Woot-woot….it is time for Simple Saturday! Wow….I was thinking back….and it has been I while since I designed for a weekend post because of the amazing talent of my team during the month of July! They did a fantastic job – setting the bar high so…..I hope that I can inspire you!
For those of you that are new to my blog, first – welcome and let me explain what I do on the weekends. Saturdays post is called “Simple Saturday” where I share with you a simple card….and then I welcome you back tomorrow for “Step it up Sunday”, where I try to tweak it a bit to share and show you how you can make some simple changes….stepping it up a bit!
Here is a “smile card” for you….what???? I ask you – DID YOU SMILE when you saw it? I bet you did because I think just about anyone would love to receive a sweet card like this!
Naturally the color combinations you could do with this are endless….today’s palette of Tranquil Tide, Calypso Coral and So Saffron are the trio of choice and the “greenery”….good old Pear Pizzazz!
I blogged the other day using the framelits from this bundle, Lovely Inside & Out and just as I said the other day, this is one unique set of framelits….you can simply cut out the word (like I did on Thursday) or you can do like I did today, use the coordinating framelit to cut the entire shape out (like I did here using the Layering Ovals Framelits)
Below you will see a trick that I did to make this super fast to do! Whip out that good old pencil and trace the oval as a guidelines as to where you would like to stamp! Now you can see that it is super fast to stamp!
The floral fun is from the Beautiful Bouquet bundle below. I know that Stampin’ Up! has a bunch of floral offerings but this one has the “floral shop and sentiments” to the max…all in one! The unique element about this bundle are the actually amount of “die cut pieces” that truly give you that layered and “hand-picked” feel of a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
We all seem to like the look and feel of “layers” on a card, especially with the bases on a card….but once you add layers of the actual stamped element….there is an instant POP that happens and the smile gets even bigger!
Another reason why I am a fan of this type of a stamp set/bundle is simple…I love to be able to tuck here and there! When you have small images that “just work” as a filler, it makes creating more fun and interesting! Also, small images are great boo-boo fixers like I have done today!
The envelope love came from the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP offering…this paper offering is full with fun and busy to clean and classic! Today, the simplicity of the black and white with the pop of the colors that I used in the card just seemed to work!
There you go….a card that can go for just about anyone! It is clean, classic and the color ideas are endless. I say….pick 3 colors that you want to play with….add a green tone and just have FUN! Another thing that would be beautiful to do is…use (3) shades of yellows for the flowers to have a fun monochromatic look!
Have a great day….and I hope to see you back here tomorrow to see how I have “stepped it up” Please remember that I offer a very generous Rewards Program for shopping with me. I know that I love to earn FREE STAMP SETS and I know that you are no different.
Now go make someone smile today…..I hope to!
You’re right! This sweet, fresh card did make me smile. Love the little pearls and all of your 3 dots which are perfectly placed. This card is so perfect as it is, I can’t imagine what you will do tomorrow to step it up.
Thanks Robyn! SOOOOO glad that you liked it but really…it is the amazing die that makes any card a blue ribbon winner!
Such a sweet card with great colors! Very bright &a fresh!
YIPPEE….another Stampin’ Sister is int he house! You could make this card and just “pass it around” I am sure that you would come up with some super FUN color combinations!
I love your card and envelope ! And I can’t imagine how you can make it any better – I think it is perfect just the way it is – maybe an embossing folder ?
Thank you for inspiring me by using the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle – I was on the fence about that bundle but now I want it !
HOP OFF THAT FENCE as this bundle has all of the little “ins and outs” that the other floral bundles do not have and the SENTIMENTS….YIPPEE – they are worth jumping back over that fence for!
Love this card! I have this set and cannot wait to CASE your card. TFS
CASE away and have FUN!!!! It’s a keeper and one that is a great one to have extras of on hand! I love to have extras….just in case!
Sweet, clean and classic….a very happy card indeed! Change the colors and you have the card for every season. Stepping up will be hard…perhaps twine. Can’t wait until tomorrow. Have a happy day!
