(I know that there is not too much special about this card…I am high lighting the NEW paper colors and giving you the scoop on how you can win Blog Candy from me!)
I have not forgotten about you and my promise this week. In honor of my 2nd anniversary with Stampin' Up! I wanted to give back to YOU as you give so much to me and I truly appreciate your support, comments and suggestions you give to me!
We we all know that this is an exciting time with the new catalog and a big woot-woot to my customers as your catalogs are going in the mail this morning…you are going to love it – get ready to have some "me time" to take it all in..I am still taking it in and my list is getting longer and longer…
Before we get to the blog candy I wanted to touch base about the new In Colors. For those of you that are newer to Stampin' Up!, every year Stampin' Up! unveils 5 new colors to add to the collection of papers we have! I think this year they are super rich and luscious!
I know that some of you are sad to see some old favorites leave but have no fear…New colors are here! Remember if you are wanting some of the products that are going "bye-bye" – the retired list is a 1st come basis and many things are already sold out! (I am shocked that so many are already sold out…good thing I am offering some of the retired In Color paper in my Blog Candy)
Click here for the retiring stamp sets.
Click here for the retiring accessories.
You have heard me say this sooooo many times, but being a part of Mary Fish's team is simply the best. The networking, the support, the sheer "goodness" that comes form the PALS are overwhelming!
The below color chart is just an example of how amazing the talent and generosity of the PALS is. This chart was made by Nicole Watt, I have blogged about Nicole before as she is a My Digital Studio Gu-ru and a super sweet and talented person.
Please look at the below chart and you will see all of our yummy colors and also how the NEW In Colors blend with current colors we offer!

The 5 new colors this year are:
- Hello Honey – Yellow always brings sunshine to any card!
- Lost Lagoon – My favorite….it is so rich and soothing!
- Tangelo Twist – Love the boldness of this….will be perfect in the fall but also super with brights!
- Mossy Meadow – Can you say…love…love…LOVE – this is my 2nd favorite…beautiful.
- Blackberry Bliss – Very rich and sophisticated…this will look elegant with very vanilla.
Even though this card is rather boring, I hope that you take notice in how this layout of squares is super cute! I used the 1" square punch and then using the new Stamp Set, Work of Art, I was able to show you a "swish" of each color.
One thing I often get asked is how do I keep things so crisp? Easy – the Stampin Trimmer is the BEST and the best tip I can give you is always keep replacement blades ready…once the blade gets "dull" – you will instantly loose that crispness.
Another thing that I always thinks make a big difference in the "crispness" of your cards is simple…using Stampin' Dimensionals.Don't "skimp" on these…they are a bargain and who likes a "saggy card"?
The liner from this card is from the New Paper Stack, Moonlight. Becasue of this odd size card…I was able to make a custom envelope with the envelope Punch Board.
Now to what you REALLY WANT…..the chance to win the Blog Candy….I think I have some great candy to give to you! You will see the below (3) pictures will show you what you what you will win…
Are you excited? How can you win…easy -peasy! We know what this weekend is…It is Mother's Day…you will have (3) chances to win if you leave me a comment each day (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) and the comments will end at 9 p.m. Sunday evening (Eastern Time) and in Monday morning I will announce the lucky winner!
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
Simply leave me a comment of a memory…a funny story…a favorite recipe/food….just anything that will take you down "Memory Lane"…I adore going down this lane…fun – FUN memories!
I lost my beautiful and wonderful Mom 3 years ago to Cancer. She was simply the best. I can only hope and pray that I will be as good of a Grandmother as she was to my beautiful children. They loved their G-Gi! She was so fun, loving and always did for others…we had many, many laughs and wonderful times together!
So…here you go – let's stroll down that lane and I will add up all of the comments and emails I receive and then I will let Random.org pick the lucky winner.
Pop back tomorrow….I have something for you to smile about!

