Woot-Woot…it is the NEW YEAR! What a great way to start the New Year with a Pals Paper art Challenge. Please make sure that you pop over to the PPA Website to see not only what the design team came up with…but to see the inspiration that others did as well – a total inspiration to the max!
Today is a Color Challenge using Silver, Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy. When I saw the colors, I was challenged! First – I did not have any silver paper left and Wisteria Wonder is not a color that I use often (sorry Arianne)! The minute I saw this little bow punch, I knew a super simple New Years Card would be in the works!
This will be my 1st post of 2 today, as later I will share with you part #2 of my Blog Candy saying goodbye to 2014 and Hello to 2015! You can have (2) chances to win so make sure that you check them out!
This is a SUPER SIMPLE card that focuses on a "sneak peak" that you will be able to order starting next Tuesday, January 6th! You are going to LOVE the new catalog and the sale-a-bration items are….3 simple letters – WOW!
Here you go my friends! You could easily switch up the bow tie and place a simple flower, birthday candle or actually nothing at all – just let the embossing part do it's thing (heck – you could use 2 colors and adhere them together with Sticky Strip as the seam is cover with the thin strip of paper)
- The base is my go-to note card in Whisper White!
- The Wisteria Wonder is 4 5/8" X 3 1/8" and then the Whisper White is 4 1/2" X 3" and then I ran just the top portion through the Big Shot with the Large Polka Dot Folder so I can have the bottom part a backfrop to stamp my sentiment!
- The sentiment is from the Tenny Tiny Wishes Set and if you do not have this…than you need to click that SHOP NOW button and get it – it is truly one of those "life savers" sets!
- To cover the seam part of the start and stop of the embossing I simply took a skinny piece of card stock to "break up" the area!
- To the adorable bow…this is using the new punch, appropriately called Bow Builder Punch and wowers….easy peasy! I used the All is Calm DSP (This is how I snuck in the silver) and then wrapped the other colors to make it pop! Glue dots to the rescue…and DONE!
- To the envelope fun…I simply took a piece of Wisteria White that is 2" X 5 1/2" and then ran it through the Big Shot the the Polka Dot Folder and using the "green glue" I took a very this bead of glue just around the outer edge and then placed the paper….(I do suggest to let it dry good before you take your scissors and trim the excess away!)
That is it! So simple yet so fun! Thanks for popping in and look for my 2nd post a bit later! You will want to read it and leave a comment so you can have a chance to win BOTH Blog Candy #1 and then the next post which is a dozen of handmade cards made me ME!
Here is to a WONDERFUL 2015 filled with help, tips and inspiration to you! Please feel free to email me and I deeply thank you for your ongoing support to my Stampin' Up! fun!
Until later!

omgosh! this is gorgeous…so simple and elegant…you are amazing. I so love your creations!! thank you so much for sharing!
Happy 2015 ! Cute card and I just love love that punch . You can make bows with your Envelope Punch Board ,but these are so cute and so quick !
Thank you for providing such a fun blog ! Looking forward to seeing what you are coming up with this year !!
I love the look of the little bow but how does it fit in an envelope without ruining the bow? Also, won’t it make the envelope too thick to send?
Love it! We are going to a male friend’s bday celebration this afternoon (changed last night to today instead of Sunday and thought I had plenty of time to make a card) and will make this card adding a bday sentiment. I will just have to improvise on the bow. Again, Susan to the rescue! Thanks!
Love this simple yet elegant card. And I was thrilled the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I have that set and did not realize that sentiment was there! Love the new small bow punch!
What could be more sophisticated to celebrate the new year! Love the big polka dots on the envie flap, too!
Great color combinations! I don’t think I would have come up with these without seeing them combined as you have done. A sweet card with lots of style. Well done!
Well, for no silver paper you managed to crank out a really cute card, Susan! Love the darling bow in those dots! Happy New Year!
super card! Happy New Year to you and yours; I look forward to visiting with you every day and I apprrciate that you post every dsy! And somehow, I am now back to receiving your posts in my email- yay!
I love everything about the card AND the envelope. So classy and can be used for any occasion. Thanks for sharing and happy New year!
I’ve been looking through all my stamps for a Happy New Year and then lo and behold, Susan to the rescue. I had no idea Teeny Tiny Wishes had that cute sentiment and I have that set. I love everything about your card and plan to CASE it today. That silver polka dotted bow is adorable.
I am with Mary Ann – I totally forgot about that set with a cute Happy New Years greeting! I bet it comes out again for this card! The bow punch will be so much easier than punching out the ovals and putting it together. This was really cleaver use of the colors. Another winner in my book!
Everyone have a healthy and Happy New Year!
It looks awesome but will it fit in the envelope – does it need a box with additional postage?
To ease everyone’s minds – Susan, just mail me the card and I will tell everyone how it survived!
Hey, it was worth a chance! Happy New Year everyone!
Thanks for showing the adorable bow made from the new punch.
