It is wonderful to have a card that you can use all year long…perhaps change the color combination to reflect the time of year or change the colors to reflect the recipients personality!
Today, the color palette that I am using is a “SMILE” card for my dear Hannah…..I thought that she would enjoy a card from Mom and I knew that these colors would make her smile! 🙂 How can you not like this trio together: So Saffron, Pool Party & Watermelon Wonder!
The star of this sweet card is the Thoughtful Card is from the below bundle and YES, I would get the bundle to save the instant 10%. I think that one thing we all agree on is…WE LOVE OUR BUNCHES!!!
Envelope love is a true love for me and today with the help of the envelope punch board and the Subtles DSP Stack a simple and fun envelope was created. Trust me, once you get into the habit of making envelopes and also decorating your envelopes ~ you will never go back!
I say this for 2 reasons:
- It is super easy to do
- You will be proud of yourself, you will have that “inner glow” when the recipient is WOWED by your efforts!
Here is your 411 for now or for later….your choice! Again, create a file so you can easily go back and CASE away! Have fun with different colors. This would be a perfect Valentines Day Card and I will say….the thin stamp in this set can be used as a filler for many cards that we make and it would also be a great builder to do a plaid theme!
Remember that we are in the full swing of the Bonus Days…..“buy now…spend later” works for me!!!! I am loving’ having a “kitty” to spend in August. I know many of you are eyeing up that amazing bundle….(remember, that is just for a limited time)
Stay cool….please check on friends and neighbors if they are elderly and don’t forget your animals…..they too need to be comforted! I know that I will be up riding Oscar before 8 a.m. – it just gets too hot!
See you tomorrow….you will love it!
Great card today, Susan. Hannah will love receiving it. I love the colors and the simple but effective design. Have a great day!
You are so right, this is such a simple card to make with endless possibilities! WOOT-WOOT….I love it when this happens!
Hi Susan, How is Hannah adjusting to her new job? What an exciting time of life! I am sure she will love this card, as is is from Mom. Oh, but anyone would love this card too. I love your colors and the simplicity of the layout! Super Susan!
🙂
Hello my dear friend! Thanks for popping in….Hannah is doing great and loving her job. I think the one thing that is hard on her is…when the day is over…she doesn’t want to leave. She is always so use to working hard and harder and still harder and now that she is a salary “worker bee” she finds it frustrating that she cannot stay in the lab and work! She’s a great gal!
Love your color combo ! This is such a sweet and thoughtful card and your Hannah will love it !
Loved your Cardstock Tips yesterday and I must add what a helper your CS on a Ring is to me . Just thought I would add that extra tip !!
Hi Sonny….I hope that you are staying comfortable – Hannah says that NC is sooooo hot! I know she will love the card and thanks for the shout out of the cardstock on a ring….another popular share!!!! I will do it again!!!
Hannah will love receiving this surprise in the mail! The colors are so soft and “loving” and the design is simplistic and soothing (I feel very descriptive today…lol). Stay cool and enjoy the day.
You are just being a descriptive farmer today! This was a super fun card to make and it would be great making “plaids”! Hugs!
Honestly, my first thought was, “Now why didn’t I think of that?!” This is a great card, and especially helpful to someone who needs to do a “bunch” of cards in not a lot of time. I see it as kind of a “formula” card: a basic layout & change up the centerpiece. Susan, you’ve made my day! Thanks!
I know why you did not think of that….because you are the “queen” of using DSP and when I see your beauties….I say the same thing, “why didn’t I think of that” Many thanks for YOU making my day!
I wondered how you made the background and then noticed the bar in the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. Those are the things I miss when I am looking at the stamps. Great card! It’s time for me to send another card to my daughter and now I have the perfect idea! Thanks Susan!!!
YEAH….I am so glad that there are others out there that have a hard time when looking at a stamp set….I might be SIMPLE Susan but many times I feel like I am a SLOW Susan….the lightbulb sometimes does not come on the 1st try!
Ah gee, now I gotta start saving my strips again so I can make lots of these cards. Yesterday, I was trimming a couple of cards and actually threw away 4 strips of vanilla and 4 of a green. I was trying to decide on what size of mats etc. At least Mike was happy as he saw the pieces in the waste basket and not kept. Now, I gotta find another hiding place for the tiny scraps. Ummm, he has been in my closet lately – he throws his sweatshirts etc in my closet thinking since he has outgrown them I can wear them I guess. He saw an old plastic bin of my first bunches of stamps I purchased in there. At least he didn’t throw it out! The underwear drawer, nope, he has threatened to throw my skivvies, as he calls them, away since I have holes in several pairs.
Oh, forgot to comment on the card,.. it is so fun and so doable in all colors for all occasions. I can even see Christmas cards in reds and greens. Use circles, squares, triangles, or whatever shape if you don’t have the hearts . Throw in strips of ribbon or Washi tape and have fun. Of course you could take a larger scrap and cut it in strips too. A feel good card as you can have fun with it and use up scraps. Works for me! I bet Hannah will like it especially since you made it. I think I might make a couple today – just because I can!
I want to come to Iowa and spend a day with you and Mike…..WOW, we would have fun!!!! I do think that this card would be super sweet with a variety of shapes etc….I know that Hannah will love it!
How sweet your card is today! Great color combinations and so simple, but with great style. I love the little “grunge” accents on the hearts…just a little extra without being intrusive. I’m putting the bundle you used on my wish list. I’m sure Hannah will love it! Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for the comment and I will say, every time I use that “grunge stamp”I think of how I did not care for it out of the gate…but I agree….it is a wonderful accent!
Computer is partially fixed…can you tell? Question – does anyone have the little diamond shaped boxes they don’t want from the July Paper Pumpkin? I don’t need anything else like the twine or the tags or the stamp set – Just the boxes. I thought I had some cardstock that would work to make more and it just was not working – one was too thick and the other too thin. I kind of want to keep them alike – they can fight over the sizes. I plan on taking them to the police station as a thank you filled with treats. I am using the stamp set to make some fun blingy tags to add a little sparkle to their day. One kind police officer and the dispatcher helped Teddy and I one hot day last month when we were locked out of the house. We walked to the police station and the dispatcher gave Teddy some water and a belly rub. The kind officer used all the credit cards in his wallet to spring the lock on our door – the last one his ATM card was the winning card. Also, in light of all the stuff going on, I thought a little thank you for their service would be a fun little surprise. I was going to do cookies but then you have to deal with the gluten free thing and nuts vs. no nuts so this will work better! I will check back tomorrow to see if anyone doesn’t need or want theirs. Thanks everyone.
You are too much and you are so sweet! I love that story about the Police helping you….it warmed my heart that there are “good things” that still happen out there!
I sent you an email and I will send you some of these boxes…I think that you are super for taking them as a thank you for the local police! Way to go….SHARE HANDMADE KINDNESS!!!!