Good morning Susan! I love your style – super CAS yet original. Now you’re probably windering why I am up so early. Well, because my daughter is on her way to Vietnam for a mission/humanitarian trip and I won’t sleep until Monday the 19th when she is safely back on US soil. Yup I went through this last year too. I’m going to need your site and ideas to keep my mind distracted. Enjoy your day. M
Oops wondering not windering. Lol
I remember hearing the phrase “In Colors” for the first time a little over a year ago– with no explanation. I had zero idea what these women were talking about. SU terms can be a foreign language to the uninitiated, so I appreciated your brief explanation above! Since my first exposure, I have made intimate acquaintance with these fine hues. In fact, they all live in my home! Thanks for sharing so much of yourself with us.
I love your card! Of course, its because I LOVE bright colours (and lots of them!). As for a memory, I have so many its hard to choose as MY Mother had 8 children! In a large family there are countless memories but she truly gave US a gift by giving us ‘each other’! I guess my favorite memories would be the time spent with my 4 sisters AND my Mom making cards! YES, we ALL love paper and crafting together…LOL
Happy Mothers Day to you…
Making cards with my Mom. She is 84 and she introduced me to Stampin Up and card making. Awesome lady and she makes beautiful cards. Happy Mothers Day.
Hi Susan. I take a trip down memory lane every day when I open your blog. I’ve lived in Maine all my life, except for two years when my husband and I lived in Baltimore. I always think of our good times there when I read your blog! Thanks for the opportunity to win blog candy…that is always fun. Come to my blog today and you may win some blog candy from me! : ) Cheers, Dawn MacKay
Congrats on your 2nd anniversarynwith Stampin Up! Woot Woot. Time sure does fly by when you’re having too much fun. I follow your posts everyday and love your blog.
Happy Mothers Day.
I am really beginning to like the new In Colors, but am really going to miss the ones that are retiring. My Mother always encouraged me and was loved by all. I really think she would have loved SU! Thanks for sharing the great comparison on how the new In Colors fit in so well with the existing colors.
Memories of mom are my companions since her sudden passing 2 years ago. One is that, through our frequent moves in my childhood, she was my one “constant”. Always there, providing a comfortable home and loving presence in an otherwise confusing world.
Happy Anniversary Susan! Always love your cards. Memories of my mother fill my mind. She loved to paint and I can just picture the two of us sitting together making cards. If she was only here with me now to enjoy it. It has been many years since her death but I still miss her.
When I think of patience, my Mother’s sweet face comes to mind. She was the most patient person I have ever come in contact with….may I be more like her every day.
My favorite colors in the new shades are Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon, such pretty versions of Purple and Aqua Blue.
Ok, one of my favorite memories of my mother is back when I was about 15-16 years old and she would drive me to my swim practices and wait there for at least 3 hours, sitting on those really uncomfortable stands, always knitting something. She is 90 now and unfortunately she has Dementia but she lives with my husband and me, we take care of her, she is surrounded by her 2 granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren too. It’s hard, our lives have changed a lot but, even if some days are more difficult than others, we feel that it’s the right thing to do.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!!
My dad passed away in 1984 so it’s been a long time. But I was always my “daddy’s little girl” and remember the love he demonstrated. Thanks for a chance to remember and to win!
My mom and her mother gave me my love of baking—cookies pies–a good skill to have since I have four boys who like to eat!!! Think of them both everytime I make something.
Well, where do I begin. It is very hard for me to pick a memory, they are all blurred together. I lost my Mom more than half my life ago. My sisters and I try to keep the memories alive. I think I would like to share one of my Mother’s Day memories with my two girls. When they were young, and we were alone, we would have a picnic in the park to celebrate Mother’s Day. We still talk about that every Mother’s Day. If it rained . . . we had in-door picnic in the living room. That makes me smile! 🙂
Oh, P. S., Susan I love this card. I can’t believe how you got those squares to line up so perfectly. The colors are very nice; I love the deepness of them. Great job. Love, Love, Love it. 🙂
Hi Susan, this card is a great way to “show off” the new In-Colors. Until I saw your card, I was not that excited about them…now that’s changed! I, too, always have my Mom in my thoughts. Even though we lost her 18 years ago, she is still with me daily. She lived with us and I always tell my children that that was a gift from God, especially to be able to care for her when she became ill. Happy Mother’s Day!
