Good Morning! Here is a super sweet and super easy thank you card for you! My inspiration came from the catalog (on page 48) – I highly encourage you to look at the samples that are in the catalog as they are total keepers!!!!
Before we get to the card, remember that TODAY is that LAST day that you will earn DOUBLE PAW PRINTS from me….remember, the Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days are all this month and I always have my Paw Print Rewards for you..but I know that having DOUBLE PAW PRINTS will greatly add to you receiving FREE STAMPS from me!
Today is also a PPA day and we are working with a color challenge! Today’s challenge was inspired from the super sweet Katy McGloin. In being a PAL, we have such special relationships that we build through a cyber world and Katy is always so inspiring and helpful!
The below bundle has been super popular and by taking a look at it, you can easily see why! The thinlits are soooooo beautiful and detailed and I highly recommend using the precision platform when using these thinlits (they come out clean, crisp and CUT) and then look at the sentiments in this set – FABULOUS!
One word of wisdom that I learned from my wonderful upline, Mary Fish….when in doubt – go with the sentiment stamp set. This is something that I remember often if I am looking at deciding on 2 different stamp sets…this is very true when you look at the below bundle.
In creating this card for you today, I decided to add a 3rd color, Flirty Flamingo to add more interest and depth! You can see that this is a very straight forward card, nothing fancy or hard but the end result is a great “go to” layout that by changing the colors and sentiment up…you are GOOD TO GO!
I admit, when I first started stamping and getting to know the Stampin’ up! colors…I thought that Sahara Sand was ICKY.….how wrong I was – it is a FABULOUS neutral that works with just about any color combination. If you have not played with it, I encourage you to give it a try!
The embossing folder that I used was a new one, Sparkle….and it is one that can work all year around! I often say that I forget about embossing folders and I am glad that I added it to today’s card as it adds a “fun factor”
This was an easy no brainer for me, when I need to find a great paper to work for my card…my motto, when in doubt – pull the DSP Stacks out! Works every time and today is no different.
We are so lucky that Stampin’ Up! offers these great papers in all of the color families. This has always been a popular paper share when I am offering them so I encourage you to take advantage of this share the next time I have a share!
Lastly, the marked up version for you to save for the future. I think that you can see that this would be a card that you could put to good use. One thing that I would recommend, make up a bunch of these and do not add the sentiment to it so when you need a card, you can then add…thank you, happy birthday, with sympathy etc….I just love cards like this!
Enjoy the day and stay cool…I hope that you will try to play with these colors and see what you come up with! Pop over to the Pals Paper Art sight to see what the design team cam up with this week! They are always filled with inspiration!
Don’t forget, today is the last day that I am offering the Double Paw Prints…“twice as fast” would work for me – how about you!

Love the layout of this card and the colors look so nice together. The dots around the thank you add that special touch which always looks great! Good job! Have a cool day!
You know me….dots and dashed make me happy!
Love your card, Susan. The thank you panel against the embossed panel really stands out! So glad you don’t think Sahara Sand is icky anymore. It took me awhile too but the lovely ribbon that retired this year convinced me! Thanks so much for playing along with my color challenge this week!!
Oh Katy…THANK YOU for this great color combo! Sahara Sand is my friend now and forever!
The catalog states that precision plate is “required” for this die set but I had my doubts and decided to try it before spending $25 for the precision plate. I always RUB my thinlit dies with a dryer sheet before placing on the paper. You don’t have to put the dryer sheet in the sandwich, just rub the die with it. I used the magnetic platform – no problem. Just a couple of passes with the die brush and viola! So I suggest, if you get good clean cuts with other dies, I don’t think it is necessary to buy the precision plate for the flourish thinlits.
Great comment and I too use to use the dryer sheets etc….and it worked for me most of the time but I will say that I am head over heels with this precision plate. I too thought, do I really need to but something else? After I did purchase it, I was very happy as it by far gives me a cleaner and easier cut. Along with the Die Cut brush – BINGO….super easy!
The other day I cut out over 125 of a die from this bundle and I will say, I said MANY times….I am sooooooo glad that I had the precision plate but I TOTALLY hear you and AGREE….if you have something that works for YOU…than stick with it!!!!
