Good Morning! Today I wanted to share with you some tips…some thoughts…to make you be ahead of the game when the magical date of June 1st rolls around (I know that we are all super excited and the time will ZOOM by)
I would grab that cup of coffee and read this post and hopefully it will help you…there are LOTS of great goodies in this new catalog…but we do not need EVERYTHING…that would be super silly and also that is why I offer a Product Share so you can get a taste of the huge buffet!
I do hope that this post help you with some thoughts for you to think about when looking at the new catalog! 🙂
- Grab a piece of paper and use it as your wish list. What I like to do is make a column of an “A list” and then a “B list”. I do this for stamps and then also for tools/framelits.
- When you are going through the catalog, take note of the bundles….as you will receive an instant 10% off by purchasing them together (yep, it used to be 15% but now it is 10%) 😥 – Many times I have written down the wrong number and was sad when my order came in and I did not use the “bundle number” so make sure you have the correct numbers and don’t be a Silly Susan!
- By now we all know that June 1st is the magical date and I highly suggest to “BE READY” to avoid any unforeseen back orders etc…we all get so excited and there are going to be some “HOT ITEMS” (I think) so I would not wait. I will do another post on the items that I think are going to be HOT! 🙂
- In the new catalog you will see that Stampin’ Up! grouped together a cardstock pack to coordinate with the Designer Series Paper. This is a brilliant as you will get (8) sheets in 3 different colors to work together with the Designer Series Paper (look on page 142 & 143 of the current catalog to see what I am talking about) This is a great way to have a nice selection of complementary colors for you to USE UP that DSP (you know how passionate I am able this)
- For those of you that are NEW to Stampin’ Up!…I think that the best way to get to know our cardstock is to purchase the individual collections in the assorted packs as you will get (2) sheets of each color for just $8.00 a collection – this way you can really see what paper colors you use more often before making a purchase of a whole pack.
- Speaking of the cardstock….the other thing that I truly feel is the best is to purchase from me the cardstock on a ring – I have everything all labeled for you – click here to see the product share offerings and it is #4 – I literally use it daily as I like to pull out color combinations and it stays tidy as it is on a ring!
- Stamp Pads – I do not think anyone will disagree with this….Stampin’ Up! has AMAZING ink pads that are a firm foam which makes a great stamp each and every time. If you can, I would purchase the ink pads as a collection as you will save money but I totally get that this might not be practical for many. I can remember when I first started I purchased them a la carte and then “caved in” as I would see a sample and did not have that color.
- Ink Refills – I HIGHLY suggest that you purchase a refill when you get an ink pad. They really do come in handy and trust me, there is nothing more frustrating to be in the middle of a project to find out that you need more coverage and you do not have the refill – it is worth its weigh in gold…again, it is more economical to purchase them them as a collection rather than a la carte…but always know, there are options for you to do what works for YOU!
Wow….I think that this has given you a lot to think about. Please feel free to email me if you have further questions or please leave a comment and I am sure that our great “cyber family” will be there to help you get the answer!
I might have “spotty internet” while I am away. I am excited to go and get to meet other Stampin’ Up! people…..John does not know 1 person….and I know 4 people…but hoping to meet a WHOLE BUNCH!
I promise to you that I will be a sponge and take it all in and share with you pictures….stories….and ideas! I must admit…I am a bit nervous about going as I am very happy at home. It has been funny…each one of the “peeps” have been in touch several times yesterday just “checking in” with questions like….you do have your passport….you do need to get converters for you phone and laptop….you do know where you are going one you get to Barcelona etc….
We are blessed to have peeps that I think are concerned about their parents being away like we are about to do! All 3 of them have traveled abroad and are very comfortable etc…they are just looking out for us – so John and I will be leaving Williamsport and we will be like 2 kids going to the circus!
This is the 1st time that John and I have been away together for this long….we have always said that once the peeps were through college, it was time for us – here is to our first venture! I cannot wait to make you feel like you are there with me…..I will keep you in the loop and share…share….share!
I will try to be a giraffe and spread my vision. I truly love what I do! 🙂
Safe travels! Have a great time!?
Will do ….will do – now we need to plan an outing for the 4 of us….I’ll travel your way to be able to spend time together….we will laugh, laugh and laugh……hugs!
Be safe, have fun, and LOVE EVERY MINUTE!!
Even being at the airport….I am lovin’ being with John….(he is happy as he just ate!!!)
Have a wonderful time soaking up as much as you can. I will look forward to your pictures and stories, plus sharing SU ideas.