Beautiful color, beautiful card. I love the way you showed the new colors.
I lost my Mom almost a year and a half ago to cancer also. It’s a very hard time for me still.
While cooking a Thanksgiving dinner, my Mom and I took a selfie and we laughed so hard. Altho’, my Mom was horrified when I sent her the picture in mail. She was horrified that you could see up our noses in the picture. Too funny! I never found the picture. I wonder to this day if she threw it out.
I enjoy your blog and the clean, but perky style of your cards. I love how music has the power to take us back into a different time and place. Certain songs just bring back vivid memories of past experiences. Happy Mothers Day!
My favorite memories are of my grandmother, who taught me to do so many things: sewing, needlepoint, bead work, quilting, knitting, cooking, and so much more. She was a role model on how to be patient, thoughtful, encouraging, and considerate. I know I am a better mother and person because of her. I do regret that she passed away before I learned the art of card making. I could give her a thank you card every day for the next twenty years and it still wouldn’t be enough to thank her for all she did for me.
Thanks for a chance to win blog candy. The new colors are growing on me but I must admit I like the pastels better. I was at the island county fair when I discovered stampin up.
Hi Marlene, I know you don’t know me but I just read you comment on here and wanted to pray for you. I pray for peace for this mom Lord, give her comfort knowing You will guide her daughter path and keep her safe. I pray for her daughter to be safe and to trust in You Lord. Bring her daughter home to the US safe and sound. In You might name Jesus I pray amen.
Oh and I pray for sweet sleep in Jesus name amen
Beautiful card. What a great way to show off the new colors. Memories of my mom – my mom’s birthday is Dec. 24th. We all got together for the day and made a huge deal of it. We did not want her to feel like she was forgotten so close to Christmas. We still do it but with more family now:)
My Mother recently passed away in early March. This is our first Mother’s Day without her. Although we didn’t always celebrate big, as there were miles between us, we did always make certain that she was remembered with flowers, candy and of course a handmade card from me. She will be missed forever! But she is once again with my Dad, the love of her life!
Happy Mothers day to you. I love coming to your blog and seeing what new ways you make a card. I love this card and it looks like a lot of work with placing the squares. Thank you for sharing with us.
My mother lives with me and my family, and she is a big help because I have a daughter with CP and she will watch her for me so I can work. One day I came home from work and her and my daughter was a sleeping on the floor in front of the T.V. watching Barney. I think they must of had a fun day of playing because they didn’t even hear me come in the house. Blessings to you
I LOVE the new In Colors!! I’m going to share one of my favorite memories that is Stampin’ Up! related. I had never heard of Stampin’ Up! until I moved from my home state of Texas to Southern Illinois in May 2008. I attended my first SU Card Club as a guest in June 2008. I LOVED it and I was HOOKED from the get go!! 🙂 BTW, Happy 2nd Anniversary! 🙂
Your display of the new colors is not boring to me! I like it! The swishes of color from the Work of Art stamp set are perfect for showcasing the ink with the background of squares of paper!
Today’s memory is of one year ago today when my youngest daughter got married! Except for a road closure making it take more than twice as long to get to the venue, which was not very far from our home, things went pretty well. And, best of all, my girls were getting along with each other, something that had been lacking for over two years before that. The bride was beautiful and the weather cooperated. An uncle of the groom dispatched the water moccasin that was eyeballing the proceedings. The trees were green and matched the lime-green of the bouquets perfectly! And, now it is one year later!
Thank you for sharing your talents!
Cyberhugs!
Thanks for sharing the new In-Colors with us, Susan. One of my fondest memories was when my mom and I would visit NYC do a little shopping, laugh at some of the sites and have a nice dinner. She was crippled and it was hard for her to get around but she did her best(taxi)to make our day special….love and miss you mom!
I remember patiently waiting for the TV repairman to finish before we left for the hospital – our first – twins no less!! Unfortunately my Mother was very sick with cancer and only got to see and play with them a few months.
I started Stampin’ one year ago, this month…..loving every minute of it. My Mom has been gone 13 years this October. Being the baby of 6, has proven to be the best of the best!!So many wonderful memories….one of my favorites would be the ability to have moved back home in the 90’s to live with her before she had to be placed in a nursing home. Happy Mother’s Day to All….
