Wow…many thanks for all of the A M A Z I N G comments that you all left yesterday! It is always such a treat to read your thoughts. Together we learn from each other, together we support each other and together we inspire each other! 🙂
Before we get to the card today, I am sure that many of you are wondering…DID I WIN???? DID I WIN??? Well, one thing for sure…someone did so let’s see who it is!
WOOT-WOOT to you Elizabeth and I agree…I AGREE!!!! Hang onto your hats when you see the new DSP…..we were only able to pre-order 3 of them but WOW – they are gorgeous and I do hope that you all are using up your DSP that you have because you are going to LOVE THE NEWBIES (yep, I will be doing a product share to give you a taste of it all without breaking the bank)
Now to the next part of your wonderful comment….we are one big happy family – my motto is….If it is not fun…why do it?!?! I have fun…and I love what I do so you all are stuck with me! 🙂 Thank you ALL – for your comments and Elizabeth, please email me with your address and I will send you your adhesives!
Today is a fun and festive card and I adore the color combination. I told you that I was going to use the other 2 new kids on the block – Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy. (they are BEAUTIFUL….don’t you think?????) Darn I just wish that I could share with you all of the new goodies in the catalog….but trust me, there are some fun stamps sets and bundles.
This stamp set, Swirly Bird is a very unique one….and yep, it comes as a bundle and you can see in the pictures below how fun and modern it is. You can see that today I made it super easy…but you betcha that it is one that you can really, really do some FUN things with.
You just cannot go wrong with laying white on white – never goes out of style…always looks so clean and crisp! Sometimes I feel like I do this over and over but it works – please do not stress yourself in feeling the need to always be trying a new style – I say, do what works and feels good to you!
Looking underneath the Dapper Denim piece – can you see that there is a stamped image…I stamped it off and then stamped it to give it a lighter feel. Layering is easy and it also gives a great sense of depth to your cards.
I did the same with the leaves and you can see that the difference then you stamp full strength….again, it gives instant depth.
To help break your eye from the too much white today, I did a simple scored lines across the top – just enough to give it balance. When I score lines like this, I prefer the Simply Scored Board over the scoring blade on the Stampin’ Trimmer….WHY? – I just think that it gives deeper lines which give a more dramatic effect. I know that having both tools are a bit “over kill” but honestly, they did not have the trimmer when I already had the Score Board.
You know that I am still sad but getting over it that the Envelope Liners are going bye-bye….so I am going to continue to give my envelopes some Susan FUN love….and hang on to your hats!
You are going to be super surprised in what I am going to say and share with you….In the NEW catalog…the offerings of Washi Tape are OVER THE TOP FUN! Seriuosly, I know that many of use that make clean and simple cards find it hard to work in washi tape….but here I did across the top of the envelope (p.s. – Mary Ann – you are going to be soooooo excited)
One more look and one more comment – I know that it is super hard to see and tomorrow I will try to get a closer picture for you but I took a blender pen to the leaves in the sentiment to blend it a bit – a super easy thing to do and it gives a soft effect.
This sentiment is from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set and I am thrilled that it is being carried over. This is one that has an amazing variety of sentiments….perfect for both the inside and the card front! (I love sets like this)
In closing I thank you. I do love what I do and I feel very blessed to be able to share coffee, laughs, learning together and just sharing LIFE. This is soooo much more than making cards and I hope that you can embrace that.
There is nothing like going to your mailbox and seeing some love from a friend in a card. I think as I get older I truly appreciate and do my best to keep life simple….to me, the simple things are so powerful and fulfilling. I find myself with this internal struggle of having to do…and do …and do – but when I create and I am just enjoying the simplicity of doing what we do….I smile. 🙂
Thank you for being you and popping in to see SIMPLE me! I hope to see you back tomorrow…as I will step it up, a bit!
p.s. – Isn’t John the best!?!? I was so touched to have him leave a comment. Please know that he is in awe of ALL OF US…he truly thinks that this whole fun thing we do…is amazing!