You bet I will….you know me and being a sponge….I will share it with YOU ALL….my dear, wonderful & special cyber family

God bless you and John with safe travels. I can’t wait to see your pictures!!
You and me both! There was an option to participate in a card swap and a 3-D swap….you bet I signed up so get ready for even more inspiring pictures!
Be safe and make loads of fun memories! Can’t wait to see pics and hear all about your trip!
Will do…and if I see a sheep – I will get a picture. I will be missing my daily drive past the sheep by my house as this always reminds me of you…I should have brought sheep Rod Stewart with me!
I wanted to “Thank You” for the bookmark of “In” colors you included within my catalogue. I love the “Wish List” on the back. I have put mine to good use and am looking forward to June 1st. Enjoy your journey! It’s great that John is going with you.
I am soooooo glad that you liked it – I thought it would come in handy! Do you have a favorite color? I must admit that I am thrilled with the colors….Me too about June 1st….exciting times!
Have a great time. you work so hard for your family and your “cyber family”; you really deserve the trip. I’m looking forward to photos and reports. Barcelona is a fabulous city and I’m sure the rest will be wonderful too.
Awe…you made me smile. I feel very blessed. I cannot imagine what I am going to see…we are just over the top excited….2 country folk going to Barcelona….YIKES –
Have a wonderful time! Be safe, be happy, and be the sponge!!!!! ?
You’ve got it….called me “Sponge Susan” – I will take it all in and report back to my dear and wonderful cyber friends!
Have a great time, Susan!
I am certainly going to try…I already discovered something I forgot….BOOKS – I just ordered some from Amazon…oh well – I am sure when we get to the Atlanta Airport there will be a good book store!
You’re going to have a fabulous awe inspiring time together with your John?I’m so happy for you guys, how beautiful traveling the Mediterrean, a very well deserved trip for you! Love how your peeps are so concerned about momma and dad. So sweet. Great blog post, too! Enjoy and savor every moment!
Thanks Debbie…we are super excited – John has never taken this much time off of work since we have known each other! Here is a funny….Will….our oldest peep in Boston called and wanted to make sure that the “find my friends” was turned on – on our I Phone…..he said that this way if we got lost…he could at least let someone know what country we are in!!!!!
How about that for concern…it made me a bit weary…but then he said to me that he was using our trip as an experiment for hims kids (he is a teacher) so they can track Mr. Will’s Mom & Dad!!!
This is perfect timing for both of you to just get away and have a great time. I have been out of the loop about this cruise – is Brian King going? I would love to hear what John thinks about him! He, alone, would be fun entertainment. Mike and I have really never been on a good vacation together other than going back to Iowa when we lived in Houston and long weekends. Yet, we have been on many adventures apart. Enough about me, go have some fun and make wonderful memories!
Wish lists, don’t do as I do – I am constantly putting my wishes on sticky notes thinking that I will transfer them to one big list. I found a note yesterday from 4 years ago that I never bought. Plus, my other thing is if I wanted to CASE something and needed to buy the set or something – I need to put on the master wish list what I wanted to do with such or refer to someone’s blog of such and such date and the project. One would think I have plenty of time now to get my act together but I found myself with little sticky notes last night again. Geesh. Well, I have to finish up a B-day card – it is really all done but I want to change a balloon on it but I have to get it in the mail today! Have a great weekend everyone.
Hello my friend! We are sitting at the airport ready to head to Atlanta and then to Barcelona. I am super sad as Brian will not be able to come. Naturally he earned the trip but was not able to come. I text him yesterday saying that it wasn’t going to be the same without him…he is a TOTAL HOOT and I adore him! Great news…I will be able to get my Brain fill in the fall as Atlanta is a host city for On Stage….a bunch of pals are going!
Hi Susan! I am so proud of you for achieving this huge SU trip! I’m also excited that John and you will be able to get away with one another after such a hectic month (and tax season not in the too distant past for John). Here’s a quick update on me: I had a couple of setbacks a little over a week ago but I’ve been doing great now. I got all my bandages off yesterday, so I can talk again and my vision is no longer restricted. In fact, I was able to read your entire blog post for the first time tonight in just one sitting! Yay! It’s the little things, right!?! I have to admit, I have been really down but I can finally start to see the light at the end of this tunnel. I’m so grateful for all the thoughts and prayers that have been sent my way from this wonderful Stampin’ group…they’ve helped me get through each day, one hour at a time. Susan, have a WONDERFUL trip, you deserve it! Hugs to all my cyber friends. 🙂
I was on travel for work and not able to keep up with everything. I was wondering where your lovely email was each morning…so I checked here. Congratulations on earning this trip. I hope you and John have a wonderful time!