Happy, Happy on your 2nd Anniversary! I love the new In-Colors, which surprises me because I’m a Pastel girl!! Have a great day.
I love your blog and the clear, simple lines you use.
One of my favorite memories as a child was going to the farm. My grandmother made root beer in her cellar and that was the best. This was in the day of my Kool aid mom and 7 siblings. Fast forward 20 years, my sons and I stopped at the A&W stand, on the way to their great grandmothers. She always had ice cream on hand to make root beer floats. Fast forward 30 years, I always make sure we have root beer and ice cream on hand to celebrate with our granddaughter,. I hope it becomes a wonderful memory for her and continues on in some fashion.
I miss a lot of strong women in our family especially.this weekend.
My mom and I have most fun playing cards. It displays each of our personalities. Now it’s fun to see her teaching my son these same lessons and rules. I can’t wait to have the new In Colors in my hands! I love them!
Susan,I enjoyed seeing the new In Colors on your card today. Thanks for sharing. My Mom was very crafty and we would make things together. I learned so much from her. Wish she was still here so that we could make cards together. I am sure she would enjoy it. (She has been gone for over 16 years now.) Enjoy your weekend.
Happy anniversary and happy Mother’s Day to you! Hearing my mom tell stories is always fun! Especially when any of her 8 sisters are around or 2 brothers were around. We’ve lost some but several are still with us. It is always a hoot to hear them. Making any memories with them to have stories to share with my children is a blessing.
My memories are of going to the farm and having the root beer my grandmother made in her cellar. This was in the day of kook aid moms and 7 siblings. Fast forward 20 years, bring my sons to their great grandmothers house for root beer floats. We’d always stop at the root beer stand and buy a jug. She’d supply the ice cream. Fast forward 30 years, my youngest son visits with his daughter and we celebrate by having root beer floats.
I miss a lot of strong women this weekend.
Have fun memories of making kluski noodles with my grandma & feeding the liver & onions she made (yuk!) to her dog. remembering fondly my mom always feeding the robins raisins (6am they would sit outside her bedroom window cuz she threw the raisins out when she got up with my dad for work) & feeding the squirrels walnuts (she had a favorite she could feed by hand). miss my mom.
Congratulations on your two-year anniversary! Love your card style and blog–visit every day. My mom passed when I was 10. Being the only girl, I inherited her things, including her box of recipes. At age 10, that was not on my radar but fast-forward to my early married years and I was all over that. I hauled out that little green box with its little red pencil in the holder (probably vintage 1940’s!) and just knew I was on my way to cooking/baking like my mother. Everyone raved about her cooking and pickling skills. I was SO excited! Imagine my surprise when I discovered that these little 3×5’s held not the magical recipes that would elevate my kitchen presence for years to come, but ordinary recipes I already had in my cookbook collection! What? Yup, it was ‘Mom Magic’ that made everything she cooked/baked/pickled absolutely amazing. Lesson learned: it’s what YOU put into things (heart, soul, love, etc.) that makes something ordinary, extraordinary. Even in card making, yes? Happy Mother’s Day EVERYONE!
I will never forget when I was a youngster that my grandma on my dad’s side would come over for dinner every holiday and that I would hide from her because whenever she came over she would check our rooms and scold us the entire time she was visiting. So, I decided that if she couldn’t find me that she couldn’t scold me!!
Great blog post! And how generous of you to give out all that blog candy. Here’s my memory: my mother playing with us – when we would go to a water park, she would go down the slides with us, at home she would play basketball with us, she would swim with us, and go on the swings with us….she had my brother when she was just 21, and me when she was 23, so she was young and energenic when we were growing up!
Oh, and I love the new in colors!! Happy 2nd anniversary too!!
Your card are always Fabulous 🙂 Love you blog and love reading your post and each story you have to say 🙂 Thanks for sharing
My Grandma (Nana) is in Heaven & thankfully I will see her again someday! But I do miss her now! She was a wonderful Christian example & a great cook & it was always important to her to have family get togethers. I am thankful that I was blessed to have her as MY Nana!