Good Morning Susan, Well isn’t this the cutest card! The colors and the swirls just make you smile. I MAY become a fan of washi tape!!!
🙂
YOU make me smile! I just know that this bundle will be a fun one for so many cards…and the new washi tapes – can you say FUN!
Dear Susan, I love your card. It is a fun card that made me smile. I agree with Nancy, I may have to become a fan of washi tape. It adds a little sweet touch to the cards. Have a great day. Enjoy your stamping day. Thank you always for inspiring all of us. Ellen Hinds
Hello dear Ellen….I am glad that I made you smile…mission accomplished…the little oomph that it adds – is just the right touch!
Congrats Elizabeth! This is definitely a fun and unique card. The colors are so pretty together and, like the others, washi tape is in my future!
YEAH for you …try it – I am sure with your endless talent that you will come up with some AMAZING washi tape cards!!!! Hugs!!!
Fun idea for washi tape! How sweet of John….wouldn’t it have been funny if he was the blog candy winner!?! Has he ever asked for or snuck into your stash to make a card??
John is a sweetie….YES – he has sneaked up here to make me a card before and when he has given it to me he always says…..I do not know how you do it!!!! He does often ask me – “Don’t you have a gadget up there to do this…..” and I also make him cards for him to have a stash at his office for when he needs to send a client a card….he is a true blue – blind date keeper!
I adore this card!!!!! Congrats to Elizabeth!!! I agree, Susan, I like the white on white a lot and the new colors are wonderful!!!!! You didn’t tell us what your favorite new colors are!!!!!! Color me curious!!!!!?
Color me curious – I LOVE THAT!!!! You are right, I did forget to tell you all…this is hard because they all are great. I would say Emerald Envy but also I adore the Flirty Flamingo and Dapper Denim….oh no – too many decisions!!!!
Cute, cute card, Susan. I like the swirly, artsy look a lot with your scored lines and great sentiment. I have not been a fan of washi tape, although I have quite a stash. I can’t wait to be inspired by you to find various ways of using it. Have a great day!
I hear you …I hear you – I would suggest that even trying it in the way I did today….just on the envelope is a great 1st step – I know that many of us have the product and do not use it – in the new catalog the offerings are SOOOOO fun and bright!!!! I will put my thinking cap on and continue to inspire you guys! Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment!
Your card is perfect! I am so intrigued by this stamp set and framelits, it’s on my pre-order. You have started my mojo by making this card. Thanks for the inspiration. I adore what you did!
YEAH – I am glad to help jump start your mojo – please share with me some of the things you come up with! I think that this is going to be a very versatile stamp set.
Hi, Susan BEAUTIFUL card and color combo. Can you tell me what stamp set the greeting is from? Thanks!
Yes…and I am sorry that I forgot to put that int he supplies (Silly Susan) – it is Suite Sayings. Great sentiment stamp set and it is carried over in the new catalog. Thanks for popping in!
Going around in swirls, boogaloo – oh, sorry it is circles not swirls in the song. But, I am doing the happy dance because my wish was to have the swirly stuff like what came as a gold swirly thing in a recent Paper Pumpkin kit. So, this looks pretty darn similar and lots of fun to play with. I am not sure what to do with the triangles and what the bird has to do with the swirly things but hey it is new and I am sure someone has it figured out. I could see the Road Runner as in the Bugs Bunny cartoons with the swirl of dust they create when chasing. Anyway, love the card for the fun swirls and the new colors. Great job and how to step it up a notch?
You are sooooo right – I was trying to think where did I see the swirls before….yep – Paper Pumpkin Kit!!!! The Road Runner made me laugh – he drove me NUTS always being so fast and annoying! I hope that you are feeling better…..
Cute card today Susan. I’m liking the new colors a lot. Hope you have a great Mother’s Day!
I am lovin’ them – I know that it hard to “feel the love” until you have them in your “paws” but they are luscious. I will be maiing your catalog to you this week and I am including a piece of each color!
Oh my I’ve recently purchased these items and I’m looking at doing some simply elegant cards, your masterpiece is truly inspirational thankyou. ?
