you can’t shut me up) that one thing going for this set that others don’t have–mentioning this because of how many said they don’t need another flower set–is the bouquet of stems! I’m not aware of any other set like that. I have to say that is what attracted me to it. I might even get it but then I’ll have to ask for vacation days to play with it.
Also, my friend’s daughter once came in all smiling, “Look!” she said as she held out a bouquet of nothing but stems. “My boyfriend gave me a dozen long stems!”
I told her that guy with his sense of humor was a keeper. Indeed, she married him and they have 2 kids now.
You are too funny…..there are elements of the Branches ???? (I can’t remember the name) – it was a limited edition bundle last year that reminded me of some of the framelits…..there truly are a bunch of fun and different elements…..go find some time to play!
Love this pretty card, Susan. This set is going on my “want” list. Yes, I agree with others, who are having problems with our names and emails automatically popping in, when we want to post a comment. It has been happening to me for several days as well. It’s not difficult to type them again, but automatic is much easier!! lol! Now I’m going to find today’s blog, so I can see how you have stepped up this beauty.
I love it that as adults we have “want lists” – I am going to try to see if I can have the typing thing fixed or at least find a ‘why it happened” answer for you all!
I don`t know if it is me ,but I thought this was Sunday Step Up Day !!!!!??????
You are sooooo right….there was to be a Sunday one…..but I have been a busy bee….I had it made – just not typed! It is up now and I think that you will smile!