Thanks for helping us to stop & reflect & for the chance at some goodies 🙂
My mom is amazing…..so kind and giving and she really listens. Oh, and I think she has saved every card I have ever made for her.
Thank you for the chance to win some blog candy. A memory down memory lane…..hmmmmmm….I remember becoming a mother all those years ago…that is my fondest Mother’s day memory.

Oh which memory to pick? . . . Elephant leg pants in sixth grade? . . . The beautiful fall dress she made for my daughter? . . . Picking me up from elementary school in ‘that ol fliver (my Dad loved that car!). . . or maybe how she taught me one Sunday to make lazy woman’s cobbler for my grandfather. I was probably around 8-9 years old and I wanted to help make Sunday dinner for Pop. I’m sure she was rushed anyway, but she carefully instructed me and helped my do it all by myself! I was so proud! I have never forgotten that recipe or how my Mom made me feel that day!
My favorite memories are of time spent with my mother and sister. We travel somewhere every year or two; sometimes close to home, sometimes far away. The memories we’ve made are treasures to me. We’ve seen so many great things and have a great time together making memories we will always hold close.
Woops, I didn’t see that you had wanted memories of our moms. Well, my mom and my step mother were both at the wedding. I have a picture of them together in the house where the wedding party was getting dressed. People often think it is strange that the two of them would get along, but they always have.
Happy Mother’s Day to you. I lost my mom last week. This Mother’s Day is going to be tough. My mom made the best fudge and fried chicken I’ve ever tasted. It was always a time to stuff myself silly with all of her cooking. My mom had a sharp wit and was known as a woman who would tell you exactly what she thought, I remember the day that she told me that I was was a better mother than she was. She thought I needed to have more children because I was good at mothering. I could go on and on…. God Bless You on Mother’s Day and thanks for the blog candy!
Well this is easy for me today…it’s my youngest’s 9th birthday today!! I remember how very small and cuddly he was! And to this day, he still VERY lovey!! He’s so happy and sweet…wonder where he got that from…lol!! I have a hard time reminiscing too much because I always come back to the fact that my mother died before she could meet either of my kids (she actually died the EXACT day I found out I was pregnant with my first son so I never got to tell her). Funny thing is, my 2nd son always used to talk about an angel he would see in the house. I know it was my mom visiting us and seeing how my boys & I were doing. Wonder if she’ll come to his family birthday party later tonight.
Susan
I love your blog and view it everyday to get inspiration.. Personal problems have kept me from stamping but I still look forward to your ideas. This card is different for you but I like it.
My memory is when my dad who worked three jobs won playing numbers and one Easter took the four of us kids to NYC Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday to see the premiere of the singing nun and the sound of music before it even came out in the movies. Then to the cattlemens restaurant for dinner and horse and buggy ride through manhattan. Oh the memories. I am 62 this year and when I get together w my family we still talk about it!!!
Hi Susan
I too, have lost my Mom to cancer Feb 2012 and there is not a day go by that I don’t think of her or of the countless memories we made from my childhood to the moment that she had died. One of the funniest memory is… we were driving in the car and there were many signs that read “camp wood” and my mom had said to me, “they sure advertise alot for that camp, i wonder where it located!!!!!!!!!!! SHE WAS SERIOUS. I was driving and laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes and had to pull over and explain what “camp wood” was, and she laughed harder than I have seen her laugh in a long time. Happy Mothers Day To All
I can not wait to get my hands on the new In colors! I will miss the retiring colors but perhaps not as much due to these new vibrant fun colors. Thanks for sharing..
What fun blog candy and love the card, new catalog time is always so exciting! I have lots of Mother’s Day memories but my favorite part now is watching my Mother with her great grandchildren and counting my many blessings 😉
Thanks for a chance to win, have a wonderful weekend!
I enjoy reading your blog. I took my boys to the ABQ Botanical Gardens today. Seeing all the Iris there today reminded me of my Grandmother. She planted flowers in her yard and ours. I remember lots of talks while helping plant or weed. I think she knew the names of every plant and flower!
