I must say….I am happy that we are back on track with our 2 day posts that you all have learned to loved! This is a SUPER simple card and one that the sentiment can easily be changed up!
I love cards like this…a quick change of the sentiment and maybe the DSP – PERFECT….works for me – how about YOU! Do you remember about 2 weeks ago I shared with you that as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator we get a quarterly magazine filled with inspiration….well – this is where this idea can from!
This is a square card, you know I adore them and it is a 4 1/4″ square with the mat at 4″ and scored! The DSP is from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack. This card design works fabulous with small prints….
I say ~ go thru your stash and see what you have and just do it! How can it get any simpler than this? The speed tool of the Washi Tape Punch is the real star of this card…..I say – paper – punch – done!
Tomorrow I will give you more tips and tricks (the stepped up version) so please pop back – this is a GREAT card and one that I know you can whip up in a jif! Time is ALWAYS the thing we have against us….but with this card – no worries….a true speed card!
I have a ? for you….you can see in the above picture that I show you that you can use a regular envelope to mail this. True it is lined…which makes me happy 🙂 but I ask you….do you mine that the envelope is not a perfect fit???
You know me…I will share with you my thoughts tomorrow….one last look at the great card….
What do you think I am going to say about the envelope????? Hmmmm……guess you will have to POP back and see….and also see how I stepped it up!

It would really bother me that the envelop is not a “perfect” fit! I think it would bother you as well! LOL!!! When I spend the time to make a card, I want it to be a sweet little ‘package’ when the person that I am sending it to receives it … either in the mail or if I hand deliver it! Just one of those quirky things that needs to not happen! Thanks, as always, for your wonderful cards and for sharing your thoughts, tips, tricks and inspiration with us! You’re the best!!! Happy weekend!!!
OK, you got me with the envelope…..You are right, the card does look better when the envelope fits snug! I don’t have that punch board, but I do have odd sized envelopes that I’ve used when my cards are larger than an A2. Cute way to use that washi punch! Clean, simple and easy to make lots of them in a short amount of time!
It doesn’t bother me about the envelope…the card is super cute!
Love the use of the washi punch….great idea, great card! I do like the envelope to fit the card but in a pinch I guess an “ill-fitting” envelope will just have to do. Oh, the decisions we must make! Lol!
I totally have to have the envelope fit!!! I use the envelope punch board all the time. I have not sent a plain white envelope in ages….. except for those pesky bills! Love your simple elegant card!!!!
Love the card! I don’t mind if the envelope isnt exactly the same size/shape as the card.
LOVE your card !
Hmmm … I used to make square cards, mail them in square envies, and pay the extra cost. Somewhere along the way, I seem to have stopped making them. When I receive a handmade card, I save the card and not the envelope. I think I’ve evolved to just enjoying creating cards and to have the time to do so! As long as the envelope protects the card inside, I’m good?
Great card, Susan. Love this idea. I will be CASEing this card. Most of the time I like the envelope to fit, but it depends on the recipient. I agree with Suzie about saving the card while tossing the envelope. It’s interesting to read other readers thoughts. I will be interested in your thoughts tomorrow. Have a wonderful day.
How clever you are. Yes, I guess it bothers me that the card doesn’t fit in the envelope.
I don’t make square cards. I gotta get over it!
Hi Susan! I am ok with the envelope not fitting perfectly as I agree, people may keep and enjoy the card but the envelope usually gets tossed. In saying that I have to admit I love seeing your decorated envelopes!!! The details make the difference!!
Interesting post today as it is causing a lot of responses….I love to get thinking about why we do what we do also. I love the conversation!
Today’s card is awesome….we all probably have stashes of designer papers and scraps galore. I can’t wait to see what you offer up tomorrow!!!! You are the best!!!!
I am in the envelope fit camp. Since I got an envelope punch board, I feel I really need to make them fit the card, and it is an easy fix. I don’t consider myself a type “A”, just choosy.
I love square cards, and have been making more of them lately. I must also admit to sending them in A2 sized envelopes. It bothered me a bit at first, but I’m getting used to the fit difference. I feel if you embelish the envelope with a liner, coordinated stamp, or simple sentiment it lets the recipient know you aren’t slacking. I’ve received cards from you and know how beautiful and precise they are and I’m guessing you would have a difficult time not having your envelopes match. Love today’s card!
What a fun card and I love the idea of the Washi tape punch used. I don’t have that punch – thinking I didn’t need it and probably wouldn’t use it on banners that much. Now, this brings a new light to the punch! Ummmm. I love the idea of using up some scraps too.
Envelope, well I never purchased the envelope punch board and I really don’t make many square cards maybe for that reason. I like the fitted look but when I receive a card – it is what is inside that counts! I don’t keep too many envelopes. I received a few birthday cards with that new stamp on the back of the envelopes. I have kept them and maybe I need the Washi tape punch t punch that out to add to a card or envelope.
It doesn’t bother me that the card is smaller – but I know you love the envelope punch board
Great card! Can’t wait to see the stepped up version tomorrow. I am going to have to admit that it bothers me a bit if my envelope is not the proper size. I do feel the important part is the card inside though. Thanks for asking us, it was fun to read all of the responses 🙂
It does not bother me that a cute envelope is a different size than the card. The card is the amazing part.
I have to be cost conscious and getting a real card in the mail is amazing…plus you make a lined envelope..how amazing is that.
Love this quick and easy card. Like you said so easy to switch up the greeting and colors. I have an idea about how it can be stepped up so I look forward to checking out Sunday’s post.
As for envelopes, oh no, I gave up on that perfect fit thing a long time ago. It costs extra to send a square envelope so I’m fine with it going into whatever rectangle it fits into. At work every year after graduation they throw out the extra announcements and envelopes. Every year I rescue the envelopes from the trash. All my A2 cards go out in A6 envelopes (about 4.5×6). I like the bigger envelope. It is more forgiving when you have dimension or other lumps.
