I know that these Tootsie Pops have been around before but I think that they are soooo darn tootin' cute that it brought back! I have so many great memories of doing things like this with my children!
The best thing is that I STILL LOVE TO MAKE THEM...and I still send things like this to my adult children and they always call to thank me for the memories and then naturally I have my moment to say….do you remember when you were a Pumpkin for Halloween…..
(Do you remember making the ghosts out of kleenex)!!! Well, I admit, I love tootsie rolls and tootsie pops! Making them into an adorable broom is so cute at this time of the year but I thought that they needed a little "box" to stand on so they would be straight!
Today is also the Pals Paper Art Challenge and I "squeeked" this is with the color palette that they are using! Please make sure you go to the PPA site and see what the design team came up with this week!
I have LOTS of pictures for you with tips and tricks but please feel free to email me if I can be of help to you! They are so fun and I will say they get adictive to make! Let's start with the box!
I did use the smallest circle framelit to cut out the middle but if you do not have that or want to save time…just put a couple of glue dots on the bottom of the tootsie pop….works like a charm!
In the picture below you can see the little box! (I think a little Elephant should be standing on it) I like the fact that the coffee filter drapes over it to hide it!
Now let's get the making the broom…so easy and so cute! Again, please feel free to email me if you need further help!
So I realize there are lots of pictures being thrown at you but I do hope that it helps! To tie it off I used a piece of Baked Brown Sugar Bakers Twine and then the Stamp and Punch came from the Merry Everything Bundle! (I thought that this sentiment was great as we all know that you end up chewing the center of the Lolipop!!!)
True, you could purchase this seperately but I would not….WHY??? You will save an instant 15% plus this is a great and very practical bundle! I also used the 1/8" circle hand held punch and guess what? It is on the weekly deal special! I am amazed at how often I do use it!
To me, the key adhesive are the glue dots for this project…these little gems are easy to tuck in and with using the piercing tool…it makes it easy!
Thanks for popping in today and I hope that you go to the store and purchase some lollipops and try this! I am sure that whomever is lucky enough to get this broom will be a happy camper!
I hope that you all enjoyed the blog hop yesterday….I am still trying to go through and see what all of the PALS were up to! Sooooo much talent out there!
Remember, shopping in your jammies is FUN…..Click here and smile!
Until tomorrow….I have a post for you that is very near and dear to my heart!
Very cute and easy to do “brooms”, your picture directions are really awesome, I’m a visual person so this really helps. This tag bundle is so pretty too, thank you for sharing.
These are adorable!! And I like the box/stand!! Perfect in every way – thank you for the photos:-)
Thank you for the picture directions, they are so easy to follow. This is such a cute project!
What a perfect little project. I like being able to make something cute for the grandsons without going overboard on the candy. This will probably be one of my handouts at our next class, as well. The pictures were so helpful.
Good Morning Susan! Great project. Love all your pictures.
🙂
Hi Susan,
I saw this on the web last year and made several to give out to my grandsons classmates…………..WELL…………SURPRISE….ALL of the ink from the sharpie came off on the kids hands!………..WHAT A MESS!!! If you think of a way to make the ink “stay put” on the lollypop stick Please let me know!! This is such an awesome treat to give out, but because the ink came off on their hands, I had to throw all of the remainders away.
Visual always works with me as well! Have fun making them….
I think that the box makes it the perfect finishing touch! They look so darn cute on a table!
YEAH! I know that your class will love it…
Oh my….I bet that was a huge mess! I have a confession…I like the raspberry flavored ones and I have been sneaking one…(well several) – I have not had the sharpie come off on my hands….(maybe I did not hold it long enough as I am famous for going after that Tootsie Roll!
I love these! Great for a special office treat! They are so adorable and I agree with the others for the very helpful visual instructions. Thanks Susan!
Those are adorable!! Thanks for sharing your inspiration!
So fun and easy! Thanks for sharing the idea and all the great photos! My grandkids would love these.
Fabulous Susan — and your directions are stellar 🙂 Now I have to go try this one too (along with my licorice broom) !! LOL
These are adorable Susan. Love the stand.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Great picture directions! Cute project! I know I would have liked it when I was little.
Cyberhugs!
Adorable, Susan! Thanks for sharing!
Susan these are so cute and like the rest of the comments, I’m also a visual person, so the pictures are wonderful. I’m going to share this with my retired ladies stamp group in a couple of weeks as the theme is Halloween/fall. They will love it.
Adorable – I can’t wait to make some!!
Question, Susan: I was trying to make one of these tonight and have two questions, are the coffee filters you used the natural colored ones? and do the tootsie roll pops sit on top of the box?
Some one mentioned the color coming off on the sticks. I rolled one in stanzon and used the heat gun to dry it if that helps. Takes a little longer probably, but don’t think the color will come off. I also used a white filter as that is all I had, but sponged it lightly with crumb cake, not to bad but time consuming.
One more thing, I also used the new frings scissors, but my opinion on that is still out:)
Okay, Susan, your brooms were cute enough, but those stands–genius!! Thank you for sharing your cute project!!
Susan, These are adorable! I can understand why you want to make more and more of them. And the stands – TOO CUTE!
Susan! the box stand is brilliant. Thank you throwing all of the pictures our way – truly appreciated the visual. Great project.
Yes, I did use the natural color coffee filters! You get a ton in a package and I had the kids at the barn eat some of the “brooms” and there hands were fine! GREAT idea about the black Staz-On…you’re so clever….aren’t they fun to make!
Check out my blog today (Sat) and these guys are equally fun!
I did try the fringe scissors and was not happy with the end result – very easy with the scissors!
Susan, These are so stinking cute and I KNOW that everyone will love receiving one from you!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these adorable broom treats! I have to find time to give this a try! Thanks so much for all the instructions! SUPER fun! XX
These are too darn cute! As soon as I saw them, I knew they had to be yours. Congratulations too on your well deserved promotion!
