Good Morning! Here is the stepped up version of the weekend fun! I am going to share with you a bunch of pictures as today I will let the pictures give you the inspiration and then pop back to yesterday's post to see that compared to this!
Please feel free to email me, I must say that I have not been on the computer much as I am traveling so I can check from my phone! I am sorry that the pictures are not the best but I do think that you will get "the feel"
The main difference is the cutting of the DSP….this is such and easy trick to do and with our trimmer…..WOWZERS – it is exact! They are 1" squares and then with the help of the "green glue", I adhered them into place! FUN…..right!?!?
Can you see from the above picture how I cut off the bottom of the front part of the card and then stamped my sentiment!. You might think that I am taking away from "writing space" but actually there is a bunch as the sentiment is so low!
The sweet little flower and the bakers twine did the trick…now I ask you….do you have these accent punches…if not, you need them – they are time busters…..when in doubt….put one in!
I actually really, really like both of them….how about YOU? I hope that you try this fun techinque. (just make sure you remember the way the pieces go back together)…it's a puzzle!
The green glue is a HUGE help….love that wiggle time!
I hope that weekend post was a fun one for you to see. The main thing that I want to show you is that you can make clean cards and make some simple tweaks to make is a bit different.
SUPER BUSY week ahead….it's all good or should I say, it will all be good! Tomorrow is a new group of weekly deals – remember this is the last day for this batch!
Have a fabulous day! Until tomorrow…..

I really liked your card from yesterday and I thought how were you going to make it any better…but I like today’s card just as much! Nice job and I love the new DSP that SU has put out in their new catalog.
They are both great cards!
Oh, I think these are great. I can’t wait to try them. Thanks so much, Susan.
🙂
This is such a great comparison. Both cards are outstanding. You are so creative in the way you created the blocks on the second card. I will definitely “file” that technique. Your details just rock! Happy Sunday.
Really pretty. Cannot decide which card I like better…TFS
Great cards! As you said, you can’t go wrong with either one.
Wow! I adore both these cards! The stepped up version is amazing!
Thanks so much for sharing…a must try!
Hugs,
Sunshine
Both cards are great. The DSP paper is a beautiful part of both cards. Love the 3 and a half by 6 size of the cards too. I will have to remember to keep that size in mind. It can make my favorite DSP paper go a lot farther. Super job.
I love both these cards, Susan. Clever.
Both versions of the card are great! I have so much DSP to use up, these are both very helpful!!!!
I hope you get back home safely from your horse shows!
Cyberhugs!
Love you a bunch for both cards! I honestly can not say I have a preference of which I liked the best! I really like that DP. The little flower on the baker’s twine would work for both cards as well. I also like the shorter front piece on the mosaic one showing the sentiment on the inside. Just so much fun!
I gotta tell you I made 6 cards yesterday! I used the polka dot crumb cake ones that was in that one kit last year. I cut a banner piece from one of those newsprint looking DP then a blue polka dot maybe Baja breeze? circle. I used my punch for the little house from the Sale-a-bration set and colored it in the blue, crumb cake and honey. Then, computer printed HEARD THE NEWS? On the inside it says I am moving. Then I used the cutouts from the same kit that looks like the steno pad with the spiral cut out top pieces for my friend to put her new address on. Plus some of the arrows on the inside on the left side for a pop of color. Oh, and I used some of the striped washi tape that matches on the front to anchor the banner. These little cards were fun and fairly fast to make. Choosing the colors was the hardest part. I packaged them in one of the little polka bags that seem to match after I did the banner treatment on it and used the thick baker’s twine to close it. Sorry, I didn’t get a photo I was so excited to put them in the mail this morning! I think Pam will be pleased with these and she will be able to write her new address on the white steno notebook looking paper for her older friends who have trouble seeing print on the crumb cake paper. I used the striped washi tape on the envelope as a decoration. If she needs more I have most of the stuff to make more.
Hope you have a safe trip coming back from the horse show. How is Norman doing?
Dear Susan, I love both cards. They are both so sweet I love how you do your card on Saturday, then step it it up on Sunday. I love how you tell us all the different details. Great job. Have a great week. Ellen Hinds
Love it! Very clever with the bottom crop and squares….you rock again, Ms Susan!
Love these cards, Susan, especially the updated version. Great idea!
Both of your cards are lovely – but I truly love the Saturday card the best ! Thank you for sharing your inspiration !
Both cards are nice, but I like today’s card better. You are always clever to find different ways using the same paper. I always look forward to your weekend posts.
I really like both versions:)
Agreed! I will say as I have been cutting up paper for the Product shares I have said – this is a stellar group of paper!
My ideas on using them are swimming in my head!
Can’t go wrong with either one…it all comes down to that darn word….TIME!
Please try the 1″ squares…remember to use the green glue (a wee bit) and have fun…love to do this!
When you have a paper like this…you do need to cut it with the trimmer, but if you have a solid or small print…go to town with the 1″ punch….ZOOM!
Thanks…just taking a bit more time to line up the 1″ squares is worth it – give it a totally different feel!
Great point – with having 12″ it does make you paper go further! I am going to pull out some of my old paper and make some cards!
I am flying home as I type…Stanley is safe and sound in Atlanta!
WAY TO GO…..I m so proud of you for rockin’ out 6 cards! Give yourself a pat on the back…and I am sure that Pam is going to love them (especially since you made them)
Norman is doing much, much better! Now my worries at on the old guy, Eddie – he makes my heart pitter patter but I can see that his age is getting him….
I am on my way home from getting Stanley to Atlanta….I left my trucj and trailer there….talk about a quick 24 hours!
You are so welcomed…I think that it is fun to see and show haw little things do make a difference! Thanks for joing me this weekend!
I forget about cutting off the bottom of the front of the card…I do hope that you try it – it truly makes a fun card!
Glad you like it….it might take a bit more time but I think that it is worth it!
I will share the dimensions tomorrow….great way to use up a big print of DSP!
I am glad that you enjoy them…I have fun thinking about what I am going to do and then how I can change it up a bit – we all see things differently, that’s why I enjoy showing the same card 2 days in a row…just a bit different!
Awe Norma…I LIKE YOU! You always are so kind to hop on my blog!
You are in my thoughts and prayers as you have surgery today! Wishing you a quick recovery!! I’m having a total knee replacement this morning so we will both be in surgery. Blessings!!
Second surgery! Ouch, hope you are back on your feet again real soon!! Enjoy your cards very much! would like to see videos of the process of your card making. Take care
