Happy Monday! Here are some more great ideas from the card swap that we had! If you do not see your card here today...PLEASE do not worry – I will be doing more days on the fabulous works of art that you all created.
Please know in my heart that I am super PROUD of each of you and if you only see one picture of your card, please do not think that I do not think it is special – as it IS….there are some cards that speak for themselves and then there are others that I feel you benefit from other angles! ?
Card #1 – This card is simply elegant! I love all of the tones and textures it gives – The shading really gives great depth and the use of the banners creates a great interest. Susan tore the edge of the focal panel and then lightly sponged it….I forget about doing this…but you can see that the end result is so effective. I am a big button fan…I know that they can be a pain to mail, but I love the effect.
Card #2 – COLOR TO THE MAX! I love a card like this as it just brings an instant smile to your face. Having fun using all sorts of colors is also fun…This would be a great layout to do and make many of and then add the sentiment when needed…the POP up of the one flower gave the card a perfect added touch! Fun card!
Card #3 – This card is a “layout keeper” and one that I call a “formula” for future cards. Robyn’s balance is spot on and if you look at the second picture closely – you can see the details that Robyn added with the scoring – a gal after my own heart! 🙂 The pop up with the “hello” along side of the double banner is perfect balance – I encourage you to try this layout…I am sure that you have lots of stamps and fun paper to use!
Card #4 – Karen and Robyn (above card) are stampin’ buddies….look at this card and then also look above again at Robyn’s and you can see a great example of how you can take DSP…and make it work with a FUN card! Love the way the banners are overlapped with the stripes going the same way! This is something that I never do and you bet I will remember it! Also, look at the attention to detail that Karen did with the scoring…the DSP banners are even scored – brilliant!
Card #5 – Super Sweet! Here is another trio of panels….used in a different way to WOW – the card give a totally different feel! Now let’s chat about card 3,4 & 5 – these were made by whom I call my 3 Amiga’s! Robyn, Karen and Sharon are sisters/friends….and they make me happy each and every time I see their work! I am always so in awe with their talent and the friendship that they have…..the best! Getting back to the card – look how Sharon used so many shapes but the card to still so simple and clean. The other interest detail this card has is notice the banner us UNDER the white piece and then OVER the Blushing Bride circle…this creates an interest and adds a layer of dimension!
Card #6 – WAY TO GO Chris on this card! If you read my blog regularly that you all know who Chris R. from Iowa is s regular commenter and this is a super fun card! I am hoping that she will share with me the dimensions of this card and then I will re-create it with another stamp and do a post about it! When I pulled this beauty out of the envelope…an instant smile came to me – a fun Spring card! I fun puzzle that matches and the elements of the rectangles hanging over the edges is fun! (I hope that it is not too hard to re-create as you know me, I am simple!
Well….there you go – 6 beauties that strutted their stuff! Please feel free to leave some comments of WOOT-WOOTS for these designers. We still have more to come and I think that it is so fun to see every-ones different styles and techniques! One thing that we all do in life is to learn from one another! Doing these swaps are a fun way to learn from others that have the same love and passion that you have in making cards!
If you do not already have a file for you to keep ideas, I encourage you to do so. Did you know that on Pinterest that you can have a “secret board” that no one else will see but you? I honestly am not on Pinterest a bunch (as honestly, I would not get much else done) but I do have a board that I place cards in that I really like but simply do not have the time (at the time I see them) to really look at and take in….this way I can go back and see the specific element that interesting me….just a tip that works for me!
Tomorrow will be another batch of beauties for you….I hope that you all have enjoyed seeing other peoples work. It is so fun to see and I am so proud of each of you! Let’s all have a great week – I am having a huge date with paper and ribbon today….with product shares – I am in heaven as it gets me to know the new products better and as I work with them….you can bet that my mind is thinking…I could do this with a card!
Beautiful cards and so much talent! I love the card swaps and when you post them….gives everyone great ideas and inspiration!
Oh so many great ideas ! These cards are super packed with details that I love . Yes Susan , …ask Chris if she minds sharing the info on her card . I love to do these and this is a new one to try !
Fun card parade !!
Beautiful cards! Susan, thank you for sharing these! They are gorgeous… the layouts, the color coordination and papers…what a talented group of stampers…wow!
Oh, my goodness, what a bunch of beauties! I especially want to thank the “3 Amigas” for a fab design idea that will get me through a week when I HAVE to get a bunch of cards off to good homes. Thanks, ladies!
Love your work, Susan!! These cards reflect your teaching in a fantastic way. I was interested that you wanted measurements…so do I! I am new at this, so have never been able to find any measurements for your cards…Help.
This was awesome!!!!! Great cards ladies, and fun cards to case. Some serious talent showcased here! Thanks for doing this share, Susan. Love it!!!!
Great cards everyone! Question on the Sharon haster card banner how did she get the heart at the end of banner punched fussy cut it out? Thanks looks great
Great cards once again! It’s so fun to see the diversity of style that is out there. Thanks again, Susan, for hosting the swap. We hope everyone has a great week!
Love the layouts and stamping on the cards. I too want the dimensions of Chris’s card. The subtle shading on Susan’s card is so sweet. Tearing is a great way to make a simple edge. Will remember that. Don’t often use pink and blue together, but they are such a cheerful combination on Sheryl’s card. She has inspired me. How perfect that our 3 cards are being shared on Monday. The three of us Face Time on Mondays and chat while putting our spin on the Mojo Monday lay out.Our 3 cards were a Mojo challenge, but we were all at Sharon’s house in Portland when we made them. Needless to say lots of laughs and fun were included with the creating of these cards. Thanks Susan for hosting this share. I got a fabulous card in return and can’t wait to see it in the parade.