Hi Susan, this is a tough weekend for me as I lost my mom to cancer almost 3 years ago as well. She was the best and I miss her dearly but I always have her close with all of the wonderful memories. I love your blog, you give me inspiration. Thank you
down memory lane growing up in a family of 6 kids we loved it when our mom made Sunday dessert
Cherry Cha Cha … graham cracker crust, layered with mini marshmallows in whip cream and topped with cherry pie filling.. YUMMY
Happy Mothers Day ! Thankfully I have so many wonderful memories of my Mom. She has been in a nursing home for the past 8 years suffering from Alzheimers. She has been affected for 14 years now and she is only 78 years old. Fortunately I get to see her almost every day. I wouldn’t miss it! I rely on those memories to help me through it and talk to her about them hoping she, too, will remember.
This is a very special weekend for me and my best guy. We celebrate 40 years of marriage on Sunday, along with Mother’s Day.
I have a wonderful memory of a grandmother that “LIVED” to be 104 & kept moving constantly with so many things right up until about a month before she passed away! What an example for me when I think I can’t go anymore!! You are a very talented stamper & I look forward to your blog posts, thank you for sharing & for a chance to win some blog candy!
Congrats on your 2nd anniversary. I think I’m beginning to like the new in-colors; love your card to showcase the new colors. There are so many wonderful memories I have of my mother; she was only 4’11” tall but every inch of her was filled with love and patience. Thanks for a chance to win.
You are very talented and i always look forward to see your cards every day.thanks for sharing. i had a wonderful Mother who loved me more than anything. she made all my clothes, coats, everything i wore.she was a strong Christian lady, worked hard up until she could no longer do that.i feel very blessed to have her as my Mom.
My Mother is such a sweet and loving person. She loves blue willow dishes and has a white, powder blue and yellow kitchen. Every time I see pale blue and yellow, I am reminded of her and what an awesome mom she is!
Love your blog, Susan! You give us lots of great tips. I, too, lost my Mom a few years ago and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss her and think of her. I work at an elementary school about 3 blocks from my Mom & Dad’s house. I used to walk there every day at my lunch time and my Mom would be watching for me and usually had a treat for me. No one loves you like your Mom.
Happy Mother Day Susan. I am fortunate to have my Mother and have just spent the last 10 days with her, taking her out to the Everglades, the beach, dinner theatre and for a manicure and pedicure tomorrow. I am also a new Grandma and it is magical.
I know what a terrible loss cancer is for those of us who have lost a dear loved one. I lost my Wonderful Father to multiple myeloma in Dec 2010.
Thanks for the chance to win your blog candy. Keep up the good work.
My favorite memory is with my grandmother. She always had homemade rootbeer for us when we visited her on the farm. I had a kool=aid mom and 7 siblings. Fast forward 20 years. My sons and I bought a jug of root beer and brought it with us on our visits to her. She always had ice cream on hand for us to make root beer floats. Fast forward another 30 years. I always have root beer and ice cream on hand when my granddaughter visits. Hope to continue a tradition.
I miss a lot of strong women in my family and friends this weekend.
Tomorrow my girlfriend & I our hosting our annual girlfriends luncheon. All our guests are moms & felt they needed to be honored. It’s a fun day filled with food, fun, & laughter. (Of course the invites are made with Stampin’ Up products.)
Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Congrats on your second anniversary Susan! I visit your blog daily and love all the inspiration you share.
Growing up my wonderful Mother (and my just-as-wonderful Daddy)was a shift worker. Every week it was a different shift and I remember Mom (and on off weeks my Nana) asking in the morning what I wanted for dinner. No matter what I chose, it would be that evenings dinner. Luckily I still have Mom, but I do miss Nana like crazy!
Thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy!
Hugs,
Michelle
Happy Mother’s Day to you! My mother is an amazing cook, baker and seamstress. I remember when I was small she would make custom doll clothes for my Barbie. I never realized until I was older just how much time those little dresses take! We were poor when I was small, but I never knew it as my mom always crafted, cooked or baked something.
