Good Thursday to all! We have a fabulous sketch challenge for you today (thank you Kerry Bray) so I hope that you pull out your supplies and go to town with this great sketch!
Please remember that you can play from today until Tuesday, the 24th to submit an entry and then on Wednesday the winner will be announced! ( You all are winners in our eyes)….just go ahead and play with the pals!
Here is the Pals Paper Art Link for you to see what the other design team artists came up. This is such a great, straight forward sketch, I know you can create a beauty with it. If you have no clue on how to upload your project, please email me and I will be happy to help you….I just want you to play!
Today I am showcasing another Sale-a-bration stamp set. It is called Big Day as every birthday is a BIG DAY and a day to celebrate! You can see that this set will take card of the young…the old…feminine and masculine – it is just about perfect and it can be yours with a qualifying order for free!
I was just so happy with this sketch, I am going to share with you all of the dimensions today (I know that you like that when I do) as I think that this card layout would be a great one for so many different occasions. What do you think – please feel free to leave me a comment with your ideas!
- The card is an A2 Vertical fold card and then the layer of white is 4" X 5 1/4"
- The (3) vertical pieces of card stock (Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush) are 3/4" wide X 5 1/4" and then I ran them through the Big Shot with my FAVORITE embossing folder, the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (This is a FREEBIE, while supplies last – click here to see)
- The fun focal point was using the #6 framelit, cutting our a piece of Watercolor Paper and then I stamped the image using Black Staz On…..WHY DID I DO THAT? Easy – I used the blender pens to get a great watercolor look and you need to use this permanent ink with the blender pens.
- The next rings were cut out with #6 and #7 and the #7 and #8. I adhered them together using bits of sticky strip so they would not wiggle around.
- Before I popped them up with Stampin' Vitamins, I used my trusty white gel pen to add dots…this creates such a quick and simple POP effect!
- The simple fru-fru was a simple Susan bow with knots at the end with a bit of fray – easy peasy…a glue dots makes it behave!
- To the envelop we go…I take a piece of Card stock 6" X 2/12" and run it through the Big Shot with the fun embossing folder…add green glue "just around the edges" and then take my scissors and go to town trimming off the excess….BAM – DONE!
Keeper….right? This is one of those cards that you could easily stamp up a bunch of these sentiments…leave them perfectly plain until you need a birthdat card or if I were you…I would make up (6) with this color combination….make up (6) using a Crumb Cake Card and it would be stunning with Night of Navy and Lost Lagoon and then PRESTO – you are looking great with a bunch of cards at your fingertips!
Thanks for sharing part of your day with me, I hope that you enjoyed this fun card and please pop back tomorrow as I have a special card for you….it is also a card that I will be sending to anyone that places an order with me during the Month of March…and also…we have not had any blog candy fun lately so be ready for a great chance to win some goodies!
You can see the goodies scrolling along below, feel free to click one to read about it and then if you need it – click again and it will be in your shopping cart! Again, feel free to email me if I can be of help!
Until tomorrow…..it's CANDY DAY…..YIPPEE-SKIPPEE!!!
Super fun card!
Love it.
🙂
I like your card! I haven’t done much with Strawberry Slush. I’m kind of two years behind on In Colors. I love how it looks on your card with the Pink Pirouette.
Cyberhugs!
I am a big fan of the 2015 In Colors and hope a couple like Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana end up in the “stay with us” list of SU colors. I think your card is really cute and I am trying to decide on a freebie for an order I am putting together. This cute stamp set might be it ! Decisions decisions !!
Bold, fun and you gotta love those little tassels on the twine!
Loved this card! I also loved your idea of stamping them in advance to have on hand. You are so smart! Keep up the amazing work Susan!!!
Love the whole card! 🙂
Great color combinations. Love the dots accent.
Love this! I’m going to have to CASE this for a friend whose favorite color is pink. Thanks for the dimensions!
Lovely card. Very clever fraying hen news of then twine. Perfect Itell style.
What a FUN card, Susan! I love what you did with the Thick Baker’s Twine!
Super cute, Susan! I can see this in a lot of different colors!
Great use of color without being too much. Love this layout – it is definitely versatile!
pretty in pink! great job on this card.
Oh so pretty in pink! Love the twine!
Tinkled pink over this card! Oh I gotta figure out how to get this stamp set. But, you know what is going on with me. This is totally a card I would make in multiples and different colors. I love that sentiment the way they did it and then add the part about the ice cream too on the inside. I really liked how you colored it too. As Lawrence Welk would say, “Wonderful, Wonderful!” Gotta go, I am way behind in checking your blog.
Great card, Susan! My fave is the 3 cut circles held together with sticky strip. Perfect way to add detail without adding a lot of bulk!