Such a beautiful card to compliment the stamp set and dies.
I have noticed your photos of your cards are blurry. When having some work done on my computer recently a young lady came in with her phone and said her friends kept saying her Smart phone photos were blurry. They fixed it in an hour. Just saying!
Thanks for all your tips and samples. Yours is my go to blog each morning.
Hi Doris….I am glad that you left this comment as I have had others email me about this. I have changed my editing software but are you clicking on the header of Simple Stampin’ when you open up your emails from me?
On my end, the pictures are clean and crisp but some just look at the initially post that pops up….try clicking on the header and then it will redirect you to my actually blog post for the day….I am going to ask my wonderful “blog helper” to better explain this to me so in turn I cam communicate it easier to you all.
You all know that I am super picky about my pictures, so I do appreciate the feedback!
Love this card with the small flourish. The color combo works great, but is not one I would have thought worked. Have a great day!
I really like to use the “smaller” ones in this type of fashion…try it, I think that you will like it. Also, smaller ones are great to snip off and tuck to the side of a larger one for extra depth and interest.
I like to use the catalog to get inspired too! This is a wonderful pattern to keep for use again. I haven’t had any blurry pictures, Susan. Keep up the great blog entries……so enjoy it!!!!
What a sweet card, Susan. I love the colors. Thanks for sharing.
Flourish the thought! Hey, I have been out in the sun with Paul (the Minion) Bunyon working on the tree. He even has his gold T-shirt on today with his denim overalls. The color combo works well and one I wouldn’t have thought of but then again I don’t have these colors yet. I really like that embossing folder too. I wish I could get everything to work like you do! Off to see what the other Pals did.
YOU are PRICELESS…I have a mental image of the 2 of you! I hope that you checked out what the other PALS did, the cards ROCKED! Go help your Minion Man!!!!
Very nice use of the colors. Love it.
I usually am so predictable in my color choices….I thought that an extra color was needed and I liked the trio of colors…it is fun to stretch yourself to use a color combo that you normally would not have used!
Love your card today. The card from the catalog that inspired your project today also caught my eye as soon as I saw it…I guess great minds think alike. The dies included in this bundle are great! I can’t wait to use them this Fall. Hope your day was great!
I always look at the great samples that are in the catalog for inspiration! This one was an instant – I need to make it!!!
P.S. The pics aren’t blurry on my end either.
The card in the catalog is what sold me on this set too!!! Such a clean and simple card that can be used for many occasions. You did a beautiful job with yours as well….you know how I love those embossing folders!
Hello my friend…I must say, when I made this card I said to myself….this is a JEANIE card as it is right up your alley! You were the one that taught me to leave sentiments off and have a variety of them to use, WHEN YOU NEED THEM! Thanks for the lesson….we always can lean from one another!
This is wonderful! I love your harmonious composition. The background embossing folder is fabulous.
Many thanks for the comment, I agree with you….there seems to be a comfort factor to this bundle…a bundle for soooo many cards themes we can make. As I always say, I forget to use the embossing folder but I am so glad I do (when I remember) as they do add such a level of interest and depth!
Susan, once again you have done a fairly simple but stunning card. I love how the cut pieces are layered instead of just spread out.
Oh Lynn…many thanks for popping in and I am happy that you like the card! I am not a flower arranger in person (a wonderful trait that my Mom had) but these are FUN to arrange! I think the key is the fact that there are so many great shapes that create an interest and then….with the help of a simple dimensional – WOW an easy POP!
I so love this! This is one of the many bundles on my wish list. I got to try out my friend’s precision plate and my faked out version for ornate dies. Definitely you want the precision plate.
hmmmm….did it not cut through? Next Tuesday I am focusing on the Big Shot!
Susan, I agree with you about Sahara Sand, but now I love it! Great use of this bundle. I always love your faux stitching, it is such a nice touch! Thanks for playing with us this week for the color challenge!
Thanks Peggy – so glad to hear that someone else was on the Sahara Sand boat!Love the color combo this week!