Wow, it has been 10 years since I lost Mama. Except that I cannot call her, hear her voice, she is still do close. So close that when I unexpectedly see a picture of her I almost cry.
She inspired me to love art snd color, music and books, nature. The Wetlands set has Mama”s name written all over it!
Thanks for the chance to win blog candy. I have so many wonderful memories with my mother to cherish.
I look back at my childhood, and think it wasn’t all that long ago. My children are now 19 and 22 and I am no longer the young mother with the toddler on her hip. My dear grandmother just turned 94 on Thursday, and dementia now has a strong hold on her. She however takes great comfort in holding a baby doll. Once a mother, always a mother. The years roll by so quickly. I love the saying that the days are long, but the years are short. How true.
Thanks for your blog and all of the great ideas you provide.
I actually really like this card and don’t think it’s boring. Your squares are matched up perfectly! The new in colors are lovely, I wasn’t expecting such deep dark tones but I am really liking them. Thank you for a chance to win some blog candy.
I’m excited for the new catalog release! Looking forward to the new in colors.
I already sent out my Mother’s Day cards this year! I think I still have one more to mail out, so I’ve done pretty good this year!!
Thanks for the beautiful preview of the new colors. So excited to see them in person so I can truly get a good look. I’m going to really miss Summer Starfruit. One of my favorite memories is from my wedding. My husband & I got married in a beautiful garden and I insisted he not see me before I walked down the aisle. I know this is not popular anymore, but I was very insistent since I wanted him to get the full effect when he saw me for the first time in my dress. I’ll never forget the look on his face when he saw me!!! It meant the world to me then & it still does.
Fun card! The swish or swooshes of colors reminds me of when I was a kid and coloring! On Friday nites my sitter would take me downtown so could get a new color book or crayons. We would get drinks at the fountain – she would get a cherry coke but I don’t remember what I would get. Then we would sit on the tall curb on Jefferson St. and I would color and she would watch the guys drive by and see all her girl friends. My parents bowled on Friday nites. I loved big areas to color so I could make my own swish of color and then fill it in. All those wonderfully aligned squares on your card reminds me of the first Kandinsky painting I saw in Paris in a museum though he used more white space and irregular squares.
My mom died 10 years ago this Memorial Weekend. I am so grateful still that I didn’t have to put her in a nursing home and that her Alzheimer’s didn’t get to the point she didn’t remember me. Although I know she thought of me as much younger and thinner!
For me, it’s not so much memories with my mom but what she taught me. She has such a heart of gold for those she loves. She puts others first and always helps everyone who needs it. She is just an all round good person. Happy Mother’s Day to you! I am really enjoying all the pretty cards on your blog! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I remember picking every dandelion and weed I could find and putting them into a bouquet for my mother on Mother’s Day. I was 5 and very proud of myself.
Hi Susan,
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! 🙂
I’m so sorry about your mother! 🙁 That has got to be one of the hardest losses.
My mother is the first person I think to call when anything happens-good or bad! The person I share everything with. My most vivid memory of my mother during childhood is actually of a time when she wasn’t there. I was a 10th grader, traveling in Mexico with my Spanish Club during Spring break when I got really ill (spiked a high fever, had chills, and strept throat). I can still remember that intense feeling of just wanting my mother. She couldn’t make the physical aches go away, but I just knew I’d feel better in her presence (her understanding, warmth, & comforting ways)!
Thank you for sharing and for the chance to win!
Have a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!! 🙂

I just like being able to spend time with the people I love on holidays! Mother’s Day doesn’t isn’t just about my mom or my hubby’s angel mother…I take time to reflect on all the women in my life who have influenced me for the better!
Enjoy and Hugs!
Thanks for the chance to win your Blog Candy ! Memories from childhood about my Mom……I remember searching through her purse, a treasure trove of goodies and always finding DoubleMint Gum and the way it smelled with the leather of her bag. Of course there was always a ton of change in there to which she typically said she didn’t have when we asked for some to play a video game or use in one of those plastic bubble toy machines at the grocery store. Mom’s purse was always a bag of mystery, you never knew what you might find when you got the opportunity to dig around in there 🙂
