Happy Holiday Weekend and before we get to the Simple Saturday Card…I hope and pray for all of those that have been affected by the terrible storm hitting Florida and coming up the East Coast. Wow – it seems like more and more we hear about natural disasters and it is just devastating. Be safe!
Years ago, there was a stamp set that Stampin’ Up had called “Totally Trees” (I think that it was before I became a SUD) and I loved it….actually I still have it as there was just something about that “hit me – loved the simplicity of it!
When this Holiday Catalog came out, the stamp set that I am using today reminded me of it – this is called Totally Trees and it is a fun, fresh and can be very modern version of the above mentioned stamp set!
Now come on…do you agree that this is a super simple card? Pop back tomorrow to see it stepped up a bit and then I will also share with you the dimensions for you to make this yourself! I think that this layout would be a great card to make up and leave the sentiment off….then when you need a card in a jig – pull a stamp out and go for it!
The sentiment is from Cottage Greeting…and you all know that I adore this set and if you do not have it…this is simple….it is just 3 words…
YOU NEED IT!
The sentiments are super and clean…the little stamps are “perfect” to add here and there, I just love this one and when in doubt – pull this out!
The below picture will give you a glimpse of this new paper pack – Fall at its finest! The colors and the textures are so fresh – something for all style of cardmaking! I think that this would be great at Thanksgiving, I always try to make some sort of 3-D for my table!
Because this is a photopolymer stamp….SUPER EASY to stamp…just see through and stamp away! Today I used the Soft Suede for the Tree and then Old Olive for the leaves!
I hope that you enjoyed this little bit of fall fun and I “Hope that your day is wonderful”. Here is an update on my friends son – he is doing FANTASTIC…I am so proud of him and his bravery is amazing. He is determined to get home as soon as possible and the best thing is his Mom is a nurse/physical therapist so she will be not only the BEST MOM (and she is) but also THE BEST THERAPIST for him!
I hope that if you are traveling this weekend, please be safe. We are at the best place in the world….HOME! Hannah is coming home so I am super excited to see her….and off to the barn we will go~ no matter how tired she is, she is never too tired to go ride!
See you tomorrow and get ready for another sweet card!
Great card Susan! That tree is too cute! I may need that set after all lol! Thanks for the update!
“Totally” cute! Classic and easy layout and the colors compliment each other so well. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow. Stay safe and dry.⛈
You can’t beat that color combo of old olive and rich razzleberry. Beautiful layout, beautiful card. Thank you.
I love the design and the color combo. The sweet sentiment really makes it pop. So glad Hannah will be home. Have a wonderful weekend. We need rain but not tons of it at one time.
Great card!!! I can’t wait to see the stepped up version! Thanks goodness they canceled the races for today! I was suppose to be out there but instead I am stampin away hoping the house does not blow away! Have fun with your family, both two and four legged ones!
I sure like this card! The colors are awesome. One question……is the grass stamped or hand drawn? It doesn’t appear to be from the stamp set. Looking forward to tomorrow’s card. Have fun with the family this weekend!!!!
Oh whoops, I looked again and there it was!!!! ?
Love today’s card because it is simple and clean. Good news about your friend and her son, and you have a great weekend with your family!
Treemendous news about your friend and her son! Plus, I am treemendously liking your card! Look at the scoring and that patterned paper is just plain fun! Looking forward to the stepped up version just to see the difference. Wishing Hannah a safe trip back. Now, I am going to make like a tree and leave!
Hi Susan, Very nice card, very fall-ish. Love the colors. Can’t think of what you would do to step it up. Hmmm . . . So happy Hannah is coming for the weekend. How far is the trip? Have a good one!!!
🙂
Yes! As soon as I saw this set it made me think of trend trees, which I also have. I wasn’t sure I needed another similar tree set but I really do like trees. Your card is a lovely example of this set. Now off to see how you jazzed it up for Sunday.
YEAH…I am sooooo glad that you have that stamp set – I just loved it and was sad when Stampin’ Up! retired it. It is funny as to what stamp sets I decide that I just cannot part with….Trendy Trees will be with me, forever!
