O.k. – does this silly guy just make a smile come to your face! ๐ There is just something about his expression that cracks me up! He looks like he just wants to say, HELLO – what’s your name….my name is Llama, Mr. Llama but you can just call me Llama!
I am super excited for this 2 day post for you all….but you need to pop back tomorrow to see something that will really make you smile….probably – BURST out laughing….so I warn you, no coffee in your mouth when you click on my blog tomorrow!
The ideas are ENDLESS for this simple card! Because this comes as a bundle it means 2 things:
- You will save an instant 10%
- It has framelits….so just crank Mr. Llama through Mr. Big Shot and PRESTO – he is a hunk!
Today I chose to use the DSP, Festive Birthday which actually is shown with this bundle on page 11in the Annual Catalog. The little bit of “paper piecing” I did was super simple. I stamped the blanket for Mr. Llama and then cut it out (the great thing is….the fringe is already on Llama so all you have to do is “green glue” the rectangle) and then for the festive banner, a simple snip in 2 areas to again, green glue down!
Let’s chat about the sentiment! I am not a huge fan of inking up with markers the area that you want to stamp (but trust me, there are times that YOU JUST HAVE TO DO THAT) but for today I just masked off the words that I did not want expose….STAMPED…and then reversed it to get the next color. I find using a very “low tack” masking tape works great! (you can buy that in the painting section of Lowes/Home Depot etc…)
To give “Mr. Llama” some ground, a quick swish of the aqua painter and Sahara Sand is all that was needed – super fast, super easy…..super effective!
If you received this…You would first LOVE the festive envelope but then when you slid “Mr. Llama” out – you would cherish it! I think he looks quite handsome with his dapper envelope!
Here is your 411, Directory Assistance photo for you to pin! (do you remember when we used 411 all of the time to get a phone number…..way before computers!!!!) ๐
I am just LOVIN’ that so many of you are being smart stampers and taking advantage of the limited edition Thoughtful Branches Stamp Bundle that I have been showcasing a bunch! Many thanks for your kind comments yesterday…and I will say, even though it is a limited edition, it is a classic that you will use for years to come!
I can’t wait to see you tomorrow….I hope that I am right that you are going to smile – LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!!!
Mr Lama, the ‘hunk’, is adorable! You definitely made me laugh this morning. I will be very careful with the coffee tomorrow morning!
What a fashion statement to have your blanket match your envelope !
So cute !
Mr. Llama is absolutely adorable! I have this set & ordering the DSP {must have overlooked to do that, oy vey!} Your card & envelope are “hunk-a-dorable”!!
I wasn’t drawn to this set initially but the more I see it the more I am reconsidering. You made a great card here…..I love the streamer done in two tones….sometimes I just don’t see outside the box!!!! Looking forward to tomorrow’s card!!!!
Cute card! It was the two toned streamer that caught me eye and then of course the goofy grin on that llama. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for tomorrow.
I am agreeing with the others about the streamer. I am still trying to figure out llamas and cacti and how they go together lol. I am thinking the llama is the piรฑata and is associated with being festive??? I laughed when you mentioned turning the llama into a hunk! Looking forward to the next post (well a bit more than normally!)
Very cute card but I can’t call him Mr. Llama or just llama! This guy has a personality – just look at that face – he deserves better. Since it is not my birthday, maybe we need a contest to name the llama and Susan can send one of the cards to the winner. Well, Susan you didn’t say who this sweet card is for so I am just assuming it wasn’t going to anyone special. Or, you even have the card from tomorrow that could go to the winner. Just saying….
I will start off with some names. Larry was an obvious choice for some reason. Liam is on the updated baby list so that would work. Lew (Lewis) was a friend of my parents. Luis is Hispanic friend’s uncle. Lou or Louis is the English version. Luna is sort of cute. Now, I like Lucas so we could call him Luke too. Lester, Leslie, or Les? Then we have Luigi. We could always go with Lucky. I am partial to Lenny, a character off of one of Mike’s favorite shows, Law and Order. I guess the proper name would be Leonard or Leonardo. We could mix in some Cajun and call him Landry. If we want to continue with the hunk mode – Hank would work.
Gee, one would think I have too much time on my hands…
Reading the above post, I vote for Liam the Llama, only it should be Lliaim the Llama.
Also, I want to know if you stalk my brain. I don’t recommend it if you do. It’s a dangerous place in there. Just yesterday I was wondering if you had this set and had made any cards with it. And here you are!
BTW, I love it and Lliam the Llama is on my wish list for sure. I’ll need that DP to go with him as well, even though I’m not supposed to buy more paper.
That Llama is so cute!! I cannot wait to see tomorrow’s post. I usually do sit with my coffee and check it out, so thanks for the disclaimer ๐
So adorable and I love the matching blanket and envelope! Chris R. you had me in stitches! Love the name Larry the Llama! Can’t wait for tomorrow.
The matching blanket and envelop was the first thing Caleb noticed. The llama’s grin/smile make me laugh every time I see him. I didn’t think i needed to buy this set but I am slowly being convinced by all the adorable samples. We can’t wait to see tomorrow’s version!! Thanks for the forewarning about the coffee. Happy Saturday! Hugs. ๐
Oh, I forgot about Lance or Lars. Do they even have llamas in Minnesota? I am reading a book and one of the character’s name is Lars. Also, Leo is in another book I am reading. Otherwise, it looks like we have one vote for Larry and one for Lliam, however, we spell it! Yes, I do lay awake thinking of things like this!
I think Chris used up all the “L” names! LOL
I think no matter his name, I definitely think it has to be spelled with 2 Ls because that just makes it all the funnier!
I think this 2 day post has had some of the BEST comments ๐
Oops, this was supposed to be on Sunday’s post….