DARN…..I already posted the Stepped Up one…and you are soooooo right – linen thread would have been perfect…..just pretend you see it!
Oh my ! Love this one because of the cute details and additions . I felt my interest surge when I read your idea of three different shades of yellows !! Great for the beginning of the FALL season.
There is so much going on with this cute card that I can`t imagine what`s next for tomorrow`s STEP UP !
I am going to try it – with 2 shades of the same color – I think that there is something sooooooo fun about a monochromatic card! I am with you about FALL, it IS the best time of the year!
Hi All . . .
Oh, this bundle is #1 on my wish list. Susan, you really make this look so easy. I love how you stamped the flowers before popping them up, love that look. Maybe tomorrow’s card will have some Wink of Stella or some twine or a center flower embellishment???
Do you think you would do a SOTM with this bundle?
Have a great Saturday.
🙂
Nancy…I orinially only liked the words in this bundle and wasn’t so sure abt the stamps but the stamps are super cute too. Wish I could attach a photo of a 3×3 card. Hmmm SOTM with this one wiuld be fun!
After re-reading your post, maybe you were meaning the Bouquet bundle as being #1. That is on my list too and would also be a good SOTM set. Also lots of good sentiments.
Hmmmmmm….now you have my “pea brain” humming along – perhaps a kit would be a fun idea! Thanks for the seed!
I just made a card using this bundle yesterday so I had a big smile when I opened your post today!!! I love your card! I realize I definitely don’t plan my cards out in the way you did today, I “picture” it or “play” with the pieces until I am pleased with it. Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s card too!
Hi Ann….glad to hear that you “got inky” – I am sure that YOUR BEAUTY is one to strut…..it is a great bundle!
Oh my goodness, Susan. This is absolutely breathtaking. Clean and classy!
Oh MY goodness..when you have a great mentor to follow and learn from – stampin’ is super easy!
I love it. And you can never have too many flowers. Susan, what type of pen do you use for your dots? I find a sharpie looks too heavy and a ballpoint just doesn’t really do it for me. Thanks
I just use the Stampin’ Up! Black Marker with the fine tip end…..just a quick tap-tap-tap and it’s done!
This is yet another card by you that should be featured by SU in the catalog! Perfection. Can’t wait to see the stepped-up version, too.
Now THIS DID make me laugh as if you see in the post for Sunday – I was contemplating not sharing it on my blog as I thought it was ????
Love the colors, love the design and love the tip on how to easily get the flowers placed behind the oval where you want them. Can’t wait to see how you step it up tomorrow. Enjoy your day!
That is the beauty and the magic of Photopolymer! I just love being about to “see through” and stamp!
Is this sweet or what? I seldom use the word darling but that fits here as both the card and the envelope are both just darling! Love the colors and just everything about it. You don’t have to even try to step this up as it is great as it is! Thanks for the tips with the oval as it really makes sense but I would not thought to do it that way probably.
I am smiling! Darling and Susan don’t seem to go together but I’ll take it any day…especially when it comes from YOU!!!!
Love the tip abt tracing the oval before stamping. This layout is def a keeper with the oval sentiments. Might try with the Petite Petals until I get the Bouquet set.
There is just something that you just have to love about pencil lines – especially when you erase them and no one would even know!!!! YES, YES – this would work great with the Petite Petals! Please play and have fun!
I like how this came out. I don’t think it needs to be stepped up but know you’ll find some way to do it and make it special. I wish I had your eye for that. Or your brain. I think I ordered that bundle the other day (the words) but maybe I didn’t. I thought I ordered the Seasons Chums (charms?) bundle but noticed later it was just the stamps. Sort of an oversight on my part. Those aren’t really fussy-cuttable.
You make me smile – You are the “queen” of getting it done!
I have to tell you….I have a bunch of “rubber ducky’s” from staying at Hampton Inns (I think that’s the hotel that leaves them in the room) and I am waiting for a BIG RAIN to have fun in my truck – I bust out laughing with that post on your blog! PRICELESS!!!! (you should share the link with everyone)
