I hope you are lucky enough to have an "Aunt Jean"! She is a one-of-a-kind person and definitely someone that I look up to, adore and totally admire!!! Today is her 86th birthday and if you were to see her and try to keep up with her, you would think she is 60!
Her wonderful husband, Uncle Ernie, passed away probably 7 years ago and she picked up the inner "spunk" she has and has continued to enjoy life and embraces everything that comes her way!
I feel super lucky that my 23 year old son lives in her town and tonight, he is taking his Great Aunt Jean out for dinner! Too darn sweet but the best thing is….they will have a blast together as she is so interesting, "with it", has a smart phone….uses a computer…nothing stops her from learning!
Here is the sweet card I made for her! Anyone would love to receive this card….appropriate for any age – it is just one of those cards that it a simple "keeper"
The card size is from the Note Cards and Envelopes! This is such a sweet size and the perfect size to let someone know you are thinking of them! Remember, there are 20 cards and 20 envelopes for just $5.95 – that is less than 30 cents a piece for both!
The Cupcake Punch is the star of the card! Just let your imagination go with the color scheme you want to do! This is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper and I wanted to focus on the Pear Pizzazz color and the Chocolate Chip!

To create the "sprinkles" on the cupcake I simply used the Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen…a bargain at $3.95 and the sweet little flower came from the Owl Punch (I use this little sweet heart all the time!!!)
Isn't this sentiment cute!?!? It came from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set….remember, these are a limited edition in honor of Stampin' Ups! 25th anniversary…this is a keeper!!! I simply used the marker on the paint brush end to color just the sentiment part and then used old faithful, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get my placement perfect!

Before adhering the Pear Pizzazz layer on the Chocolate Chip, I took a piece of the White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon and did a quick "Susan knot" to add some bling! Out of all of our ribbons, this one would be the easiest one to make a bow with…it is a dream to work with and I wish it can out in all colors!!!
After lining the outside of the envelope with the designer series paper, I felt the mailman needed to smile so I stamped the "celebrate" across the bottom of the envelope! So easy…..just make a faint pencil line in the middle…..Stamp-A-Ma-Jig…..stamp….DONE!!!
Who's your cupcake? To me, cupcakes are like balloons and polka dots…they make me smile! I remember when I was a little girl I loved when my Mom made cupcakes…WOW – what a treat that was and now…Cupcakes are the rage!!!
It doesn't get any simpler than this and it doesn't get any cuter either! Pull out your supplies and whip some of these gems up….just in case you need a quick card! It is a great way to use up scraps as well!
If you do not have these supplies….I can help you – click here and BAM…you can order away and they will come to your door and then you will smile and get nothing else done that day because you will be creating "Arts from YOUR heart!!!!"
Thanks for popping by and until tomorrow!!!!

The cupcake punch is one of my favorites! I have some tiny brads (bought on clearance at a craft store) which make fantastic sprinkles on the frosting. I like your white sprinkles on the chocolate, though. Classy!
I hope your aunt and your son have a fun dinner!
Thank you for sharing!
What’s not there to love about cupcakes! What a cute card! Happy Birthday Aunt Jean!!
Happy Birthday to you Aunt Jean! She sounds like my Aunt Anna – that woman was like the Energizer Bunny – kept going and going and going! God bless her!
I love the idea of making sprinkles with the Gel Pen or even now, the new Chalk Pen! So simple, why didn’t I think of that! LOL
Awwww….I love cupcakes. My Mom used to make them for us all the time. My Husband would always plow my Mom out in Winter after my Dad passed and my Mom would sometimes bring him out a box of cupcakes. Well, she hadn’t given him any cupcakes in a while, so he took a sign with him the next time he plowed that said; “Will work for cupcakes!” OMGoodness…my Mom laughed soooo hard and we all had tears in our eyes. Darling card. I sure love all those little dots and they are fun to do. =) I guess you can say the my Husband is my cupcake now. Thanks for sharing and for the memory! Brought a BIG smile!!!
I gotta say it since you are expecting me to say it, “Yummy!” I bet it is a pistachio cupcake with chocolate frosting! The green looks more like the new color than a lime. I love Lynn’s story about her husband working for cupcakes! My favorite as a kid was a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting. Boy, that does sounds pretty good right now. Lets see, an occasion, about a couple days before Labor Day weekend? Don’t you think that deserves a cupcake? I could make the card for a friend since I would have to mail it and the cupcake would melt in this heat. Otherwise, people with kids could use back to school for the reason….heck, who am I kidding, who needs a reason for a good old fashion cupcake! I will quit babbling now, I think the heat is getting to me!
Ok so now I am craving a cupcake! I will have to settle for CASEing your card. LOL Love your choice of color scheme!
Such a darling card, Susan. Love, love, love it! I’m sure your “one-of-a-kind” spunky Aunt Jean will love it. Too bad you can’t enjoy her celebration with your son.
Hey, sorry I’m getting late to this party. Hope Aunt Jean’s birthday was great, as I am sure it was. Card is so cute. Looks good enough to eat. Ha. Ha. I like the colors and the wider white border on the card. Thanks a bunch. 🙂
Love your card, and I hope Aunt Jean had a wonderful birthday!