Beautiful cards. I love all the different designs and colors. So inspiring. (Something is going on with my computer as I am not getting your blog, or those of Mary Fish and Brian King since the return from your cruise. I’m missing “my friends” early in the morning. Ugh! I hope this bug gets worked out soon.) Have a wonderful week.
What another great parade of beauties. I love the 3 versions of the one technique. Love the colors of the flower card. The first card is just downright amazing! Looking forward to more parades so I can see who made the fun card I received. You will be I will be CASEing a lot!
Oh everyone is just too kind! My card is a simple one, honest! I had the one eye surgery and still couldn’t see things up close and didn’t know I could get the cheapo reading glasses to help so I wanted something fun and easy. I had pulled out the Paper Pumpkin kit, I think it is the Breast Cancer Awareness one, and decided if all else just make one of those cards if I couldn’t quite see the marks on the trimmer etc. I love the stamps from that set. I was procrastinating on the card and going through my E-mails and deleting them. Well, I came upon Gina K. Designs post from 4/20/16 and there was this card with a video and all the measurements. I had always wanted to try the Triple Panel Stamping Technique but was always intimidated by it and never even tried it – just admired everyone else’s card. I watched her video and thought, well, heck the layers are wonky and she colored it so fast and out of the lines sometimes THIS IS IT! The PP stamp set of flowers would work and I could use the aqua painter to color or just use markers which I decided to use. I even had so much fun that I flipped the pieces over and they are stamped on both sides because I thought a couple of the flowers needed help. By now, you all know I have my issues with things going wrong. Well, the STAZ ON pad was pretty dry and I could not find my reinkers. For once, I was actually organized – I had put them all of them in a plastic box. Now, I could not find that darn plastic box. It also has my sponge daubers in it and a few other things. So, it is not just a little box. It even has a handle on it. (I just actually found the box last week and that is another story in itself! Mike had thrown something in the room and the pile sort of slid, well fell over, and so there was boxes on top of it as well as some sweatshirts he decided were too small and that maybe I wanted them,) Anyway, I had to find some black ink of some kind. The black craft pad was too dry too. But, I looked through the Paper Pumpkin boxes to see if there was one in there. I had also started putting those cubes with the reinkers so I hoped there was still one in a PP box. Sure enough there was and it worked. So, I used the Daffodil Delight marker so the ink wouldn’t run. I think the green was Old Olive and the centers were maybe Pumpkin Pie (that I am not sure of) Cutting the cardstock was a laugh as I had a magnifier out also hovering over the trimmer to help make sure I was at least close to the measurements! She has all the measurements and what SHE used before you play the video. Just plug in Gina K. Designs and then click on the stamp TV or maybe that comes up and hit videos and there is a search box – the full title is How to: Twisted Triple Panel Stamping Technique. I don’t even know if I have any of their products but all were adaptable to SU. I had fun making the card. Tip: Definitely use a little something sticky to adhere the panels together when you stamp and color. I used regular snail – a small touch of it will do and then used the glue eraser thing to rub it off. I do recommend watching the video to show how easy it is to do.
I hope the recipient liked the card as it was fun and simple to do. I will E-mail Susan this info and the measurements too, I printed the supplies right from her video with the measurements that were pretty tiny to read but I had my magnifier and I think she puts them on the video too which I wrote down as she made the card. It will be fun to see what Susan does with this technique.
Love Chris’ card! Good job on the beautiful triple layer. I love the way it is turned at angles instead of just straight. I see me CASEing you this time Chris! All the beauties are great, but this one really jumped out at me and then when I saw it was Chris’ card, it was like, I KNOW THAT GAL! 🙂
Thank you Donna! I swear I used Daffodil Delight on the flowers. But, maybe it is my screen to making them appear darker. It really blew my mind that the triple panel technique was so easy and tilting them just screamed this is you, try me!
I was the lucky recipient of Chris’ card and it is beautiful in person. Love it, love it, love it! It’s even more fun knowing where Pella IA is located. 🙂
So, glad you liked it. It was very fun to make and I loved using my Paper Pumpkin stamps. My memory is a bit fried with the heat today have we talked about Iowa in the past? I am originally from Burlington, Iowa. Oh, did it require extra postage? I asked the mailman who comes to my house and he thought it would go for 1 stamp. Let me know if needed more postage. I can’t wait to find out who made the card I received, it was stellar!
Hi, Chris. No, we’ve never chatted before but I’m from the Quad Cities and visited Pella during the Tulip Festival. Now live in Tennessee. Again, loved the card. Thanks.
Everyone of these cards are so pretty. I can’t pick one favorite out of all of these. I do have to say the card Chris made does catch my eye because of all the different shapes.
Good job ladies, thank you susan for showing all these cards to us.
Chris if you have the measurements off the top of your head I sure would love to see it posted here.
Lora
I always love a parade! Beautiful cards everyone. Chris R thanks for posting the site and directions. I think the yellow and black are very striking. I have a file on my computer that I keep some favorites in, like a Pinterest Board. I go to this file when I need a little idea. Like Susan said, I’d be lost for hours on the internet Pinterest, trust me it has happened. Poof!
Susan thanks for all your hard work in sharing your blog with us. Also, sorry I didn’t get to see this or comment yesterday.
🙂
Just catching up from a busy weekend. All these cards are beauties for sure! Thank you, Karen for your pretty card. There are so many interesting details and they all work so perfectly together. Thanks once again, Susan for organizing a fun swap…you are the best!

Thanks Lora for attaching the link. I forget to do that and sometimes I just forget how to add it to start with. I am so glad so many people liked it. It was a great boost to my ego and card making ability.
