Good Morning! Today is still another twist on how you can use the Project Life, Hello December Cards! Plese click here to see yesterdays post in case you missed it as yesterday I simply used the cards that were already colorfully printed and did some simple mattings to make cards….
Today…..too darn cute and oh, so practical! These are not only fun to make…they go together super fast and easy and they make a perfect gift! I have made a simle box to hold them and I'll show you how to make that as well!Let'e go!
The Profect Life cards are 3" X 4" and than I just trimmed them down to a 2 3/4" square! The design that I have used on these cards today have multiples of the same in the Card Collection Kit….so ultimately you could make several of these for gifts!
Wouldn't they make a perfect Hostess Gift for the Holidays!
All I did was cut 3" X 6" strips to make a 3" X 3" card….this is a great example as why having White 12 X 12 paper on hand…you could get (8) cards out of one sheet of paper! Stampin' Up! has the adorable square envelopes…so easy! (remember, you can click the pictures at the end of the post or simply hit that Shop Now button and go to town!)
Below is the stamp set, Demeber Wonder that I have used to create all of these gems! This is in the Holiday Suppliment and a set not to be missed! Remember, the items in this suppliment are "while supplies last" so please do not delay in order as I would not want you to be disappointed!
You can see how different and festive they all are and how easy! Again, use the stamps that suits you…and also the color – just have fun creating….no rules!
Now let's get to the box…again, super easy and I hope that you enjoy making 3-D projects as much as I do. I think that the main reason I love it so much is for the fact that I feel like I really….really created a masterpiece! There are so many things that we can make out of paper!
Here is a side view of the box….it is super deep and it did comfortably hold all 10 cards and envelopes….I actually think that you could get 15 in there……but I put (2) squares of Chocolate on top of the cards for a sweet treat!
Here is the "low down" on how to make the box…..please email me if you have any questions! Also, I highly recommend using the Stampin Trimmer as it make it super easy for exact cuts and I truthfully perfer using the Simply Scoring to make 3-D projects….I think it gives a deeper impression!
- The bottom of box – 7 3/8 X 7 3//8" and then scored at 2" all the way around….fold in score lines and cut the edges as shown below and add sticky strip.
- For the lid….I used the Santa & Company DSP and the piece is a 6 1/2" X 6 1/2" and scored at 1 1/2" on all sides and put together as the bottom was. (make sure you do not score too hard with the DSP…it is thinner than our card stock)
So quick and easy to put together! I am sure that you have many different DSP's that you could use or it also would be cute to have a "belly band" around the box instead of the ribbon but I love the look of the ribbon with a simple knot!
Now here is another thing that I was doing the "happy" dance with! Well….you know me and liners! I was able to make (2) liners from (1) Project Life Card……look below and you can see how I was able to sneak it in…..It just makes me smile when things like this happen!
That's it my cyber friends! Isn't this just too darn cute! I was very happy with being able to use a product in a totally different way! As you can see, I am a believer and you can also see that getting (2) of these would be super fun to make with a friend!
I love it when there are "no rules….no guideline – just you imagination!" Please click here to shop away…Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me……until tomorrow!

Nice! I haven’t tried any of the Project Life things yet. Very cute alternative to using them for scrapbooking!

Hi Susan, Love all the comments, and I agree!
🙂
Seems like you really did a lot with just one package of Project Life cards. The Playground Project Life cards would make great thank you notes for a teachers gift, this time of year. You are really thinking out of the box. Great gift ideas and workshop as well. Thanks for sharing your creative ideas.
Love the box! How did you make the honeycomb shape on front of card?
I “hear you”…there are endless options! Have fun…
It is…I would recommend that you use cardstock for the bottom…I think it makes it nice and sturdy.
I agree…there are so many gift giving options with this! We all use little cards and I know that the recipient would be thrilled with this handmade gift!
I didn’t make it….it is already printed on the cards!!!! That’s what makes this project so fun and easy. You get 71 printed cards for just $9.95~ Woot-woot!
Brilliant Susan! I’m in awe! Awesome project and cards and they would make the perfect gift. I’m in love with the December Project Life Card Collection, Accessory Pack and and the December Wonder stamp set. They do make awesome cards and embellishing.
Thanks so much for sharing them with us and for the instructions! You are so wonderful!!!!
Not sure which I like better the cards or the box? What a wonderful project! You bet that is going to get a try out in my house! You know how much I adore the little cards! That box will be really good and sturdy too. Ah, I was so impressed I had to have a Ghiradelli chocolate too to celebrate your cool project! Seemed like a good idea to me!
