Good Morning! I am doing the happy dance as I think that this is one super cute card! I will say, it does not do it justice in the photos so once again, I wish we were all together to ooh and ahh over this fun and festive card.
Today is a color PPA challenge and what a fun palette we have to work with! Peggy Noe came up with this color combination and if you are not familiar with Peggy, you need to as she is one super stamper!
Here is the “JOLLY” bundle and you have to admit….it is super whimsical and fun! Darn, there just never seems to be enough time to stamp all that we want to but you bet that I will be playing with this super fun set a bunch more – heck – it is still September…….and it was almost 90 degrees today!
Do you remember earlier this week I shared with you a card that used the 1″ punch? Click here to see it and guess what – when I checked last night…it is still on the clearance rack…WOOT-WOOT and it truly makes it so much easier to go punch, punch, punch and have the exact same size each and every time! I built the FUN squares of color on a piece of paper and than ran it through the Big Shot!
Look below….do you own this framelit? I bet that many of you do not as I truly think it is overlooked in the catalog. I will say that I have used this a BUNCH and it is one that has great shapes for sentiments and also the larger ones are great for an image like I did today! (It is one of those secret weapons that I like to refer to)
Now this below picture is one that we can do a bunch of chatting about the in’s and out’s of this festive card! I really….really did not want to use flowers with this color palette so OUT OF THE BOX I went!
- The base is an A-2 vertical card in whisper white.
- The Flirty Flamingo DSP Stripe Paper….(remember – that is in my Product Share) is 4″ X 5 1/2″
- The Emerald Envy rectangle is 2″ X 4 3/4″ and then run through the Big Shot with the Sparkle Embossing Folder (love the texture it gives)
- The 1″ square pieces were built on a piece of white paper 4 wide and 5 high and then ran through the Big Shot with the above framelit
- The Moose…the dear Moose….pretty straight forward with this – so darn cute! I added a little wink of stella to the end of the hat and the brim 🙂
- A quick chat about the FUN on the squares….HOW???? – easy, I stamped the dear little images that are in this stamp set with Versa Mark – I love the effect!
Now we still have some more chatting to do…..let’s look at these precious little mice – adorable……right? I just love their expressions on their little faces! I used the sentiment for our card today – you WILL be seeing these guys…..a bunch! I just stamp the sentiment on a scrap and then used my scissors to make a banner cut!
I know that this below picture looks like “one hot mess” but hopefully it will be helpful for you! He is just the cutest and it will be fun to dress him up! Today he is ready for Peggy’s challenge!
Enjoy the day…..here is a clip from our local newspaper about the dear sweet boy that we all have been praying for….what a great young man, what a great family….this week he has had a wee set back of fatigue…..all in all – it is a miracle that this was caught and he is sooooo blessed.
What a cute card, Susan. I love the 1″ square punch to make it easy. Great job with the color challenge. What a sweet story about Joe. Too bad he had a setback, but it’s great he got to the game. I’m sure that lifted his spirits. He and his family remain in my thoughts and prayers and I look forward to your updates as he progresses. Have a great day.
YEAH …..another square punch lover! I guess it really is HIP TO BE SQUARE!!!! Thanks for popping in and also keeping the Georges in your thoughts and prayers!
Thank you for the story on Joe George, Susan. I’ve prayed for him several times; prayer is powerful, especially in numbers! So glad for his progress. I know he had a bit of a setback, but it’s still amazing this was caught at the right moment. Blessings to him and his family~
Thank you…thank you. This young man has sure had the numbers of prayers but when you see him – he beams with joy….I did tell the family that everyone would like to see a video of the dog on the trampoline – it is a HOOT!
What a wonderful, uplifting story on Joe! He has so many people caring and praying for him. This will help make him stronger every day. Sending hugs and prayers to him and his family. Your card is adorable and you rocked the color combo!
It was a great article. This whole family is loved by so many. It is great to see and witness the power of a community coming together to help and pray. There is soooo much negativity out there in the world, it is great to hear a “good story” – so glad you liked Miss Moose…..maybe she could flirt with your sheep!
Oh my gosh, Susan, this card is absolutely adorable!! I would have never thought of using these colors for a Cheistmas card it you completely pulled it off. Thank you for sharing the newspaper link for Joe, he is in our thoughts and prayers.
Hello Tricia….well – did Caleb see Miss Moose? I bet he thought it was too “girly” – Give him a big hug from me….thanks for keeping Joe in your thoughts! The power of many moves….he is blessed!
Hi Susan, What a surprise! Very bright, busy and abstract. Moose-y looks so great!
Great story on Joe. Thank God for his continued recovery.
🙂
Thanks Nancy….I can feel the thoughts and prayers heading south from New York – you are the best!
Great article on Joe ! Thank you for sharing .
What great colors to surround this “Flirty Moose ” ! Your card is registering high on the “sweet and cute” meter !!
Love it (course I am a “squares lover as is ” ) Also like the Versa Mark addition .
I LOVE it – a FLIRTY MOOSE….squares are soooo fun and soooo easy to work with! When in doubt – pull the squares out!
Thanks for sending 2 smiles out today. Your wonderful news story and adorable moose card. So glad that Joe”s recovery is coming along well.
Hi Robyn…making you smile….makes me smile! Thanks for your comment and popping in to see my MOOSE!
I love this card! I agree with you on the framelits. I use the smaller rectangle a lot to cut the center of my card base layers to save to use on other projects.
YEAH – I am glad that you have it and find it useful – I think that it is overlooked but I agree – super useful!
Super cute card! You eye for details really make it special!!! Enjoyed the article for Joe. Sorry for the setback, continued prayers for his health and recovery.
Happy fall everyone!!!???
The card is a bit different for me but if you could see it in person…SUPER CUTE! Thanks for your prayers…he is such a go-getter…..he needs to let his body except the changes – when you think if it – AMAZING at what the doctors can do….he is blessed!
I like the patchwork look to this. It makes me think of a warm winter blanket.
I agree….I like the versa mark touches….It would be a pretty blanket but with how hot it is here…..no blankets needed!!!!
Sweet card today and an even sweeter story about Joe. I’m so happy to hear of his great recovery and how his team supports him. He is one lucky kid!
He IS one lucky young man and he is a super sweet young man! Talk about a catch when he grows up….so sweet and kind.
Oh so cute. I agree with Princess Judy that the square look like a patchwork quilt or warm winter throw. Love it! The addition of the little patterns make it even cosier. Of course the moose all tucked in to keep warm is a cutie. What does Caleb think we should call him? Interesting color combo and it really works for the holidays in an odd sort of way. Cute!
Thanks for the update on Joe. I had written a note last night to inquire how he was doing. The article was great! Continued thoughts, prayers, and well wishes for a speedy full recovery and for the family to get back to normal as can be!
Love the quilt concept…I have a confession…..making a quilt is on my bucket list! It was a great article….he is doing 1/2 days of school which hopefully will help him with his energy! Hugs my friend…how’s Teddy!
What an awesome praise report regarding Joe. So thankful all the prayers are working. God is good!
You’ve got that right…the whole thing is just amazing and the power of prayer and friendship have helped this amazing family! As I often text Catherine Anne…GOD IS GREAT!
Susan, this card is absolutely adorable! Love the pieced background! Thanks for sharing it with the PPA this week.
