Happy Tuesday to you! By now you know that I adore….actually LOVE my envelopes and today I have a tip for you. I was making the card for Thursdays post and thought….I LOVE this envelope – I need to share!
I know that many of you are on the Envelope Love Train with me and today I can inspire you to have fun with just a 1 1/2″ strip of a DSP and turn your envelope into a Picasso….that will make 3 people smile….
- YOU
- THE MAILMAN
- THE RECIPIENT
Here you go….this is super fast and easy to do! I have blogged over and over about the BASICS….and by making sure that you have the BASICS….you will never go wrong!
The above pictures will share with you the necessities to make a fun envelope….in a flash! Let’s dive in…..
I like to anchor the strips with Tear and Tape….I find that using this adhesive make the thinner strips lay nice and flat and then you can just use the “green glue” to hold the DSP in place!
The Night of Navy is 1/2″ wide and the Lemon Lime Twist is 1/4″…..the DSP is 1 1/2″ wide.
All you need to do is give it a good and firm rub…..flip it over and cut the excess away….POOF – you are now smiling!
Not so FAST…..can you see in the below picture….that I “stitched in white” – well…I love that look and it is something that I do often….I encourage you to try to add a little touch to your projects…..just try and I think that you will be surprised at the difference.
Now that I have your attention I guess that you are going to have to pop back on Thursday to see the card?!?!? You can already tell that it is a keeper as it is in the 2 classic colors….Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy!!!!
I think that you will like it….it is a card right up by SIMPLE ALLEY!
I hope that you will try this envelope love….it does make a difference and I know that you will be doing the dance…the HAPPY DANCE when you give it a try….
Tomorrow is HUMP DAY….hope to see you! 😀
I love ❤️ to decorate my envelope flap … and use your tear & tape technique for the cardstock! I love you did the stitching on the Night of Navy strip!
Thanks so much, Susan!
Once you get into the habit of using the tear & tape on the top part of the envelope…it becomes a habit! So glad to hear that envelope love is in Florida as well!
… morn’ … I love to decorate my envelopes too! Susan, you got me in the habit early on!
🙂
Same in New York…your cards always make the mailman happy!
I think you just “stepped up” the envelope!! Have not noticed 2 strips plus the dsp before….AND stitching 🙂 Have a wonderful day!
I guess you are right…I admit, I miss my envelope liner framelit….I still have it and need to give that some love – I bet it is missing me!
Well, usually I only see one strip plus the dsp and no added stitching 🙂 I think the dsp on the flap is more fun for all. I admit, I don’t understand using pretty dsp on the inside for a liner. We all have our favorites tho that make our heart smile!
Thanks for the great tip-and detailed directions. I try to remember to never send a naked envelope.
Yep, they like to be dressed…..being naked is boring!!!! Have a great day!
YES ! Every time I see an envelope w/ a CS strip I think of SUSAN !! I agree w/ my friend Susie Cullen about the tear tape !
It makes a big difference with the strips of CS !! Plus I have found a new use for those left over CS strips !!
Now I think I will try your two CS strip version !! FUN !!
We use our scraps to the end! I like to keep a container for the long strips for envelopes by my work area – that way I can grab and go in a jif!!!
Great tips for making a fun envelope easy. I need to do it more often. It seems I run out of time and the mail carrier is coming soon. Anyone else have that problem? Love these tips and your beautiful envelopes today. Can’t wait until Thursday to see the card. Enjoy your day!
I will say…once you get into the habit – it is just that….a habit! I will say that I rarely mail anything from my little mailbox…I think that I go to the local teeny-weenie Post Office more….(Milo likes to go with me)
Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy–what a spectacular combination. You’ve taught me well and I decorate all my A2 envelopes in this fashion now–well, not this stepped up two-strip faux stitched version but the one-strip version. I still use a lot of A6 envelopes though and they get love with washi tape and/or stickers.
I agree…LOVE these colors together! What is the size of an A6….am I missing something FUN…like YOU!
Great tip and love the little stitches, Susan!
You know me….I love my envies!
Boy, now we are stepping it up with two strips plus the beloved dots and dashes. How in the world am I ever to keep up? Plus the occasional embossed envelope flap is good too.
Congrats on your latest achievement!!!
So true so true…..embossing and adding a coordinating strip is another winner-winner…chicken dinner!
Sometimes I feel that they get boring for you guys but I will say – when I make a card…there is always a pretty envelope!
Love the color combo…so rich! A dressed up envie is always a sure hit. Congrats on Alaska trip!
Now you are one that would totally know….as I think your hubby works for the USPS – does he like and or even notice a fun envelope?????
